I'd like to recommend to move this topic to the Mapping Techniques subforum

Happy30 - I dunno why, but i love his jumps. He knows how to make a map HARD without too many streams 
Al-Azif - Simply amazing
James - I love his early maps (his new maps don't give me the same feeling D:)
lukewarmholiday - I really like his maps, even though i always have hard times trying to FC them xD
nullPointLOL - His style seems like a mixture of some chinese mappers' styles to me, and i like it
I also like other mappers, but these are the ones who impressed me the most.

So um...FFFanatic and Mifune, I guess. I'd say Cheeselock, but I only really, really like one of his maps. tom800510 does decent work usually. So does LH. I can't remember if I really like anyone else as much as those first two guys though.

Hito, you're more of a grey area. You have really good maps, but also really bad maps.
Nharox definitely gets a mention here, Tsurupettan is and stays <3
Larto's funky Imogen Heap style is very appreciated.
Jar's style is fun, but his maps aren't really modded (see: India; Faggot; ...)

Garlic style is good aswell, I've had the pleasure of working with him.
Agent Spin Here is climbing in the high ranks in my tier list aswell, getting there!

You have to remember though, most of my maps, at least the first half IIRC are before most of the "essentials" of Osu! were implemented. Most of my maps don't have proper spacing, and there's even a few that were made before Breaks were properly implemented. From "Momo no Hanabira" on, that's where my maps had actual spacing.

I guess I still don't look at the mapper much.
There were definitely a lot of milestone mappers that have surfaced in the past year. As FFF and djpop changed osu in 2007, James, mark, awp, mifune (and cecil ilu) were the greats of 2008, followed by the darri era with alace, al-azif, and others. Right now the maps I play the most are larto, gladi, and lesjuh. You guys have changed osu.
Oh and I don't know when m980 started making good maps, but he's in there too ^_^
