More regular players' modding also helps someone's map.RemmyX25 wrote:

Anyone who isn't a BAT
You don't need more BATs to mod, you need more regular players to test drive your map.
That's true.0_o wrote:

Everyone with 5 or more ranked maps is now a BAT.
Discuss.
You seem to think that everyone must have the same skills when it comes to beatmapping in order to make the assumption that more ranked maps = more popularanimask wrote:
I think that's slightly prejudice towards all the beatmappers. Ranked beatmaps only show that they seem to get more attention than most people and popularity shouldn't be a major issue when being a BAT.
Uh...but shouldn't be we not ignore those user posts? I mean, what if they had corrections? Unless they were all Star and the like, I would count those corrections too.Gens wrote:
(If you go look at my beatmap threads, ignore the normal user posts; the first BAT finds little to no errors, then bubble and rank it. At least in my recent maps. )
Well, yeah, but most users pull out suggestions I disagree with, and they are small (clap here, new combo), so that's why I said that. Since I'm trying to get my priority up now, I can't avoid those horrible nazis. I was mainly referring to major issues. ;oStarrodkirby86 wrote:

No question, of course I'd love to end up being a BAT. I mean, that probably wont happen for a really, REALLY long time, but if I can ever become one, but it's definitely something for me to strive for. I love listening to other people's favorite songs, what can I say, I'm a music lover =D, and I can't run out of ideas to make a song fun to play and watch. Not to mention, the thought of being able to help out others with their own color-struck song-based designs is something I could really get into. Like watching a person's dream develop into reality before your very eyes...
maybe someday karma (or whatever you prefer to believe, I'll use karma for now) will return the favor.
lol. You're right.awp wrote:

Is there any actual point in posting in this thread and saying "Is there any actual point in posting in this thread and saying "idontwannabebatisucklol"?"?JarJarJacob wrote:

This should have been part of the MAT criteria.Derekku Chan wrote:
Also, creating your own maps and getting them ranked/approved is essential, as well. P:

When you reply, please tell me everything that I still need to do to be a BAT
And if you want you can check my maps, just in case if any of them is good enough to be approved/ranked
EDIT: People have forgotten these good songs...
Don't really agree...Shiirn wrote:

Create your own maps and get them ranked.
Posted: Sat Dec 20, 2008Yeah... this thread is pretty outdated. BATs are no longer chosen the same way they were in 08/09. Now, they are chosen from MATs that show substantial modding expertise. Thus, please see the Think you've got what it takes to be a MAT? thread for more up-to-date information.
