also this is my first beatmap so don't be all like "wow you no0b mapper you sux 4 life!!!"
edit 1 on 11/23/2012 - made a lot of changes to easy and normal levels, and some changes to hard and insane levels, added a random background!
edit 2 on 11/29/2012 - tried to make hard and insane flow a little better
edit 3 on 12/04/2012 - changed a few slider lengths in hard and easy
edit 4 on 12/17/2012 - people said insane was badly mapped... maybe this works better? also a few other changes to other difficulties
edit 5 on 12/25/2012 - even MORE changes to insane... please tell me if it's better, thanks!
edit 6 on 01/25/2013 - some MORE changes to insane :)

Random mod request, sorry this can't be more complete, but I'll just give you basic pointers on how to map your difficulties.

General

Bitrate is too high, reduce bitrate to 128 or 192 kbps.
find a background image! 800X600 or 1024x768

Easy

HP-1, OD -1 AR+1

Here's a few general things to keep in mind for mapping, much of this difficulty will have to be changed because it is supposed to be your easiest difficulty.

Use distance snap for everything for this diff. It is best to have your easiest difficulty uniformly spaced the entire time.
Generally, too many repeats on sliders can get confusing. consider remapping parts where the slider repeats more than twice.
Make sure you do not stack notes at all for your easiest difficulty.
Do not use any 1/8 circles, too fast for easy difficulty

You have nice rhythm on this diff, but a few things need to be changed in order to make this a proper Easy difficulty.

Normal

AR+1

For this difficulty, also try to stick mostly with distance snapping. You'll need to remap a lot on this in order to make that happen.
If you want to decrease the difficulty of this difficulty, then you need to cut down on the notes you use. Try to focus on minimizing the objects needed to sufficiently map a part.

Hard+Insane

This thread will be very helpful for you to improve the flow on your maps. Especially on Insane difficulties, flow is very important. Try to examine your map again with the principles from that in mind.


Sorry that I didn't get more specific, but I think that if you go back to the drawing board with some of this in mind it will really help you. Your rhythms seem pretty good so this map has potential. Good luck, and call me back for a recheck after you've had a few more mods.

Here's your mp3 at 192 kbps, just replace the mp3 in the song folder with this one.
To remove the background image you can either delete it from the song folder or just replace it with a new one.
hitsounds are the whistle, finish, and clap you see on the right hand side of the editor window. you can put these sounds at certain points on the song (individual circles, whole sliders, slider starts or finishes) to make the map more exciting and the rhythm more easy to follow.
Sliders repeating is when you have the arrow at the one end of the slider that makes you do the same slider twice in a row but in reverse.

I tried to do some of the things you said, so here it is!
please tell me if it's good enough or not :)

  1. The background is too small for Osu, it looks relativly bad.
  2. Make the sounds about 10% more quite.
Easy

I think it's pretty good already, just some sliders could work better:

00:30:574(1) - I would suggest recreating this slider, the tick is missing.
01:21:100(1) - Make that slider longer by 1/8, it sounds strange as a 1/4-slider.

Normal

Nothing here for me, to be honest.

Hard

00:11:626(1) - Reduce slider length by 1/8
00:13:205(1) - Same as above
00:17:942(1) - Same as above
00:45:376(2,3,4) - Place them a bit further away from (1)
00:52:679(1) - Same as the other sliders
01:17:843(5) - Place this one nearer too the red (1)
01:21:001(5) - Same as above

Insane

Nah... I don't really like the addition of insane very much. But it's your choice.

Hi there. Overall, your map's not too bad, but it needs improvement.

