had been meaning to answer this earlier, it would be loosely accurate of me

it's more of a compulsion and addiction, and i don't really know why i rationalize it
i think it's affected by me having been there from the very beginning, and knowing i've invested as much time into it as i have, while also being motivated to dominate the leaderboard again because of nearly having lost that #1 position to westtle

i really could have just left it there and allowed the tofu block to continue freely, without opposition

but now i'm the one compelled to iive my days here, when i don't really know whether i want to (and i certainly do not need to). i only revisited this forum because it was the next most accessible place to be, a place i left behind but was generally familiar with... and in allowing myself to be a slave to habit, i've mostly opted to make the most of my time here while i have the opportunity to do so

but pragmatically, this is no way to live-- although i wasn't really living anyways, so this was only another nail in that hypothetical/potential coffin

a "sweaty gamer" it is, for what little it's worth

Embarrassingly, no, quite the opposite. Not having paid particularly much attention to English classes in high school, I ended up doing rather poorly in literary analysis. (Borrowed my friend's notes for Fahrenheit 451 and Merchant of Venice.) When I went into my junior year, the questions became more philosophical and I actually enjoyed those more.

Now, onto visual novels... Now that I share opinions with others on what I think of each one, I realised that analysis is a good skill to have. However, I get too much into it and relate it to my personal life experiences (and the philosophical studies mentioned above) to an unreasonable extent. Knowing that others give strong opinions, I too felt the need to press my opinions strongly on others as well. To put it simply, the response others give me is "it's not that deep".

Perhaps it's just me pretending that I'm an experienced adult even though I'm only 20 years old, but I've grown out of some things that others my age still enjoy. For example, the "childish friend" archetype in anime, if not done right, can be off-putting for me. Again, overthinking fiction versus reality is my downfall when I'm supposed to be enjoying these kinds of media.

The next person didn't fully read everything I just said. (And I wouldn't blame you.)
synthwavesquid
hah! i did! (also just because someone thinks you're looking into something too deeply/ doesn't mean there's no basis in what you see [in fact, what you personally get from it is important imo]. i find "the curtains are just blue" logic is one of many things that has rotted people's relationship with media/art. also, i mean, differing tastes and losing interest in some things is just inevitable and tbh i don't think anything's wrong with that on its own)

(then again i have zero reference for what you mean by unreasonable so...)

there should be a non-zero probability of it, but i don't have a distinct memory so much as a vague impression that it likely happened... but i doubt i can really prove it to myself without an apparent and credible memory

i read it and thought the explanation was really compelling! :> and honestly, not really something i would shame you for either

i generally bristle at phrases like "it's not that deep", partly because i'm a recipient of this typically-dismissive sentiment as well and i frequently attach myself to any description/explanation i would have, whether for fiction or not. any interpretation will usually have significance to me, whether by the merits of the content or by the contexts underlying the speaker's perspective within the composition of that interpretation. it wouldn't mean i necessarily understand it, but i'd echo what synth said, your perspective probabilistically has at least some salient basis grounded in experiences i haven't had and knowledge/insight i haven't gleaned/absorbed/trusted yet

that being said, it doesn't need to be "that deep" for other people, and it isn't my obligation to prove anything to anyone-- although i'm normally compelled to share for anyone that could enjoy/use whatever perspective i might have and carry it for later reference. if it isn't apparently useful/valuable to the person in question, then it simply isn't in that moment. ultimately, though, it is important in some way to you, and the meaning you derive from it is yours to cherish and weigh alongside past/present/future observations ^^

once a year with a cracked version, maybe? but it becomes too much for my computer after a couple hours, and i typically have to close every single application i reasonably can in order to run it smoothly with non-intensive graphics/render settings

i dont really know what i wanna do when i play, so a lot of that playtime is spent on listlessly wandering and finding somewhere to live and maybe building a home in survival/creative, often times with my most memorable creations extending to the nether (a scenic mixture of branching tunnels inside cliffsides and an eventual netherrite mining site), but...

it takes a lot of time, and i'm often a bit too bored by my own directionless gameplay

Achromalia
true only in the sense that i dont maintain accounts for interaction or any kind of following, but i am usually a lurker of at least some of those social media platforms for one reason or another, visiting irregularly but frequently. im normally too susceptible to my own curiosity to avoid them, although i can achieve the same thing by simply forgetting they were relevant once there is something else to be occupied with

=×=

the next user intently studies human behavior but does not believe they can reliably or accurately characterize it yet
reffty_gag
no ???

next user love themself
Achromalia
...that might be complicated

i would love (familial? queerplatonic? hard to describe accurately) a replica of me, but i would not love myself, specifically because i'm the arbitrator of this self while that replica is separate from me and happens to be a copy of me with their own otherwise-identical conscience, differentiated simply by our independent thoughts from there onward

it's easier to love the person that i happen to be when this isn't me. i would take care of my replica, my replica may take care of me. i often imagine a collective of replicas in this fashion

i don't always loathe myself, sometimes i treasure and adore a lot about who i am, but that's frequently been subject to change, depending on what i've most recently observed and how that relates to me
