Just wanted to ask if I was about to post my project here, are there any rules? Like is a virus scan or source code or anything else required? I am not a fan of open source and wouldn't necessarily want to release everything to the public, I usually heavily obfuscate my software too so it can cause some false positives.

There are no special rules applied in this forum, besides the general rules that are for the entire site/service
It's not required, but HIGHLY recommended. The more secretive you are about how things work and what things are the less success your project will find. Having it open source comes with following benefits:
- Trust that the software does not have something malicious
- Allows other developers to contribute
- Provides other developers with reference on how do things (if it's well written code, at least)