[Easy:]

  • Set the circle size to 3. It would look much better.
    00:07:481 (2) It would look better if this was on the same line (horizontally) as 1 (yellow)
    00:08:468 (1) This is too close to 2; consider using distance snap.
    00:09:060 (2) You don't want to get too close to the top of the screen; you should make this go horizontally like the previous sliders.
    00:15:376 (1) This isn't distance snapped.
    01:21:100 (1,2) I recommend that you combine these two sliders.
    01:37:876 (1) You should place this below the next slider instead of over it for reasons previously stated.
    01:47:350 (1,2) WAY too close together. It would confuse players.
[Normal:]

  • 00:08:468 (1) It looks bad if it doesn't match up with the previous slider's endpoint.
    00:48:534 (1) Its not correctly distance snapped.
    01:15:968 (2,3,1) These look ugly. You can either space them all out or stack them all together.
    01:19:126 (2,3,1) ^ (See above)
    01:24:652 (1,2) Not correctly spaced.
    01:48:337 (1) Move this so that in falls in a straight line with 2,3, and 4 (yellows)
    01:15:692 (2,3) You should combine these two sliders.
[Hard:]

  • 00:06:297 (5,6) It would look nicer if these lined up with 4 horizontally.
    00:14:784 (1) This looks terrible and weird when stacked under 4; you should space it out.
    00:58:797 (4) This slider look awful. Change it.
    01:10:179 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) These triplets are terrible and don't correspond with the rhythm. Delete all circles except for 1,4,7, and 10.
    The first part of the chorus starting at 01:27:416 (ending at 01:40:047) is terribly, terribly mapped. Look at the second part of the chorus and then remap from there.
    01:43:205 (1,2) These sliders' edges are too close together; space them out a it more.
[Insane:]

  • 00:10:639 (6,7,8,9,10) Again, either space them out or stack them all together.
    00:11:626 (1) A bit bit too far from 14.
    00:14:784 (1) Space it out from under 5.
    00:52:876 (2,3,4,5,6) Space them out or stack them all together.
    00:53:468 (7,8,9,10,11) ^
    01:08:468 to 01:13:205 This long stream seems out of place, weird, and a lame excuse to bring up the difficulty. I suggest that you should change it.
    01:21:099 (1) I don't know why you can't just stack this under 3 and 4.
    Same thing with the first part of the chorus as Hard. Basically, focus on mapping the main chorus rather than the side beats. Its confusing, weird, and barely anyone would get it. It doesn't flow well at all with the music.

-> OMG! :o Please Erase this Difficulty! It is wayyyyyyyyyyyy to overmapped and almost half of the notes doesn't even go with the music. To be honest, this map doesn't even need an Insane diffculty! See http://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Insane for more details.

Lovely song. One of my favorites from the Mario Galaxy series.

[General]
  1. Please change the name of the artist to Yokota Mahito (You have to use the Family Name before the Given Name when referring to Japanese artists.) Also edit the name of the artist to 横田 真人 (copy and paste this) Enter the Romanized name as Yokota Mahito
  2. Also 近藤 浩治 (Kondo Koji) seems to have been part of this soundtrack. I'm not sure if he was the one who composed this but I would suggest putting his name in the artist as well. So Overall.. Change the artist name to 近藤 浩治 & 横田 真人 and the romanized name to Kondo Koji & Yokota Mahito.
  3. This is just more of a suggestion. Though not really required. Change the title of the song to ウィンドガーデン (Wind Garden) Leave the romanized name as Gusty Garden though. This will help Japanese players with the name of the song.
  4. Your background has some pretty poor quality into it. I'm assuming because the picture is too small. I went ahead and tried to find a picture to match your current one. Hopefully this one will suffice.
  5. Lead-in: I suggest adding a 2 second lead-in to all difficulties so the song doesn't start instantaneously! Ranking rules say there must be at least 2000ms (or 2 seconds) of lead in time prior to the first note. So change it to 2 seconds please (Song Setup -> Audio -> Lead-in -> Click until the bar reaches the 2, DO NOT DRAG IT! Otherwise you will probably have inconsistent lead in times with all your difficulties!)
  6. Kiai Time: This is one of the things that'll make certain parts of your maps shine! I suggest you use it. 01:27:416 or 01:40:047 to 01:52:679 possibly? I'll leave it up to you to decide when to use it, but I really really suggest you do! http://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/Kiai_Time

Everything else seems to be alright.

[Easy]
  1. General: For easy difficulties, its hard to hit notes that are 1/4 (blue lines) apart from each other. Even 1/2 is hard for an easy difficulty unless it connects sliders. The mapping seems fine, so the suggestions I'm going to make are mostly going to be tips on how to reduce the difficulty of it so people who aren't experienced with this game will be able to follow the maps easier. This difficulty plays more like a normal how it is currently. These are just suggestions and don't do them if you don't really like them
  2. 00:02:547 (1,2) - I suggest replacing these with one with one long slider. (end it at the end of the 2)
  3. 00:04:126 (1,2) - ^
  4. 00:20:902 (3,1) - Combine these into a slider. As I mentioned earlier, half notes are hard to hit for easy difficulties.
  5. 00:33:534 (3,1) - ^
  6. 00:46:166 (3,1) - ^
  7. 00:51:692 (1,2,1) This is really difficult. Delete 1 and 2, and make a slider from 00:51:692 to 00:52:284 (see pic)
  8. 00:54:850 (1) - Shorten this slider to 00:55:442
  9. 01:13:501 (1,2) - Hitting 1/4 notes can be hard. But there isn't anything wrong with it. I just wanted to point it out though
  10. 01:50:508 (1,2,3,1,2) - This is pretty hard for an easy. Change the 1,2,3 into a reverse slider, and possibly the 2nd 1,2 into a slider? (see pic)
  11. Hit Sounds: It's been mentioned before, but I really really suggest adding some! Even some Finishes would be nice.
  12. Overall, this is a really nice difficulty and I like your style of mapping to the music.
[Normal]
  1. 00:32:152 (1,2) The distance spacing on this will be really confusing. I highly recommend that you change it!
  2. 01:40:047 - All the sliders: I love what you did here (and the one before it) They don't seem to be snapped to your distance spacing though. I think it looks fine enough though. (Try to find a way to Copy+paste the notes from 01:27:416 and flip them horizontally! It'll make your map look a lot nicer)
  3. I honestly don't have anything much to say about this difficulty. I like it. Keep note that it does use the same Slider Velocity as your easy difficulty. Though it should be fine between easy/normal.
[Hard]
  1. 00:28:995 (1,2) - This is pretty hard to read since the distance spacing between those two and the 2+3 after are almost the same distance apart. Move the 2 a bit further out if possible.
  2. 00:32:152 (1,2) - Same reason as above. A little extra distance between the 1 and 2 would be nice
  3. I like your style on this map as well.
[Insane]
  1. This Difficulty looks a ton better! Looks like it has a bit of life to it anyways.
  2. Bump the Overal Difficulty and the HP Drain Rate up 1 or 2 each.
  3. 00:30:376 (3) - Move this note back to 00:30:179
  4. 00:48:534 (4) - Change this slider to a note, the tail end of the slider sounds like a dead note to me and I highly suggest you don't use it. Or try using a slider from 00:48:534 to 00:48:929 (5)
  5. 00:58:797 (4,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4) These notes seem all jumbled together and it really sounds bad.. Turn this whole section into a spinner (end at 01:00:574 and it should allow a little breathing room before the next part)
  6. 01:27:416 - I love this part! Very fun to play.

Overall these are some nice maps and I really suggest you go work on hit sounds, and such. Good luck!

it's mean, you need to put end point of that object on tick (red or white)

*Some off spacing has place here... some notes too far from others, etc... It's acceptable to Hard/Insanes have jumps and sometimes anti-jumps (not all Hards have they), since usually are played by the Pro (or anyone in evolution too). I'm not totally against them, since used according to how song parts "feels", making them intuitive or at least predictable. Otherwise, players are tempted to do an early click down early (on closer notes) or get frustrated by not reach certain notes on time (jumps), breaking a combo. -- that's the reason these kind of patterns are not to be used at Easy/Normal diffs.

00:05:902 (2) - Too closer from previous note (anti-jump)
00:06:889 (1) - Too far from previous (jump)
00:16:955 (1) - Too closer from previous. Like an example, this one could be fixed by set 00:16:955 (1) to x:200 y:192 and 00:17:349 (2) to x:104 y:216
