The pinned Photography thread is dead, so I figured I'd just post my pictures in this thread whenever I take new ones, regardless of if I get responses or not. Feel free to leave comments though :> (I am a beginner photographer so if you have tips or advice, feel free to share them with me!)

At the time of making this thread, my Camera is the following:
CANON EOS200D MARK II

First post: 4/11/2022

This picture was taken behind some old buildings in Scoresby. I almost fell off stairs trying to take this. I like the look of this however.

This view is gorgeous, I somehow feel nostalgic about it despite being someone who has never even visited Indonesia

A Quick Roadmap

So it's been half a month since first post. I do have more photos from earlier times I can show here, if you're interested, but aside from that, I've been missing out on opportunities to go outside to take shots.

Currently in Victoria, it's exam times. I've got a week of exams left, then afterwards, I have 2 weeks of a program called 'headstart', in which I essentially just start my second year of high school, for 2 weeks. After that, it's a week of Work Experience.

I was planning on taking a few photos this week, but I've been pretty sick, so that never really happened, but here's what should happen in the future.

Queensland: Sometime in the next few weeks I should be going to the Gold Coast in Queensland for a holiday. Plenty of opportunities there. Problem is, that vacation looks like it has a chance of being cancelled due to COVID19 :|

Melbourne: Either before or after the Queensland Trip, I should have a few weeks to go into the city to take photos of just about anything. Food, People, Alleyways, Streets, Cars, the Homeless. Anything. That's almost guaranteed, so I'm not prepared to let this thread die so quickly.

If anything else in my photography comes up, I'll probably mention it here. For now, take an unedited picture of these ducks :D

Here is my city. That day the traffic is a lot worse than what it should be. To the point that walking is even faster. So I got down the bus and took the skytrain instead. To my surprise, the train is free because it's the newly opened line.

This looks cosy, can't imagine the pain of sitting in that traffic though.

Swan Hill, Regional Victoria

I'm feeling like the one on the right

I wish I had focused on the adults at the back instead, but this will do.
By the way, these photos are straight out of the camera. No photoshopping whatsoever.

I'm here for 2 more days, so more to come.

My first crack at Night Photos

Though, I've come to realise that to take clear night photos, you need a tripod.

These pictures were also taken in Swan Hill, I just forgot to upload them.

Loving the night photos!

You don't need a tripod, per se. You could probably get away with upping the sensitivity of the sensor (ISO) or opening the lens aperture as much as it can (though both come with inherent downsides like noisy pictures and shallow dof), on top of having the shutter speed as slow as you can manage with just using hands.

There's also photographing in raw format and doing post-processing in lightroom, but idk if you already do/want to do that or not.

But yeah, keep it up! Can't wait to see more cool photos!
