That is break time and you click the button in the top right of the screen saying "insert break time" there is no other shortcut (nor is there a reason for one.) 
the editor also automatically places them in large gaps of time between objects.
You can also delete the break by right clicking at it (only work if it's the one you manually added, not the game automatically added) or adjust the start time and end time by hover the cursor to them until it has the <--> shape and hold-drag it.
