THIS THREAD EXISTS ALREADY and you'd know if you paid more attentionHiryuu wrote:
awp is inside this post and he says: Check out this post for the download - we might also wish to move the VA discussions there, too. This thread is forcriticizing Lolginer endlesslydiscussion on model development exclusively I suppose?
I'm right here, but I don't have much to say about the VA samples (other than a "We did it" at the end of the song being a bad idea IMO), and I can't model right now (that HDD is unplugged), so I'm just lurking.awp wrote:
And where are Lolginer and Loofah =(
I say, ignore the competition (and put 5ku112 on your ignore list) and keep trying, unless the majority say otherwise. No one worth mentioning has said anything bad about you or your VA samples.Hiryuu wrote:
Naw, I drop out, it's all good okay? I was really happy about working with you guys and was super enthusiastic, but then I just felt like it didn't matter anymore. Either way, Rina-chan can have it. I wouldn't make the cut anyway, I'm not experienced. Thanks again though
Fine, but it's full of mixed tris/quads, and I haven't removed any unnecessary geometry from the hair yet.awp wrote:
I wanna take a closer look at the muscle definition and overall structure of the skull if I can. Are you able to save the head as a .blend file? If not, I might be able to read a .3ds (import recognizes them, but I'm not sure which versions are supported). I've been doing a bit of cranial modeling lately and I think it'd be easier for me to attack this thing if I could see it from whatever angle and magnification I need.

what I've found helps for making them look pretty, is using edge loops.
granted the head below needs some major work, the face does look pretty doesn't it?
I don't really see a change; lolginer just hasn't yet put proper eyebrows/eyelashes on the new head model yet.Larto wrote:
I believe especially the change of the eyes helped to make her look more realistic and adorable ;P
I mean the eyes are smaller now. It looks lots better. Pippi looks kinda frightening in Loginer's last model. The eyes are giant there.awp wrote:

Hi folks!
Well, I've been away from all the osu stuff recently mainly because I have been busy with a LOT of crap. My own projects, making preparations to leave the country, etc, etc.
Anyway! I noticed that in osu the the chibi Pippi I drew is being used for the 30+ combo count. Well, I decided to make a specific image for the combo thingy: This image should be ready to use straight away.

Why the flip?
What neo@lex was pointing out was when I originally posted the png, it was corrupted and was not showing anything from the waist down. The reason this image is from shoulders up only, or rather, a bust shot is because in OTO/EBA the are also bust shots.peppy wrote:

also the comboburst dimensions seem a bit strange? as neo@lex said, a bit more body would work well.
Okay sure, but comboburst images hould be limited to around 388x767 (roughly 1:2 aspect ratio) . Your image is 800x800 which is just far too big (and will take up most of the screen) for osu!.Sarumaru wrote:

Sorry, but that probably wouldn't look right in 3D.adamskii_uk wrote:
You also need to make her eyebrows float in front of her face & hair, like on the pic below. :)
Are you using the envelopes? I never got the hang of those things, so i usually just manually set the weights. It's not as hard as it sounds. lol. I've also never used CAT though. Good luck!Loginer wrote:
If anyone's wondering why I'm still doing these little tweaks, it's because skinning Pippi is harder than I thought, if only because CAT is forcing me to use Skin instead of Physique. D:
Anyway, as soon as I wrap my head around this modifier, I'll post a few new pics and attempt to create a neat wallpaper. If you really want to see Pippi fight a refrigerator while kicking a hamster with her heels or something equally retarded, post your request here.
Do it.JarJarJacob wrote:

Isn't there another rule saying you can't request that? I thought rule 35 was that if you can't find it you have to make your ownneo@lex wrote:
I request Rule 34.
I would settle for punching air in time with the notes. Serious punching. Jumping around the screen 'punching a swarm of flies to death' punching.Loginer wrote:
They just waved their arms from side to side, IIRC. Either way, there's not much of a discussion to derail in here. We should definitely focus on the dancing, and try to develop a unique set of dance moves rather than ripping everything straight out of Ouendan/EBA.
That'd be neat. She could be programmed to punch in the direction of the hitcircles as they are hit.JarJarJacob wrote:

Fuck yes, Running in the 90s Easy will be AWESOME.JarJarJacob wrote:
So, sliders should be punching to the ticks?LuigiHann wrote:

I'm up for an exaggerated karate dance style. Mostly punching, but in different styles.Loginer wrote:
While punching the hitcircles would be neat, that alone would get repetitive after a while, and I'm not sure how feasible it would be to code that. Now, could we please try to come up with some sort of "moveset" instead of focusing on how awesome punching things would be? :\
Just 2 dance styles would be enough, 1 for each soundset. In the situation that a map switches soundsets several times, there would be a 'Don't inherit dance style' check box, in case you don't want pippi to switch from 'slow and sad' to 'bouncing up and down like a tween on unprescribed Ritalin' on the spot.awp wrote:
Having different sets of styles would almost be a must, I would think. You don't want her to be bouncing up and down like a tween on unprescribed Ritalin when the song is slow and sad.
How about putting her in osu!, rather than Pokémon Stadium? That would be brilliant!kideddie1501 wrote:

It's not hard at all, it's not even on the priority list. It's as simple as editing a few .png files you'll find right next to the .x file, although I should probably write these things down somewhere instead of expecting people to be psychic.LuigiHann wrote:
She only has one color, it shouldn't be too hard to make that adjustable. But I'd call that a pretty low priority relative to, you know, putting her in the game and having it work.
