Beatmap's Thread
Yeah, I'm bad. I SB'd stuff from a kiddy game.

In any case, I submitted here 'cause I doubt the people who mod this map will take a close look at its storyboard. I planned it to be a minor SB, but I guess I went a little overboard. ^_^'


So, here's the nostalgia list that the SB is based off of.
1. That Taj panel thingy in Track Select
2. Title and Vehicle Select
3. The stats at the top when you race. Note 1st and 2nd at the top when you're in passing/failing status.
4. The countdown (GET READY --> GO!)
5. The time display at the top right. (SO HARD TO SB. You can't just set it as an animation. X_X) It blinks with the duration of the previous lap (aka section of the beatmap) when "Lap x" shows.
6. Lap 2 and Final Lap
7. Warning arrows that show at the sides of the screen. There's turns, sharp turns, U turns, up/down arrows (for flying in DKR), and ! mark warnings.
8. An animated racing flag behind the lap stat when it's lap 3/3.
9. 1st/FINISH images appear at the ending, depending on your passing/failing status.
10. T.T.'s voice accompanies most of these SB images.
11. And then there's part one of the T.T. elements. Lap 2 and Final Lap gives a "Lap Record" exclaim when in passing status, and the end of the song a "Race Record" cry. There's a handful of tiny changes/additions in the T.T. difficulty that you can notice right away.
12. And there's that cute/annoying little head that comments on your every move. He has is wrongway/crash face when you're failing, his boost face during kiai time, and his lap face. Fun stuff.

And I SB'd the creators of the difficulties in a DKR font, and included their avatars.
There's also some skinning elements (especially in CtB), but that's not really an SB. But dumpsterdiver should note that star2 is a banana.



If someone can double check my work (especially the time display), that would be great. Feel free to throw in some constructive criticism, too. This is a looooong (that's NOT what she said) project that took hours to make, and I'm really proud of it.

Such impressive work you did here...I bet there's a lot of sweat, tears, and blood released into this work of art.

No, you're not missing anything. I actually have a folder on my desktop which has all the face textures dumped from the game.
In fact, I was thinking of SBing the head that actually appears in the time trials, as you can gather from those two images. I guess I can upload the faces and you can expect what I might add soon.

EDIT: Just DL the map in full to see the face textures.

I think you should change the background image once the race starts, it's weird to have all the in-game-style effects laid over a stage select screen. Or possibly, just zoom into the image of the track within the background you have now.

Also, did I see a little map icon that appears and then hides behind the vehicle icon? Should that go in a different place?

I never considered changing the background image, but now I think about it, I feel it's pretty unique to have a stage select screen as the background. Tell me if you disagree. Zooming in will be kind of ugly, since I took a screenshot in the smallest resolution.

I can't find the map icon as a texture, so I screenshot'd it. It's ugly, so it's under the vehicle. I think a vehicle to tell you the difficulty is better than a map that does nothing. >_>
