im not sure if im good at describing this right now bc i just started waking up but...
i will try to simplify it for right now:
the original post of the thread describes and illustrates some of the basics of the game... you want to get as many points as you can! if more time passes without someone else posting, then more points are available for you to get when you post
roughly, "each minute equals one point" is a close enough guideline, but if you wait for a longer time, then the point-value of each minute actually increases! this is because there is a funky exponent/logarithm equation thing (i dont know what it means exactly) in the scoring, where any posts below 60 minutes mean you get <1 point for each minute and any posts above 60 minutes mean you get >1 point for each minute!
for example:
+ if you post 32 minutes after someone, you can expect to get 30 points (less points than minutes)
+ if you post 60 minutes after someone, you can expect to get exactly 60 points
+ if you post 90 minutes after someone, you can expect to get 94 points!! (more points than minutes)
(also, a friend named nicnock made a graph for the relationship of points over a certain amount of time in this post, to show how many points you get for any given amount of time that passed until you posted)
however, it gets complicated for a very simple reason... other people! other people want all those points too, and so you're not just playing with time but also the patterns of other people. if they post before you can, you can't get any points and have to wait again, so the idea is usually that if one person normally waits 30 minutes to post, you want to post before they can (think 25 minutes), but not so soon where you get too few points for the time you spent :O
but in the end, the principle is simple-- more time, more points ^^

you can play any way you want really, and if you like playing competitively and have time for it then there are strategies for how the game works in more detail-- but a lot of us do mainly just play for fun!

and unfortunately that does happen sometimes... lately i've begun to use the "bookmark with notifications" feature in the bottom-left, this tends to update the notification bell at the top right as well as the tab title

ps!expunged: "just lay in bed and talk about what we did that day until we fall asleep."
ps!bandu: "we used to be more rough with eachother when we were younger,, now due to the infection making me weaker/more prone to injury, se has to be more gentle with me. we show affection the same as we used to, just add me sometimes licking seir hair as if it was fur ^^"
