You can disable that if you're okay with having the game letterboxed in the middle of the screen. Just hold start and select as you boot up the game.

So, hey guys, release dates. The time between DS releases is a little ridiculous, yes, but it was only a problem with the DSi XL (especially considering the fact that they released info about the 3DS exactly one week away from the US launch of the DSi XL). I'd give it more than a few months. In fact, I'd give them more than a year, at least, seeing how it's a new console with a completely new library of games being released.Wikipedia, DS model release dates, NA/JP wrote:
Nintendo DS - 21 November 2004 (NA)/2 December 2004 (JP)
Nintendo DS Lite - 2 March 2006 (JP)/11 June 2006 (NA)
Nintendo DSi - 1 November 2008 (JP)/5 April 2009 (NA)
Nintendo DSi XL - 21 November 2009 (JP)/28 March 2010 (NA)
Let me add Kid Icarus: Uprising, Star Fox 64 3D and Super Mario Bros 3D to that.Der_Locher wrote:
Paper Mario 3DS, Super Mash Bros 3DS, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3DS....
Holy shit, that's a great game library!
But honestly, i'll wait half a year longer for the Nintendo 3DS Lite
The price really isn't that bad, and I think the release games are being underrated. I had lots of fun with Super Monkey Ball 3D and Super Street Fighter 3D, besides that I've seen Pilotwings Resort and it really shows the 3D at its bestIkillforpies wrote:

Also, (this is just my opinion) I doubt there will be a Nintendo 3DS Lite, I know the DS has been ''remade'' plenty of times too, but the 3DS pretty much already has every one of those ''upgrades'' each new version of the DS got.
There's been a serious decrease in Nintendo's profits over the last few years. The decline in the popularity of the Wii and the DS has predominantly affected this. To resolve this they've introduced this 3DS gimmick and have announced the Wii 2.adam2046 wrote:

Because, you know, it's everyone's job to buy every single model of Nintendo handheld. The general market for hardware revisions are those who never owned the older versions or those whose old ones broke down.adam2046 wrote:

A brighter/sharper screen and better battery life would be a nice place to start.adam2046 wrote:
Although I have a hard time imagining what a 3DS revision would look like if they release one, since the original DS, Gameboy and Gameboy Advance were giant chunks of plastic and their revisions were like tiny delicate wafers in comparison. 3DS is about the same as the Lite...

The AR games are amazing, a little FPS laggy if you move too fast though which sucks. You also need a fair bit of light to get them working.
I only have super monkey ball and rayman but they suck. :/
Waiting for Zelda, Dragonquest and pokemanz to be honest.
Yeah, I know, I'm just not willing to pay for the extra technology I'm not able to use.Azure_Kyte wrote:

The compensation for us early adopters is 20 free GBA and NES games (50/50 split), BTW. About $50 total was saved over here due to a Target deal anyways. So, 20 free games - all of which are pretty solid first-party titles so far - for $30 is satisfying for me.awp wrote:

That's exactly what I've been doing, actually. The circle pad is so much more comfortable than the DS's control pad.awp wrote:

Well, there's something.Nintendo Australia wrote:
Nintendo Australia plan to offer an exclusive Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program to consumers who have purchased the Nintendo 3DS at the original launch price. The program will enable those Nintendo 3DS owners to download 10 NES™ games and 10 Game Boy™ and Game Boy Advance™ games for free from the Nintendo eShop.
These free games are available to anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS system and uses a wireless broadband Internet signal to connect to the Nintendo eShop at least once before the price drop on 12 August. These users will automatically be registered in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program. The program contains two elements:
1. Starting 1 September, Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES Virtual Console™ games at no charge and before they are available in the Nintendo eShop to the general public. These games, including Super Mario Bros.™, Donkey Kong Jr.™, Balloon Fight™, Ice Climber™ and The Legend of Zelda™, are slated to become paid downloadable games, but Ambassadors get them early for free. Once the paid versions of the games are posted to the Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost.
2. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi’s Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3, Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™ Inc.: Minigame Mania and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future.

Yeah, it's actually about as small as a DS Lite. It's probably a tad bigger but it still fits into my old DS Lite case.awp wrote:
The 3DS is already pretty small - almost uncomfortably so, I'd argue. Very little of the inner surface area is not occupied by screens or buttons
I already read that he just shows up in Traverse Town here. It would be cool if SE started incorporating some levels based on their better non-FF games once they run out of good Disney movies to use. I still just want some Pixar stuff the most, though.NoHItter wrote:

Screw that. I forgot that they don't make original SquareEnix worlds for KH. We'll likely get an Auron.

Following the destruction of "Ansem" and Xemnas at the hands of Sora and Riku, Xehanort is revived. In response, Yen Sid decides to put Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mastery Exam in order to become full-fledged Keyblade Masters and counter Xehanort's threat...So maybe this game takes place just before the Mark of Mastery and prepares Sora and Riku to it in virtual spaces?
...According to an interview, Nomura said the game will take part, at least partially, on the Mark of Mastery.

I do a similar thing with Starfox. The real problem for me is that during intense situations, I don't always sit still and will move my head to one side or another and need to dedicate some mental effort into re-aligning myself with the screen.Mianki wrote:
