Hi, i'm playing ctb for 4 years now and i can only beat 4 star maps and im progressing very slow. I want to know how to improve faster, i've seen many ctb players playing for 3-2 years and they are so many levels above me..

Thanks

Easiest answer: play more

Actual answer: really depends on the type of person you are and what works for you. What always worked for me is playing stuff just sligtly out of your skill reach and a good variety of stuff. Try using different mods, converts, techy maps, faster maps, jumpy maps etc. Good luck!

There are 1460 days in 4 years. If you played at least 1 hour a day, then you would have at least 1460 hours. Even if you played for 30 minutes a day it would still be at least 730 hours. You have 65 hours on this game which averages to an estimated 2 minutes and 32 seconds a day for 1460 days, that's like playing 1 song in ctb every day which is not really enough time to improve at all.

so basically play more I wish I knew this back when I played guitar hero for 6 years and I can only barley pass through the fire and the flames

I mean realistically nobody comes on and plays 1 map every day for 4 years and no more or less. That would actually be better than what probably occured which is they played for a few hours then don't touch the game for a month and repeat. Taking really long breaks too frequently hampers improvement as you spend time relearning stuff you had learned before. (which looking at their play history seems to indicate as much)

Fair enough it was just an example to really show him how much time you would really need to get better in the timespan of 4 years because some people (like me when I was 16) really think that lifting a dumbbell for 20 reps each arm once a week will make us a bodybuilder in a few months but I'm trying to show him the perspective that you really need to put a lot more time and effort into becoming better at ctb because some of us think we push ourselves harder than what we really push ourselves to.
