Storyboard = Lag ?

Before you go make assumptions to what this thread is about, let me tell you this.

I want to create a storyboard that's going to require a lot of objects in my mind. It's not going to be >9000, or maybe it would, but it's certainly going to be a high number. The objects are going to go totally insane and crazy...which would mean lots of storyboard effects here and there.

Now, would this equal lag when playing osu! ? I don't want the storyboard to be a culprit of bad playing at all. Keep in note that there's going to be a LOT going on at one time...

Thank you.

I'm not sure if it's still an on-going issue, but I remember a while ago (either LH or m980) had a problem with lag with multiple large fading images on screen at the same time. I guess, whether to say it will lag or not, really depends on what you're doing.

Sucks I'm giving you such a broad explanation but it's hard to say whether it will lag or not without actually just testing to see if it lags.

Although I'll say I never witnessed lag in any of m980's authentics, or my on-going sb atm which has a decent amount of stuff going on.

why not give it a try? Grab a map to sandbox with.

I tried neco miku reimu with a storyboarded song video and it causes to lag on my laptop to 30-40 fps
kind of a bad idea

It's your computer's fault, my computer is from the late 90s and can handle that SB.

well isnt there a way to make it not lag at all I want to play neco miku reimu badly (might have to switch the storyboard with video)

I've done some stress-testing for SBs; nothing too huge, but I've got 21 objects of varying (yet mostly small) sizes going on simultaneously for extended periods of time, and my fps is around 1050 during play. This is pretty good - my computer is five years old.

Now, most of the images that are animating are pretty small, and a lot of small images generally function better than a few large images. But for the sake of it, I'll try doing some stress-testing of less-than-reasonable SBs in the future.

SBs should not affect gameplay to a noteworthy degree (ie you should never drop below 60 because of SBs) and I know how peppy loves optimizations...

Well I got some youtube videos of the songs (like the neko miku reimu music video) and after I get the video on, it says if I want to update the song and the video doesnt lag but it wont let me get scores, or set records
