The original context was that I talked about a classmate using said word in a presentation inappropriately. The original sentence referred to a black person in an offensive manner.
You mean the actual N-word? Or just negro? At the start, poly thought you were referring to negro, which you may have confirmed to him after that when you called him a racist.

Polyspora on the other hand thought it was totally fine and gave their example which has nothing to do with the original context. Others followed. So I’m just randomly accused of being overly sensitive all the sudden.
As I said previously, it could be because of poly's culture coming from a portuguese background. Of course it would have nothing to do with the original context, since I personally don't see a reason on why poly should give an example relating it, so it's reasonable for him to use an example coming from his cultural experience on why negro isn't such a bad word.

To add to this, Polyspora specifically said “but it’s funny” on the GN server when I asked them to not make racist jokes.
High possibility that he was joking. Like how he started the conversation off by trying to figure out what the N-word is, stating at the start, "the nutritive word?", or "the no word?". Also, using ad hominem attacks really just escalated the situation, since after that poly took it seriously as well.

Combining these, I think I do have a reason to consider Polyspora guilty. There may be quite a lot of misunderstanding here, and that is what I see.
I can definitely see some sort of misunderstanding here. I don't side with anyone here regarding this racism situation, but I just wanna make things clear and give more understanding. Both you and poly should start a proper conversation setting things straight, and maybe you'll make up with each other y'know? Be good to one another.
