Teacher-centred teaching's are even more tiresome than group activities in this regard. Most of the time when I'm supposed to learn something in that capacity I tend to become absent-minded; even if the topic's actually interesting. But that's not really a problem since most stuff is written down somewhere so I can compensate by solo-learning. And many of the nifty, practical tricks of a trade are passed down while working anyway; making it much easier to keep them in mind as you learn them as you need them.
