First came the battle to win it all and the title of Champions of the Box, then came the quest to free Dafren from the Evil Wizard Ignite, and now, for the third year in a row, it's back! A dungeon has been uncovered in the world of osu!, and hidden inside it is the ultimate treasure: the secrets to getting good at osu!. It's time for:
The Battle of the Box 2024: Da Frengeon!
This iteration will be played in a 2v2 format with teams of 3. The top 32 teams will be granted entry into the dungeon, where they'll face trials and tribulations to reach the treasure room of Da Frengeon...
Some general things that you need to know:
• This tournament will be a single-elimination bracket played in ScoreV2.
• The entire tournament will be played with a non-standard mappool format; mappools will not increase nor decrease in size after the Round of 32.
• All match times will be in UTC.
• Lobbies and matches may not be rescheduled later than 24 hours before the match unless due to a sudden uncontrollable emergency*. [Definition found in Procedural Rules (Knockouts)]
• All players MUST join the discord, and their display name in the server must be the same as their osu! username for the duration of the tournament. Failure to join before the Qualifiers commence will equate to disqualification.
• Any and all feedback is expected to be detailed and conveyed respectfully in the designated location. In addition, all rules listed in the Discord server are expected to be followed, both in and out of the tournament. Sufficient punishment will be applied accordingly for rule-breakers.
Please note that all rules are subject to change during the tournament for clarifications and/or adjustments as necessary.

Qualifier Round Rules
Stan Full Area• Every registered team is required to play the qualifiers mappool once. There are no exceptions, and there are no retries.

• In the event that a team were to miss their scheduled lobby, they are allowed to reschedule to a different lobby. Due to the restrictive timeline, however, they must reschedule as soon as possible.

Last Chance Bracket Round Rules
xooty stinky -fulserish• The final 6 losing teams will be eligible to compete in a Last Chance Bracket.
• The aforementioned teams will be determined as follows: the top 3 scoring losing teams from Quarterfinals, the losing teams from Semifinals, and the loser from the Finals.
• The order of appearance in the Losers' Bracket will be determined by two factors: the round which the losing team was eliminated, and the score achieved by the team in the losing match.
• In the event that any of the scores are tied in their respective rounds, the overall scores of the two tied teams from all rounds to that point in the tournament will be calculated; the team with the highest cumulative score will move on.
• In the event of a double-tie, the team with the higher seeding will take precedence.
• The following procedural rules will apply for the Last Chance Bracket Round:
• The captains of each team will determine what method they wish to use to ban pools.
• If the captains have decided to select their banned pools, each captain will DM the referee their choice of ban. If both teams select the same pool, the referee will !roll 2 to determine the other banned pool.
• If no consensus is reached within 5 minutes, or the captains have opted to leave the played pool to chance, the referee will !roll 3 twice (or as many times as necessary) to determine the banned pools.

Procedural Rules (Knockouts)
• If at least two players from one team are not present in the match lobby 15 minutes later than the scheduled match time, the match is forfeited regardless of circumstance. No rescheduling may be conducted during this time period, assuming the referee and/or a host/co-host hasn't been informed of a sudden uncontrollable emergency* from the opposing team.
• In the unlikely event that neither of the two teams are present, both will be required to forfeit, and whoever the winner and/or loser would face in the next round will receive a bye.
• Both captains will !roll to determine the pick/ban/warmup order.
• The winner of roll gets the second ban, the first pick, and the first choice of warmup (if applicable).
• The loser of roll gets the first ban, the second pick, and the second choice of warmup (if applicable).
• Warmups are allowed to be up to 5 minutes long (total length, not drain time).
• Map picks will alternate between each of the teams.
• When teams are ready, the referee will type !mp start 10 in #multiplayer.
• The referee will force start the lobby if everyone isn’t ready after the timer has ended, regardless of the circumstance.
• Players should move to their designated slots as assigned by the referee, who is encouraged to move the players to their designated slots in the lobby using the multiplayer commands should the player not comply.
• For the bracket stages, the referee will put a 120-second timer on every map pick and ban.
• If the timer runs out on picking, the pick goes to the other player at the referee's discretion.
• If the timer runs out on banning, the player in question will not get a ban.
• The referee will put a 60-second timer on readying up for every pick after it has been picked (including tiebreaker), unless told otherwise.
• If a player disconnects 30 seconds or less through the map, the map will be retried regardless of the circumstance. This instance may only occur once per match per player. This rule is based on the MP link and nothing else.
• If a disconnect occurs after more than 30 seconds have passed in the map, there will not be an abort; the final score for the disconnected player will come from a screenshot or, should one not be available, from whatever was last shown on the stream.
*Note: A sudden uncontrollable emergency only applies to health and familial issues, such as a sudden health incident or the passing of a family member. This means that, for example, if you are asleep, it does not count as an uncontrollable emergency. If this clause is abused, it will be removed.
