About a week ago, in a random bout of anger at myself for not being able to properly use the spacebar in 5k and 7k maps, I realized that I could configure my keys in the options menu. .___.

Now I play 5k much better! But I'm still horrible at 7k.

So, what's your key configuration? Or did you keep it the same?

Mine -
4k: DF JK
5k: DF HJK
6k: SDF JKL
7k: SDF HJKL
8k: ASDF JKL;

Pretty standard, when I first started I wanted to keep my hands far apart and I used things like ~12 ins home pgup but after awhile I started migrating closer together to eventually just use standard keys for most setups.

Other types i played before:

ASD space KLÖ
WER space OPÜ
or something including the numpad

also played a bit with the left shift key as my first key on the old keyboard because i couldnt press more than 6k keys the normal way

I use default since, for whatever reason, holding every key at once on 7k and 8k works fine. If 9k ever gets added, seems like my keyboard would be fine with it too.

4k - JKL; (one hand)

8k - sdf[space] down num4 num5 num6 (use both middle rows with my thumbs)

I use an autohotkey script to remap my keys with custom hotkeys, ex. ctrl+alt+8 will set my keyboard in 8k mode. More convenient for multiplayer :p

It would be easier adding some lines to a *K.in on your skin folder. Ex for 8K.ini:

Key0: S
Key1: D
Key2: F
Key3: Space
Key4: Right
Key5: NumPad4
Key6: NumPad5
Key7: NumPad6

I can't do 6K onwards especially on multiple holds because of keyboard ghosting. I'm using a standard laptop. ;w;

Since this laptop keyboard has an "extreme" ghosting...
EDIT:
4K: DFJK / ASDF (in case left stage) / YUIO (in case right stage)/-spc-HJK (one-handed)
5K: DF-spc-JK/GH-spc-JK
6K: SDFHJK
7K: SDF-spc-HJK
8K: ASDFYUIO/ASDF-spc-HJK (special style)
Also o!m stage in my config is moved to mid screen.

Yes, not playing with space does making some parts of songs a lot harder on me than for other people, but I play how I like so I don't mind it.
