Maybe the diffs you're playing are beyond you're skill or you just lack consistency.
Playing to beat other people doesn't sound like a fulfilling goal, you'll always find someone better than you. But if you really want to stroke your ego that badly then just join a beginners lobby that play maps below 3 stars.
You'll always find someone better than you, that's the entire point
Grind stops only once one is satisfied with their skill and accepts that they can't surpass someone
Untill i run out of people that i can realistically surpass i will push my limits
I don't really want to criticise other's playstyles too much. But you can absolutely push your limits without comparing yourself to others, especially when the only variables that osu has in order to compare yourself are very limited, the only metric that people tend to use is PP, and that is by no means a full indication of one's skill level.
Instead of choosing to be better than other people, I'd rather just be a better version of myself. More fun, less pressure and still improve. Also gives me more freedom in what I choose to improve. If my sole goal is to be better than others then I would only be motivated to push Aim and Speed, and that feels like an incredibly boring way to play this game tbh.
