i wonder if there's such thing as a beatmap that is 100% original, meaning the song is exclusively composed, mapped, storyboarded, etc. only for this game.

sooo yeah. discuss. :3

edit: remixes of existing songs are kinda arguable, but it depends...

It's more like DJMax map copy-pasted to osu!, it's a nice idea but not really original.

There have been jubeat maps imported to osu! (by using skin and stuff) but that does not make them original.

Mad machine, unless it's a false rumor. Seemingly the first map was so bad they banned the user though.

ahh! the tieff/natteke maps. i remember seeing these on osu!stream but i never knew they're original works too!

LOL is it even possible for someone to banned just because he made a horrible map? :p btw it sounds like a dubstep thingy and those streams are insane!

this one is also related https://osu.ppy.sh/s/10318 but if syrsa published it first elsewhere, then i don't think we could call this "original"...

edit: i wonder if troll maps like this https://osu.ppy.sh/s/52487 counts as "original" too.

... which gives me a good idea (i hope he allows me to make beatmaps of his compositions)

That was a joke, but I do recall that he did make that song specifically to make an impossible map for the game, but it was such a horrible mess that nobody really payed any attention to it. It's been remapped and ranked already though;

no. original as in the song is composed exclusively only for this game. beatmaps emulating other rhythm games doesn't count as "original" on this thread.

The title of the post says "beatmap" not "song", thus we posted unique beatmaps to osu!. Guess you should have clarified a little bit better XD I interpreted it as saying "what songs are mapped in a unique way that isn't like any other map on osu!?".
