i didn't get a chance to map in this but i'll still give you support. i'll be a happy man if i see this system perfected sometime.
but to be brutally honest, i don't think it'll happen. sure, you can go out of your way and pull all of the stops to fix one problem with the system, but then you'll look back to find 3 more. as much as i want a perfect system, odds are it isn't going to happen.
you still get my support anyway though, because you never know, because even though we probably won't get a perfect system, we can still improve this one

Ha. I can only laugh, sorry. It is very easy to "wish", but if you want things to change you actually have to take action. I'm not talking to anyone in particular here - just answering to the tone of the conversation up until now.
p.s. A "perfect system" is impossible. I'm not sure if you missed the iterations we have gone through over time, the different ideas put forward. As long as humans are judging maps it is impossible.
Of course humans don't have to judge *looks towards AIMod*. That should at least solve the "1 grid thing left" instead of people doing that in modding at the moment.

There are finished unranked maps that could be ranked or approved or should be looked at that have been up longer than some of the ranked maps. IMO thats a sign of people only helping their friends. (In General) Yes, there are people who go through the pending/help maps just for kudosu and not neccesarily want to help. Basing your attack on the whole "perfect system" premise doesn't work, because that's not what we want to begin with. There will be corruption and the such in ANY system, obviously. The matter is the extent to which such matters exist.
The repaired BAT rankings actually go quite well with this thread. I also love how some people quoted the first couple line's of peppy's response and put it as their signature. Come on, what's that going to do? We want a fairer system, and this is how we took action. We're doing exactly what you're telling us to do, yet you have to shoot us down with straw-man arguments...

Hey Mystearica, I understand you only joined osu! recently, but you may want to consider the history of the moderation system, and how many iterations it has been through. You may also want to consider that every member of the community can mod. BAT members only need to rank maps. If everyone in this thread helped with the modding process as much as an "active BAT member", you would instantly see a positive change.
Problem is, most people can't be fucked modding. They want others to mod their maps. This feeling gets transferred to the BAT, as it is "their job" to mod maps. I think this is bullshit. I also think asking for more active BAT members when you are getting over 5 new ranked songs a day is bullshit. I also think you guys need to start pointing the finger if you are going to make this "tag ranking" and "lazy BAT member" accusations - I totally approve if you single one person out for the purpose of actually clarifying WHAT THE FUCK you are on about.
I can't force all BAT members to increase their activity. That is like forcing all children at school to get As. It is like you trying to get me to code new features faster. I will do it at my own pace. The BAT will mod at their own pace. If you don't like this, then HELP by modding maps yourself. If you mod to a map to a perfect state, it can be ranked with ~15minutes attention from two team members, rather than an average of 1 hour from each.
