[Feb 15 4:12 PM] Cleaned up some files involving the lifebar. Special thanks to Maav for giving me some help.
[Feb 16 9:59 AM] Changed download link... .osk was not extracting properly.
[Feb 19, 5:10 PM] Made small rankings more visible. Made vampire fangs on hitcircles more visible. Fixed a bug which was causing ranking-C.png to not display properly. And, updated the screenshots section 'v '
[July 200, 1:17 PM]Skin updated to version 2.0! Special thanks to Koshe Komeiji for making the icon for Half Time for me. If you want a full changelog, check my post in this thread.

Hey, here's another skin, hot off the press. My second one. I think I'm addicted to skinning.

Character is Oshino Shinobu from the *monogatari anime/light novel series. She was once a powerful vampire but was reduced in her power by Araragi Koyomi and Oshino Meme. Her favorite food is the donut.

If you want to use any elements from this skin, go ahead, but give credit and let me know.

Fun fact: The cross for missed notes is a vector I slapped together (poorly) of Episode's throwing cross. Episode is a half-vampire vampire-hunter that hunts Shinobu in the light novel Kizumonogatari and only appears in the anime for a split second in the first episode.

Thanks! I was originally gonna use her swallowing the sword from Nekomonogatari but I wasn't good enough at photoshop.

My only concern is that the ki (blood splatter) isn't centered on the blade. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Um, I think you have to search in google ,deviant art,zerochan and more.

You know, this is awesome. You have some talent to skinning.

Didn't post something like that on your Hitagi skin because I hate her, oh well. Might mix up some elements of this on my play skin.

Sorry for reskinning everything, but...
Reskinned scorebar-colour.png (it didn't fit to Shinobu's hand before, everything I did was replace it a few pixels; I would transfer the handle to scorebar-bg too, while the blade itself would be the health bar, as that would look better on low health)

I'm sort of a skin bugtester for skins I like (or on requests too).

Oh my god Maav you're the best. I'm in class right now so I don't have access to a lot of my files but I'll definitely update the skin later, and give you credit. Interesting use of white space for the ki...I'll have to make note of that for future skins.

Thanks for doing this, actually. My knowledge of Photoshop is pretty limited (I've been using SAI for over two years but I just got photoshop for free through my university) so I was trying to do something like this through trial and error. I also had to recreate a lot of the handle with Frankenstein'd elements from other parts of the sword. I'll transfer the handle over later today.

Um, I think you have to search in google ,deviant art,zerochan and more.

I figure the best place to ask for advice on osu! skinning would be the osu! skinning forums. :u
But, yes, those are all excellent places to get art for skins. I usually use danbooru with the character name and the 'white_background' or 'transparent_background' tags, since that saves me some time, but there is limited fanart of Bakemonogatari characters (compared to something like Touhou or Madoka) so that doesn't always work.

Tried Pixiv for art? Like Deviantart, there's a lot of crap in there, but you can find some pearls with some hunting.
You can get the japanese character names from MAL or something, in case you don't know jap.

I'm sort of a skin bugtester for skins I like (or on requests too).

I am familiar with Pixiv's interface, but I avoid using it for the same reason as deviantArt and tumblr: no moderation. On danbooru, there are mods, so I'm gonna have to sort through less junk to get a good picture. If i'm really digging I'll check out pixiv, but I haven't done that in a while.

Look at the Insane diff. The B score is almost invisible on already played ranked maps.

I'm sort of a skin bugtester for skins I like (or on requests too).

Thanks, I had noticed it too but somebody else complaining was the motivation I needed.

Bumping for v1.2, small changes here and there. Check the changelog.

I'm more than halfway done with my next skin.

Wanna know what? The ranks look better with the outline, along with being more visible. =]

Red combos are REALLY hard to read; maybe consider using the usual greyscale hitcircleoverlay.png?
And custom combo colors (editable in skin.ini, in case you don't know yet) would be neat. Same for mod icons (if you're doing those, don't forget selection-mod-perfect.png and selection-mod-nightcore.png!).
