For veteran players of course it easy enough. The aim for 3 star and below was for "beginner"xsrsbsns wrote:
No, normal plays easy enough.
You were wrong in one part: it doesn't need to be below 3 stars, it needs to be at least 3 stars. If you check the actual star rating, it's 3.74 stars, so it's fine.Ayeen wrote:
Just a small protestant here, wasn't suppose to have at least 1 map below 3 star to get ranked?. I do know this map is awesome but tbh, I afraid this map will be example for those who doesn't want to make map under 3 star. As for most, below 3 star is a nuisance to make.
3.74 is higher than 3, but your whole statement is wrong, actually.Firo Prochainezo wrote:

Shit, guys, this is happening a lot lately. Is it that difficult to include another difficulty?peppy wrote:
Each map set must have at least two difficulties, one of which must be below a 3-star difficulty level. This is so that players of all levels of experience are able to enjoy maps of the songs they love

Just map an easier diff and get it ranked separately. iirc correctly, that has been done before.Ephemeral wrote:

Don't you know? You mod AFTER maps are ranked.Glass wrote:
Good god this fucking map was in pending since SEPTEMBER LAST YEAR, bubbled since APRIL and yet you only complain when this gets ranked? Fuck off, atleast try to play the difficulty first, I ain't gonna make a boring map full of 1/1 just to get it under 3 stars, Normal plays PERFECTLY FINE as a normal you would know if you actually tested it.

A controversial is a controversial map to be ranked. You map earlier than we new mappers are, you should know the rules more than we new mappers are. It a valid critics to the BAT who rank this, and I pointed this out in #modhelp too. It is more to "learn from your mistake" here for ranking what is against the rules and fair between mappers who struggling to make those "boring" easy you mention then go "unranked this map". And as Ephermal said it is too late for unranked. It up to him to accept (as harsh critic or positive critic) my criticism or not. About pending period, I've seen map that pending more than 1 year still not ranked.
Calm down, sailor; of course the star rating system is going to be completely inaccurate when you place a single object down. That doesn't say anything about its accuracy with complete maps. And really, do you expect relatively new players to be able to beat that Normal difficulty? I don't care what the BPM is, making a difficulty under 3 stars is not difficult. It doesn't have to be full of 1/1 and be completely boring either regardless of what everyone else does with their maps. You're just making excuses for your own damn incompetence.Glass wrote:
Oh look, 4.44 stars with only 1 note, this must means that it's even harder than my normal right?
No. This rating system is fucking retarded, the normal is 3.74 stars just because of the BPM, if you can't play that, you might wanna go back to playing your TVsized anime stuff, 1 minute and half of 1/1 on a 120 BPM shouldn't be too hard I think .
Yes they would, I've been to multiplayer with a couple friends of mine WHO ARE NEW TO THIS GAME and they all passed the map, they don't even play this game as often as most of people here so don't give me that "it's too hard for newbies" bullshit.Jarby wrote:

That's what I did when I first started the difficulty, full 1/1s and it was still well above 3, so I thought might as well throw in more rhythm than plain 1/1, problem?Jarby wrote:

I don't know who is whining; myself or those of you who're bitching about my map 'slipping by' while all you MATs/BATs were too busy checking your friends' maps to care about anyone else. Oops I might've touched a nerve there, too bad deal with it.Jarby wrote:
Whine all you want, but it's not going to change the fact that your map slipped by and shouldn't have been ranked in its current state.
The main difficulty of this set is [Another], I could've given even less of a fuck and got it approved just by itself, but I decided to throw in some bonus difficulties for those who don't even bother playing approved maps.Jarby wrote:
If you can't make decent difficulties under 3 stars, go get a guest mapper next time.

If it's boring even for yourself then you might very well delete it.senaya wrote:
so what you say is i can go and delete my boring easy diff from my pending map that i mapped specially to follow the "below 3 stars" rule? D:
and then people will complain about how the length differs too much.JesusYamato wrote:
Just saying, you don't have to map the whole song in [easy], you could get away with only mapping 50s or so with full of 1/1 and it'd hav ebeen below 3 stars
You can't speak for everyone with that. I also know many people that would fail miserably at a map of this difficulty. I'm going to assume that your friends are familiar with rhythm games at the very least, but you have to be aware that not everyone is.Glass wrote:

There's more than one way to map a song. In any case, using less objects would have lowered the star rating to under 3 and would have made it accessible to new players as an easier difficulty. By the looks of it, a seperate difficulty probably would have been best.Glass wrote:

See, the reason why I set up my mod queue was to avoid stuff like that. Everyone has their own way of dealing with it, really, but these days people are getting more reluctant to mod their friends' maps just for the sake of it. It has its own stigma attached to it and we all know it's not the best way of handling the daunting amount of pending maps. It's actually completely irrelevant here, so I'm dropping it before you link a bunch of maps that were ranked in a week or something to prove a point.Glass wrote:

If you don't give a fuck, then don't even bother getting anything ranked. I don't know how you can so violently defend something you're so apathetic about in reality.Glass wrote:

They aren't even familiar with rhythm games, the only games we've ever played together are RPGs and FPSs, so yet again, no excuse.Jarby wrote:

Unless I kept some huge unfitting gaps between notes there would've been no way to get it anywhere near 2 stars. So no thanks, I rather just have a Normal.Jarby wrote:

It's actually revelant here, what I'm saying is that it's been in pending for so long, been bubbled for so long and yet only yyy(he's been waiting for me to finish the set), deepsea(he mostly checks old bubbles and not take requests) and Garven(he's been consistenly checking my maps) were nice enough to take a look.Jarby wrote:

Yeah I really wouldn't give a fuck about getting my maps ranked if more than like 20 people actually played whatever's pending on my list.Jarby wrote:
