This is why you shouldn't play MC at like 4 am abraker.abraker wrote:
So I tried to loot a shipwreck but was still unfamiliar with the new swimming mechanics. Last time I played Minecraft was during the 1.8 days. So ofc I got trapped by in the ship's quarters by an underwater zombie. Top it off, with like 6 bubbles of air. I struggled to find the exit, but it was no use. Like a mouse trapped under the snake's wraps I started suffocating, ending a terrible death.
The chain of misfortunes doesn't end there. In my infinite wisdom I did not take a bed with me. My last setpoint was over a thousand blocks away. I had no coordinates either. What was at stake? 64 blocks of iron. 20 blocks of gold. 35 or so diamond. A netherite ingot. My full diamond armor, enchanted nonetheless. Diamond sword. Diamond pickaxe. And a lot more goodies. Pray the minceraft gods I could somehow get to the bottom of that ship located somewhere it is futile to find within the time.
Luck was on my side, however. I did not venture out so far all alone. With me was a companion, Angiekat. She got off a few minutes before the catastrophic tragedy, but she was my only hope. The convo went something like this:
Luck was indeed on my side. She recovered my items... most of them in any case. A lot was lost. The iron, the gold. The diamond was spared, but not my leggings and shoes. Total losses were not catastrophic, but were significant. We shall recover. See you on the minecraft battlefields soon.

ATTENTION!
Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that a recent act of Griefing and Stealing has been committed on the Off-Topic server. After a brief internal investigation, irrefutable proof has been found, showing that abraker95 is GUILTY of breaking rules 1 and 2. Warnings have been issued. The next occurrence will be met with harsher actions.
To undo all damages that had been done, the server will revert to a backup from February 28th, 0044 GMT. Approxiamtely 21 hours ago. I apologize for any inconvenience that this revert may cause you.
Remember.. there will always be a watchful eye over you. Tread carefully...

Iron for slimeball program!
Do you like iron but not like mining for it? Then you are in good luck because I have just opened the iron for slimeball program! Using this program, you can turn your slimeball into shiny iron ingot. Simply go to the tent at teh coordinate -118 30 and take 1 iron ingot for every 1 slimeball you give!
For the sake of your sanity pls dont do a slime farmabraker wrote:
Just 1 iron ingot?
Better off making a slime farm then because I'd get iron faster otherwise
Or at that point make an iron farm myself

Well, it's not that far away if you're talking about the nether.samX500 wrote:

You have as much space as you want.
You have full control over the landscape and won't need to compromise with other player's project.
Cons:
You won't interact with other player as often, not many people will see your build and neither you will you see much of their builds.
If you have farms, it's unlikely that they are going to be loaded while you are away by someone else coming over.
Everytime you need to go to the main area, you will have to walk a very large distance. ALternatively you can spend several hours building a tunnel in the nether.
If you want to connect throught the nether, I built a tunnel. If your portal is close to it, you can maybe connect it to have quick and safe travel through the nether.YyottaCat wrote:

I'm quite poor rn so the only thing I can afford as payment would be a 97% diamond pickaxe barely used.
Or alternatively, it can serve as the OT Communal House for new players or for people who wants to live in it.
Anyhow, feel free to make your base in it.

it's one of the most popular roof designs, i don't know why you didn't use it
also, this is just my personal opinion, but i think using dark oak everywhere isn't a good idea. you can use it on the roofs but i think having the walls be dark oak too just doesn't look very good. you should use a contrasting color for the walls, and since you already have white accents around the build, i think you should put some white on the walls too.
white concrete would be best, but i'm guessing you don't have access to it yet, so using anything white would do.
another thing you should do is strip those dark oak logs. they look much better especially when used with white concrete
this is just coming from a dumdum "builder" tho, so take everything i say with a grain of salt because it might look terrible
place slabs under them then. it doesn't look as thick but still makes it nicer to look atTad Fibonacci wrote:
But with the roofs, doubling down on them would make them looks too thick. And you can't place blocks inside of them properly as a result. So I don't like doing it.
I think it'll look better if you use spruce and dark oak.Tad Fibonacci wrote:

And with the second one, yeah, I actually tried that before. But other types of wood or even white wool, quarts, concrete etc doesn't really mix very well. It looks a bit weird. (at least without texture packs)
So in my experience, using one type of wood is better than mixing. At least for these types of houses.
And the colour I chose was from a picture I found online too, so I wanted to stay true to that pic.
it could be worseabraker wrote:
