Is AI making us less creative?

This is the question that has been bothering me lately. Artificial Intelligence is being used frequently nowadays. And to be honest, I've been using AI as well, to write some Job Applications for me. AI can be neccesary if you don't know what ideas you could have, but it will lose the need to think creatively, which is a bit dangerous for the society. I've been using AI to even talk with fictional characters, which actually sounds insane and weird, I know. I just can't help being addicted to AI.

So, the question is, is AI really making us less creative?

So far, I've never used the artificial intelligence to help me with my tasks like writing something, but I do think that it contributes to our society being less creative and doing less great things than before. It was also the case when technology was new to us, and now it's a part of our life

AI would allow creative ppl without talent to be free from their limitations. And create the works they have in their mind, but don't have the skills necessary to do it in the traditional way. So no.

No. But AI would be the means for them to express their creativity. Arts done by actual artists is better than AI arts at the end of they day.

Lazy people are lazy themselves too begin with

kinda hot take, reader's discrection advised

With AI, it raise the buffer of laziness that are acceptable, so works that are used to be called lazy, now will be somehwat bearable with the help of AI. For anyone determined and curious, AI will extend their capabilities and let them do more. It may help them referencing, quick research of how is the fashion of a working class in 18th century looks like, maybe simulating how cloth moves and such

but taking peoples art and feeding it through an ai is just unacceptable.
i do not want to get into a heated debate about ai, ai is fine. but feeding peoples artwork into it, letting the ai recreate it, and taking it as your own? that is straight up unacceptable. don't get me wrong, i love ai covers, but i ABSOLUTELY FRICKING HATE AI ART. IT'S FRICKING AWFUL. ANYOE WHO SAYS AI ART IS GOOD, NEEDS TO BE PUNISHED. ARTISTS LIKE ME ARE QUITTING BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE THEM, WHO ARE MAKING THIS KIND OF CRAP. i'm sorry, i just- URGHH I HATE AI ART JBFHDSKGHDJFNK-

to be fair, a lot of that is just detail for the sake of detail, none of it has much meaning or relatedness, while an actual painter who does that kind of style still makes much better pieces.

That's fine.

Some people like simple mass produced plastic chair, a lot of people prefer handcrafted artisan's teak wooden chair.

It's affecting both beginners and expert alike. Seasoned artist might already have prominent names and thus, career stability out there but they are the bigger target for AI's training model. Their masterpiece that what makes them as an individiual, gone forever to be copied heartlessly for endless copies. As an artist, we need to unify our thought and action to retaliate such troubling paradigm shift.

If you use AI to assist you in your creative endeavors, then as long as you balance it and yourself, you're fine. Otherwise, using AI to replace you is a bad idea.

unfortunately, people use AI for the bad like making art or writing an entire essay...
