Not sure if I should get red or speed switches, just want an opinion on what is better. Just as a little extra could you link a good keyboard with the switches you sugest?

Preference.
A lot of people prefer hyperx red switches, but for me I think they are unplayable on due to the lower total travel distance. With this being said I think cherry mx reds are very good, and are the better option.

And for osu! I honestly think that any mid tier keyboard that has a good reputable switch brand will work as long as you like it.

Speed switches are good but they require a lot of finger control.

I use cherry mx silvers (speeds) and I will say, there is literally little to no difference to them and reds. However, you do get that kind of "trigger happy" feeling when you tap, where you can easily tap too early just from how the switches work. But that in it of itself is a motivator to train finger control, so I think it's just a plus.

in the end, its personal preference

I've been using them for 3 years, its hard to get good acc, you need to really develop your technique. I'd go with not silver switches, consider reds, blues, browns, or blacks (if your goal is to train stamina use mx blacks)

It may have been more than a year since I made this post, and I still got a response. That's okay though, as it's still great advice. I now have a HyperX Alloy Origins Core with reds and it's great so far. I am yet to try other switches for extended periods of time, as I have only tried silvers and blue for about an hour and a half at a time, but I'll give you my opinion on them.

Speed switches - Not that much different to reds, are lighter though. They are great for single-tapping (in my opinion) but anything more than 20-30 note streams can be a struggle.

Clicky switches - Don't feel great for any rhythm games in general, better for typing in my experience. I feel like I push down through the key, and then do it again. I have not had enough time to actually try click-y/tactile switches so this shouldn't be taken as what blues feel like or whether or not you should get them.

Linear switches - My personal favourite for rhythm games. Are smooth all the way down. Can be hard to feel where the actuation point is sometimes, only way to know is muscle memory. They aren't great for typing, but isn't a problem if you get used to it.

Membrane (specifically in the Razer Cynosa Chroma) - Work fine for everything. Are my personal favourite for typing, as you can slide your fingers across the keyboard without accidental actuation's. Had no problem with them when it comes to rhythm games. For osu!standard however, if you were single-tapping quickly you may find yourself lifting the key up barely. When streaming, anything more than a burst sucks to play on. If your wanting to play osu!standard with membrane keyboard, take this into consideration.

Laptop keyboards - Just don't, they're fucking awful.

Take everything I say with a grain of salt, as your experience may vary.

Thankyou for reading.

Technically, everything can be a switch if it can turn on and off a conducting path.

So basically streaming 300 bpm is a form of switch because it allows you to change from one key to another
(like the video lol)
