----

For all of you folks that are downloading the packs and haven't noticed it yet. I have been working on a stable, fast and unrestricted mirror for these. It's my contribution to the osu!Bancho project and i hope it helps all of you that, for whatever reason, cannot or do not want to donate to get osu!direct access.

You can find it @ http://osu.yas-online.net

Feel free to tell the people about it and use it as much as you wish!

Here a few tips for ingame use:

If you are in multiplayer and the host chooses a map that you don't have you have a nice way to access the mirror from ingame without using the mirrors search function. Here a little example:

Let's say the host chooses "Silver Fores - Sadistic Love"

Here you can take the song title "Sadistic Love", replace all the space with + and append it to "http://osupacks.ppy.sh/f#"

It should look like this: http://osupacks.ppy.sh/f#Sadistic+Love (Try it!)

Another example is when the host chooses a map that would be found more than 1 times just like "Amane - Boozehound". Here an example how you can easily solve this:

1. Ask the host to do /np
2. Hover your mouse over the link and read the number after /s/
3. Append the number to "http://osu.yas-online.net/m#"

It should look like this: http://osu.yas-online.net/m#9995 (Try it!)

If the host does not do the /np thing you can try this last method:

OLD Version (still works): http://osu.yas-online.net/f/?query=hatsune+miku (this will auto translate to the new version!)
New Version: http://osu.yas-online.net/f#hatsune+miku

Where hatsune+miku would be a part of the map name, or the full map name.

Another side note:
If you are using an AdBlocker (like AdBlockPlus), please disable it to help me pay for the server. I thank all of you that do this! - Ads have been removed by personal request of peppy, sorry.

This is awesome :)

Wrong forum; moved. Also, since you have added ads I will have to remove the links and this post unless you are willing to remove them.

Update: Looks like they are removed.

I changed the download system, hotlinking is now blocked. That should not affect you if you didn't get links from someone else. I also changed the downloads to use x-sendfile which enables you to use a download manager. This makes it possible for you to pause/resume downloads and allows you to use multiple download threads (for those of you that know what i am talking about).

I fixed a problem where FireFox would not get the right file name for the download.

As a second report i was told jdownloader doesn't work, will see about that. :)

Updated the entire codebase and changed the way it works!

I am happy to present
Beatmap Pack Mirror v2

http://osu.yas-online.net/

Main changes:
  1. Design/Layout completly redone
  2. Cookie that stores your downloads is now compressed (For slow connections this increases load speed!)
  3. Downloads start instantly now
  4. "Copy ingame Text" button added for easy ingame sharing! (Now also for Packs!)
  5. Operates with AJAX to reduce loadtimes and increase browsing speed!
  6. Localized the page for: German, English, Japanese, Dutch, Chinese, Korean (more will be added!)
  7. I increased the overall bandwith to 3MByte/sec per IP
Have fun!

*phew* done already :P

Seems quite promising, but I can't seem to download maps individually - keeps saying that the file couldn't be found on the server. :?

My bad! I fixed it, sorry for that~ D:
Hanyuu
Great website, thanks :)
I used it to download all the beatmaps and it was alot fast and easier than mediafire
peppy
Two things I noticed which make me frown:

* The font is as ugly as Comic Sans (and the fallback is Comic Sans itself).
* The downloads have an ugly [YAS-online] prefix or whatever. Completely unnecessary in my opinion.

Aw, it's kind of a cute font
peppy
Cute maybe, but I have trouble reading it (on OS X at least).

I have no trouble reading it, also try hovering on a map. D:

hoho cool site D:

and the downloads has resume capability too \:D/

That's why i changed to x-sendfile, it's peppy's fault that i know about it. (I even installed it to my apache2 because of him :D)
kidek
I'm using OS X too and have no problem reading the font.

nanashiRei
  1. Font nuked out of the style. I use a websafe font now that is ugly as hell but readable.
  2. Added live stats to the header
  3. Added Google+ button next to the navigation (Press it! :D)
  4. Added disclaimer (some angry kid annoyed me with his packs being 'plagerized' by me)
  5. Fixed an issue with IE7 not loading the packs right (God please kill Microsoft)
peppy
Please change the file naming format to the standard osu! format. When osz2 is introduced, all the maps downloaded without the standard format will need to be redownloaded.
Topic Starter
nanashiRei
Give me the formating rules then please. Althought i will only change it for the maps, not for the packs, the tag was a request by someone that was as follows:

"Can you add some kind of tag to your filenames so they show up next to each other after downloading? My download folder is a mess and this would help."

:)
peppy
12345 - Artist - Title.osz

Wait what? So I gotta have to redownload like all 2000 maps I have or what?
peppy
If they are not in the correct filename structure, you could potentially rename them.
Topic Starter
nanashiRei
I wonder, why would osu! not import them just because the filename is different? Isn't all the informations in the map itself anyway?
peppy
It is used as metadata hints where otherwise unavailable.
Topic Starter
nanashiRei
Oh well, whatever.

  1. Removed tags from filenames (will be adding it back to packs once i feel like it)
  2. Changed beatmap filenames to #ID - #Map.osz (I don't really have Artist and Title so i just rip the part from the filename in the rar archives :()
peppy
Adding it to packs is fine really, but still ugly and pointless.

As per report by qinche:
but i do find a "bug", where if i press a map link on homepage, it goes back to english ver from chinese ver, i dont kno if this is happening to other languages.
I fixed this:
  1. Language won't fall back to english when you click a map within a package
  2. Language won't fall back to english when you click a search result
Thanks qinche for the report.

oh! More than 400GB worth of songs...
I guess I'll have to go to a 1TB HDD someday...

