I believe that it is. When joining the server, it forces you to play on a 1.17 version of the game. I believe that this means that only new chunks rendered in the server will contain the new ores and whatnot, so you might have to travel into the farlands to experience the new content. Shouldn't be too difficult with a nether highway. Everything already explored should stay the same.

Also, when 1.17 part 2 comes out, I plan on resetting the server and playing on a fresh new world. I will publicly release our current world for download once that happens, should anyone want to continue their progress in singleplayer.
