An integrated beatmap suggestion feature would help expose players to more maps.

I made a basic concept of what it may look like using the result screen. It may use data such as tags, Mapper, Artist, and Genre to find suitable maps. I imagine that by clicking the links would open the listing on the website or show the song on osudirect if the user has supporter.

EDIT: Giralda had an the idea of placing the suggestions below the rank bar. My interpretation:

This is cool :)

It might be hard to fit this in a 4:3 resolution. I can't get on osu! now and check how much space there is, but if I remember correctly, there's not that much.

Alternatively, there can be a supporter option that comes in a separate tab, similar to the "Genius" in the Apple App Store (I forget the official name, and my phone is dead, lol). It takes data from what you've downloaded, and gives you relevant applications based on what you've downloaded. This might work out a little bit better, since the current options you have can all be easily searched for on the website (Especially Same Mapper and Same Artist. Generally, you'll never have a 10+ pages of a single mapper's maps. Also, Artist can cause some issues, since "livetune" and "livetune feat. Hatsune Miku" aren't registered as the same thing. If osu! were to specify and artist search, it would consider livetune feat. Hatsune Miku a different artist than livetune.)

Or even something similar to Amazon, where it's like "Users who played/favorited this beatmap have also played/favorited", although how exactly one could track that data, idunno.

This could be useful for newer players.

I feel that the feature should cater towards people who dont already have supporter. Still the feature would add extra incentive to supporter (In-game suggestion highlights the benefit of osu!direct well). I like the idea of the players previous downloads being used to suggest more songs.

I've added a suggestion by Giralda to the first post.

I have also tested Giralda's suggestion (as well as my original one) using a 4:3 resolution to see if there are any space issues. It would appear that the first picture would be out of the question in that resolution as the rank image would either overlap or cover the suggestion box. However, "Online Rating" at the bottom of the rank page would still be fine. This is due to the fact that osu! skin objects by default are proportional to osu!'s resolution in the settings and as a result, the Beatmap suggestion in the bottom of the rank page should fit perfectly fine. Below is an example of the Beatmap Suggestion using a 4:3 resolution.

This was shown to me at school by NTRRR yesterday and thought that this looked like a pretty amazing feature to be added to osu! To avoid any annoyances of course (since not everyone likes suggestions thrown at them all the time), players should also be given an option to disable this as well. In addition to the above, the Beatmap Suggestor will need to have a filter for maps that the user has already downloaded.

There are a number of other things to consider as well, such as whether or not to suggest Qualified and Approved maps in the Beatmap suggestion, or maybe give users an option to show Unranked (Pending only) in the suggestor as well?

Either way, have my support!

Wouldn't this be a good addition to the direct function? :) Just a thought!

Now that there's Recommended Difficulty function on the website, this request can definitely benefit from osu!direct integration.

I know that this thread is 2 years old, but I still think its a great idea. In the concept art that NTRRR created, there were three related songs. I think you can have each one of those represent a different category. One of them could be songs from the same mapper. Another one could be a song that sounds similar. And then the last one could be one with a similar difficult. Obviously, there would more than just one for each category, so you could have a little "view more options" button under each map that would bring you to a list on your webpage