And thanks for that mirror, too great!!!

What happened now on the site?

You got it wrong that's the traffic display for the current month.

Because of this, updated:

  1. Stats display now shows disc usage
  2. Stats have been labled for clarification
------- EDIT ----------
More stuff was added:

  1. http://osu.yas-online.net/linkgrabber - this will grab you a list of links to ALL PACKS (Default & Themes) that are available. This can be used with JDownloader (Linkgrabber).
Please note that the links in the file will most likely only work for 24h, except if you have a static ip.
ampzz
Very nice idea for those who, like myself utilise download queue add-ons or programs for grabbing multiple files quickly and easily compared to manually clicking each individual link.

I used this a fair bit when I was starting off my osu! beatmap collection.

Currently the Server is experiencing some difficulties because of our hoster, should be over tonight. Sorry for inconvinience.

-- EDIT --

Someone asked me to do this:
http://getsatisfaction.com/osu_bmp_mirr ... ongs-x77xj

if anybody else would like this, let me know.
Topic Starter
nanashiRei
  1. Removed the Link-Grabber from the navigation. It's still there, but it produces a lot of false traffic due to missuse. Please only use it when you intent to download the whole thing, not if you only want 10 packs!
  2. Added Polish to list of locales - Thanks Bass-chan
And a word of thanks to everyone who supports me with advertising this! I love this community :)
Galkan

nanashiRei wrote:

I sent you a list with corrections.

Bass - if you don't know our grammar rules nor the general "feeling" of language - don't even start translating stuff. It'd be better for you if you left that in English. By your action you've only made a tard of yourself. Again.
Topic Starter
nanashiRei
  1. Fixed Polish language arcording to Galkan's suggestions.
  2. Fixed minor bug in download script
  3. Improved overall performance by compressing data
Another thing, i am still looking for
  1. Russian
  2. French
translators. If you are intressted you can check http://pastie.org/2485010 and translate it to your language, but check to see if it's on the top right first! You only need to translate the parts in "" ->

Every translation is much appreciated! :)

I managed to get the jdownloader team to add official support for the mirror. It will be included in the next update that is scheduled to be released in 1-2 weeks. It will make you able to just copy the link to a pack from your address bar and jdownloader will automagically detect it's a download. Just like with rapidshit and megafail etc.

I also added Social Bookmark buttons to the upper right of the page, so if you are registered with Twitter or Digg you can help spreading word of my mirror.

Happy Leeching :)

  1. Added indonesian locale to the list of languages - Thanks Nivalis
  2. Changed the Supporter lists style to be more compact and less stupid. Click a supporter to see his signature image :D

Absolutely useful.

Edit: Turkish translation has sent.

Note to translators: make a doublecheck if everything is done properly and doesn't sound like a gramarless mumbling (which happened to polish one). Please save your and nanashiRei's time.

Mirror down for Maintenance until futher notice.

Some funky guy decided to mount a harddrive in XEN's dom0 while it was mounted in it's domU, the partition is damaged and i need to redo a lot of things.

But don't worry it'll be back very soon!

----

Problems solved. God am i relieved nothing got lost over this.

----

  1. Added russian locale to the list of languages - Thanks Natteke
Now only french is left! Someone? Anyone? :D

----

  1. Added french locale to the list of languages - Thanks Sushi
----

  1. Official jDownloader support is available! (since 15.Sep 2011)
  2. Linkgrabber added to navigation (again)
Make sure your jDownloader updates before you try it, or else it will not work ;)
Topic Starter
nanashiRei
As an after effect to the prior incedend the harddrive partition is probably giving up right now.

Expect downtimes and instable downloads (in other words avoid using the mirror) until futher notice.

:(

nanashiRei
Problem has been resolved, however there where many errors to be corrected.

Also:

  1. Implemented use of "Local Storage" which is supported in all major browsers (if you use a recent version) **
** This will improve speeds by storing images and scripts in your browsers cache. It is also different from the normal cache since this one does not ask the server via HTTP first if the file was changed. This increases speed a lot. For me it is a reduction from 5.0sec to 1.2sec :)

If you encounter problems with the local storage please consider not using Internet Explorer or FireFox 1.0 D:

This project is now officially supported by peppy (or osu!, choose whatever you like)(i guess).

This means it's using a new URL: http://osupacks.ppy.sh

I updated the first post regarding this change. You will also be auto redirected to the new url (and you will probably not even notice that anything has changed).

Have fun! :3

We are currently updating the dom0 (Xen) of our server which will take a while. While that is the case you page might seem online, but it is NOT.

I will as always report back when we are done.

@Pesets and the osu!droid faction: Download will NOT be working while we update. And in addition i am rewriting the part that accepts osu!droid downloads and thus i can take up to 48 hours after the server is back online for the downloads to work again.

Excuse my bad english i am LE TIRED D:

A little bit of moving and a bit of punching a server config and the mirror will be back. I'd guess a bit about 12 hours. Stay tuned :)

Update 22:52 GMT+1:
File are moving, configs are done. If you get "File not found" error: It simply means the file you requested has not been moved to the new server, yet.

Update 0:51 GMT+1:
All done mirror is fully operational again! I'll add the new packs tommorrow tho~ i am tired.

Sorry about the not working downloads in the last 5-8 hours. Apache configs went out of sync. Is working again now.
