So far, we already have SS rankings, which required an accuracy of 100%. However, there are different amounts of score achieved with that accuracy, commonly with numbers of 300 and 300g.

The new SSS ranking can be achieved by getting 100% 300g out of the total notes to be hit. Also comes in silver SSS which involves the use of Flashlight.

I was thinking of this long ago but somehow I thought it was unnecessary since all sss scores will be the same.

SS is meant for 100% accuracy, not 100% score. not real need imo

Also, 100% 300g (accuracy) is SS, not SSS. . :S
Agka
300g technically requires higher accuracy than 300 even if the game right now disagrees giving both the same accuracy %.

SS is pretty much enough, as its the global grade for 100%. As posts above state, this is unneeded.

Don't think it's really necessary because the timing window for the rainbow 300s is so insane that it's sort of impossible to get SSS for a human. Currently SS is already damn impressive on harder maps so I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong.
MillhioreF
SSS is possible on some maps... but I don't think we really need it, considering the very low amount it's humanly possible on.
lolcubes
Yeah, only super easy maps like that, doubt it's humanly possible on any mainstream map.

A stepmania 'ridiculous' or judge 7 marvelous is tighter than a 300g, and someone has done this:

An AAAAA = full ridiculous combo on judge 4, or full marvelous combo (AAAA) on judge 7. This is the former.

If this is possible, then I think that we could potentially have some super pros getting all 300g's on the harder songs.

Haha, that request... you must be a Stepmania / DDR player right ? :)
Anyway I agree with you, I'd like to see how far can people go on this game, I remember having AAAA's on stepmania was quite extreme, and people were very proud of themselves when they achieved that.
Not to mention osu!mania was released only a few months ago (maybe I'm wrong, please correct me if needed), I'm sure that after one more year of training, these things you guys call "impossible" will be possible for the top players, remember when V3 - Beautiful Day [Impossible] was supposed to be impossible to fc.

It could be nice, however it's clearly not a priority imo.

EDIT : Bites totally Ninja'd me about Izzy :<

Maybe this'd be worth implementing if perfect scores become widespread. Of course, if that happens, maybe woc will finally change his opinion on the (currently worthless) mods...

It is so hard to get.
People will eventually get a few.
The point would be to have a record of these ultra-achievements somewhere like in your profile or in the player rankings.
Then again having this distinction would make it a goal to strive for, which is a bit cruel since it's so hard.

At firs I was like "Meh, not gonna need it since I rarely play mania", but then I saw this video. I mean, you can feel the passion through the screen. He doesn't seem like some random pro screaming at 9000+ decybels after each miss. And if SSS mark can bring that passion to the mania, then HELL YEAH BRING IT ON! Even if not for me, then for all the o!m pros.

I am aware of that, however those people play there, not here. I am probably wrong when it comes to saying that it's humanly impossible, but it nearly sure is. In any case it's easy to distinguish such a player due to the only score having 7 digits (1,000,000), which is the reason why I don't find this really necessary. :p

It might not be neccesary- but it is still a huge plus for pros ;P

Sounds good imo.

Guys closed minded... osu!mania is a clone of BeatMania, EZ2DJ, and DJMax...

Beatmania have AAA, EZ2DJ Have's S and '+AllCombo' '+Perfect Judge', DJMax have SSS...

I see this really NEEDED. This isn't unneccessary... counterwise... it's a cool thing to add, also implementing it with 300 Accuracy reduction to 95% and 300G being the only 100%. 8-)

osu!mania is a clone of o2jam. There are some elements from IIDX/DJMAX/EZ2DJ, but mainly its based off from o2j.

No, It isn't. Also if it was oriented more to 1 game, it should be IIDX.

waiting for X-Ranking

Would be cool
Profile of http://osu.ppy.sh/u/1452911 (IQ166) would display so many SSS
