Both work equally the same for me
i tap everything that's mapped in 1/2 and sometimes 1/4 depending on BPM, and if necessary i use S with my left trigger finger to stream along with tapping on my tablet.

I dual tap EVERYTHING from single notes to high speed streams. I start streams with my index finger unless the stream is starting from a slider and I'm doing the slider with my index finger, then I start the stream with my middle finger. Doesn't really matter with which finger I start a stream anyway.

I just had this thought... what if i tried to play osu! standard taiko style, with two hands?

Index finger on left mouse button.
I use my index on the left mouse most of the time and I use my middle and index on the right and left mouse respectively for quick triples.
I use my index finger + middle when streaming/triplets since I only play with my mouse
most of time using the index finger and when it goes to long i change to the middle finger for a bit. sometimes i only press with the middlefinger or pen too. after sliders i like to change finger for 1 more note

So you have some sort of condition where you have two index fingers

Index finger normally but if i have to singletap above 160 it's somewhat easier with middle finger
I do singles with my index finger but lead all streams/alternating with my middle finger.
