So basically its a copy of this (thanks dkun for permission to copy!) except this one is made specifically for CtB. Its a way to introduce CtB mapping techniques for both new and experienced mappers.

In order to nominate a technique, you must have and post:
 1. (Optional) A name for the technique (it can be an official name or one you make up)
 2. An accurate description of the technique (or alternatively, a screenshot of the technique)
 3. A link to any maps that have the technique. (The specific point in the map would help too)
PLEASE! Bold the name of the nomination so it is easier for us to notice!
Rating happens for a week, after that a new one will be posted.

I want to nominate the slowdowns or anti-jumps, here is an image to explain it

They can be perfectly stacked or move slowly on one direction.
This mapping style can be found on my maps, because I like them haha
Here is an example: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/113705

I will be happy to share my patterns to everyone, but I dont know if I need to open a new thread or just write here? it will be a big project-.-

they are called wawawa sliders iirc
CLSW
This is my own pattern.

This is something I usually put in my maps. Let's call it Half-Dashed Zigzag:

Map: Zwei - Inanna no Mita Yume (Short Ver.)

Map: Rita - Hajimari no Toki

It's a sequence of 4 1/2 notes, introducing a HDash every 2 of them. Something like this:

_O___________
_________O___
___O_________
___________O_

It'd be a serie of HDash-Dash-HDash following the shape of a zigzag, to make a varied movement not full of HDashes. Used with caution, it shouldn't be any problem!

I nominate
Full Plate Walks

Shounen Radio - neu

They are often referred to as "neu" streams ... because of the map name

basicly a repeat slider which is often so huge that you just stand under it to catch all fruits instead of catching each one seperatly ... and then you combine those with more together so you have a lot of "full plates"
very precise movement is needed, most of the time you won't need to dash. therefore a walk (neu is a bad example for that though ...)
there are more maps but "neu" is infamous for these streams

they ofcourse they vary much in terms of how much you must move or so ... but mostly you need to be precise, because they fit on your whole plate so you don't need to spam left and right with dash quickly

CTB mapping technique----- Triangle

I am afraid that this is too much, so I just do the simplest pattern....
any opinion?

Edit: Ok I see, this is really really too much already. I will give up this method....

Mabinogi - Uroboros 9236(inferno CTB)

Shows a moving from left to right or right to left in Dash jumps. only can be applied at Rain or Overdose.

My basic slider moving formation. the beauty is I can make 1,2,3,4 same spacing easily, and can create a nice jump.

no one mentioned about this so let me introduce... actually this is a basic movement.
this can me the jump hyper and hyper.

Slider increase jump. from no jump increase to hyperdash. the last jump I cannot use slider because it is a hyperdash, will be bugged if I use slider. Also this is in a reverse direction. you can make it in forward direction to make it easier.

Harder than ① because no stand sliders already.
About the same idea as CLSW, but i make a movement in each of the jump, makes it even harder.

you can see this pattern frequently in my map. this pattern I have used a long time and it is very easy to get map harder and harder.
slider+stand+slider+stand just make a square, and each of the slider end to the next slider start got an equal jump.

End here at this moment. maybe next time I get to analyze CTB Rhapsody, there is also a lot of good death pattern=.=
Tenshichan
I like this idea, so I want to share three of my favorite patterns ^^.
<No name yet>
Pattern Found in: verynezumi - Final Test in Touhou
Basically this pattern just consists of symmetrical repeat sliders which have to be done with permanent dashing. Even if its a converted, it really gives an awesome feeling while playing it on the map above. I would really like to see more patterns like this in nowadays CTB diffs! Also there is still room to make the sliders more energetic etc (:

Flyaway Sliders
Pattern Found in: BACK-ON - flyaway [Tales of] Remix
This pattern consists of n sliders in a row with 2 or more repeats and create a hyperdash at the end leading to the next slider. When it has a high slider velocity it is very difficult or impossible to stand in the middle because it is hard to get a really accurate hyperdashing so it requires movement on the sliders. The pattern is difficult because of the rhythmical (and maybe fast) movement you need to pass this sliders.

Big Brother Sliders
Pattern Found in: Susumu Hirasawa - Big Brother
Mostly together with a higher SV this pattern consists of consecutive sliders in the same direction, which need to be dashed and which require a different movement way to left and right because of the changes x-axis. It can have a hyperdash at the end of each slider or it doesnt like in this example. The higher the SV or the BPM the harder usually is this kind of pattern.

I hope this helps and yeah; would be nice if u guys could find name or I do maybe ^^;

haha reminds me of an old typewriter where you always write from left to right and then shove the whole thing back to the start and do it again xD
IIRC stuff like this can be found often in Charles maps lol
eldnl
There are a lot of patterns, we should select the first one?

yup

Go ahead then, select one that is well explained first.

updated OP with currently named techniques

chose the very first CtB technique to be rated

Rate here!
Kurokami
Lets see.

I hope this isn't exist already. I call is Climb the Stairs.

In Editor it looks like

And like this while playing

I'm always use this technique on my maps, its like my style in CtB.
May'n - Chase the World (TV Size)
Earthmind - ENERGY (TV Size)
Itou Kanako - Find the blue (Short Ver.)
Belle Lawrence - Bad Day (Nightcore Mix)

I mainly use them on Rains since they are freaking hard to handle. At least for me these kind of jump were the last ones to me.

If someone can do a better image about it I will gladly accept it.
ZHSteven
that is called "reverse slider" by me.
Again always use this pattern carefully because that is extremely hard if the bpm is high.

the most famous map will be "big brother" for this pattern to first appear.
Kurokami
Hmm, well reverse slider is also sounds good, the name doesn't matter anyways. I dunno which one was the first map since I never check dates and I only played that map once. But if that was the first, then of course the title needs to be there on the first place.

you can name the patterns yourself
ursa
*Because this thread has died I think let's revive this again
1/8 Stream

it's Basically from normal stream with 1/8 . but as we know , most player maybe map that 1/8 part with using repeatable slider like this

but we also can use this method by putting circles in 1/8 beat one by one & arrange then moving like flow
Edit View
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1374981

even a mapping method has a strong point & weak point. so here's the (+) & ( - ) side for that. 1/8 stream using repeatable slider is easier to make than using circles, but it has a bad jump effect when it chained with heavy jumps & can make causes slipped effect.

Devil's Jump

An Improvement from 1/8 beat with using circles. the key is to make a nice jump reaction with using 6 circles in 1/8 beat. it kinda makes time to make that , because you must arrange the cirlce 1 by 1

Example Map : NeLiME - CODE NAME : ZERO
Extra : it's so simple why i named Devil's Jump , because when it comes with high drain & miss the jump , you'll simply dead & besides it's used 6 circles to make that 8-)
Kitokofox
I nominate zig zag sliders~

The ones that start in the middle of the screen and stretch out then come back in, like this

______O_____________
____O_______________
___________O________
_____________O______
____O_______________
__O_________________
_______________O____
_________________O__
_____--==\o/_________

It's really rare though.. :(
Ciyus Miapah
i have an extremely hard pattern for using in Overdose or deluge

i dont know real name of this patter but i call it Stream Breaker

this pattern is adapted in LeaF - Calamity Fortune

why call Stream Breaker? cause you need press your dash button in 1/2 pattern, in high bpm this is the hard thing ever and with H.Dash its very difficult to pass it
Deif
Calamity Fortune has the particularity that you don't need to press the dash button to pass all the HDashes, but just let the left button and see the magic happens. Philippines's F.I would be a better example :P

:o i think its nice great idea, b-b-b-but it needs full adrenalin to pass dat :D
autofanboy
I want to nominate these kind of pattern:

1/4 Jumping
This kind of jumping is 1/4 jumping as we can see in the title, and the sliders are pointing each other (like a Zigzag line).

Example: ginkiha - Oriens

Another kind of jumping is still 1/4 jumping but not in a zigzag line, the sliders are still pointing each other.

Example: Gentle Stick X M2U - Hades in the Heaven
