Yes there're many solo diffs with 1/4 finishes but there're also lots of them without 1/4 finishes... ._.

Not easy to find them out though :3



d d k d d d k d ... is the pattern that adopted in most maps, but usually there're more variation in harder diff ._.

ddddddddddd/kkkkkkkkkkk usually appear in some very old maps so probably we won't choose them =P

Well, osu-diffs should be added if they're good, really. The problem is the SV too.

SV isn't a problem unless they're far too slow (like SV0.8 or lower), too high (SV2.0 or higher, or high BPM with quite high SV), odd shift of SV to give difficulty in reading note...
SV 1.4 is only the usual practice of namco but we don't really need to follow that one :3

Sure some osu! diffs are fun, but are they what we need in a tournament? It could end up going from whoever can actually hit these patterns to whoever can keep their rhythm on rolls and accuracy in high OD.

The only problem I can see by using osu! maps is the SV.
But patterns are not really that big problem. I mean we know the maps, so I don't belive that some one took KKkKKkkKKkk maps or so.

Some osu! maps have also a good Taiko beat. Somtimes it's better then a Taiko map it self, honestly.
So don't using osu! diff's could be maybe also boring? I dunno.

I think speed changing or speedy map( fast SV or High BPM) is some kind of challenge to the player
of course it should not be unplayable like Hatsune Miku - Hatsune Miku no Shuuen [demise]

but I think some can be added into the pool to make to game more interesting...

About the pattern, it will depend on what level of map you wanted to take
or what standard you like to take on choosing winner( Their skills or their accuracy )

Still, some maps like Len - U.N. Owen was her? [lepidon! - Taiko Oni] is a bit too hard for some players
I don't think they should appear in early battles.

Ok, 137 songs in mappool will be fine, I guess. somewhat lacks very hard maps, but I'll gonna make some maps if it's really needed. (lol)

By the way, isn't it clear now that easy songs will be choosen at the beginning and hard songs at the end?
Or is it still the question, which maps should be choosen?

The difficulty of making diffs for competition is that we can reach less modders and we have to finish it internally ._.

well I'm ok for that :3

Clearly there's a general trend of increasing difficulty when the match goes into later stage.

Maybe I could help out with broadcasting some matches -although I'm a player myself and probably not available 24/7-, my internet tends to be good but I need to test this. I'll need assistance on how to do it then, too, though. :/.

Maybe I set registration period too long? I'm not sure cause some teams are still gathering their members.

Anyway I can't change the time for now, it's too sudden. Currently I guess the first match will be held in April 15th or 16th.

Edit: @lepidopodus: It's better to have a longer 'registration time limit'. Means more players and you can pratice few day's more for it.
And the important thing is you have a longer time to see when do you have time; can you play in this time line.

So yes... uh... much as it pains me to bend the rules... and... hurts me to... not invite in the back-up or back-back-up...


I've been recommended to invite Super_Banana to the team. If he can't join, I'll go hardcore searching for someone else.

For adding back-ups, you can add them until the tournament starts, maybe till 15th or 16h, but I recommend you to be hurry.

Ok, the captain of Team Brazil-Chile is now Hyguys.

So we have 17 teams, hmm. Round 1 will be robin-round tornament. Teams will be grouped into 4 groups, and 5 teams will get some disadvantage in round 1 and that's inevitable. Well, grouping the team will be completely random so it would be right time to test your luck.

Round 1-1 will be about April 15th~18th. Overall Round 1 will be last for 3 weeks, I assume.

sorry, gotta resign from tournament.
My laptop doesnt seem to like taiko at all(well that has been known for long time) it just lags way too often.
For example when big don appears my laptop goes LOLYOUARENTGONNAHITIT(screen freezes for 2 secs)

I see, I don't want to force something.

Team Finland and Japan has 3 players so it's still ok to participate the tournament, but it's strongly advised to find appropriate back-up player until the tournament starts(maybe 15th or 16th), cause this tournament will last for for about 7 weeks. After the tournament starts, you can't change the players no matter what.

To be honest, whether a player is a back-up or not is not that important. If 3 among 4 players in the team are present, that's completely fine.

Fixed Rule 10 slighty. Could cause confusion to use the word 'whole team'.

EDIT:
Modified registration period slighty by a few hours. Well I guess everyone is already registered, though.
Group drawing will be right after closing of registration. Will be done by using certain program that I found from Korean web, so just a click will decide everthing.

EDIT2:
...without considering continent. That would be better except for setting timetable lol

Please know that this map list is trying to fit both experts and novices, if you find maps that you don't like or are boring.. just don't pick them (less chance you'll be playing them).
I do agree on the badly timed maps and etc but im sure it will be fixed and we'll discuss about it...

Broad difficulty spread is what I mean. I divided mappool by 7 difficulty groups and only 'Very Hard' group was excluded for round 1.
Of course, this will be fixed following usage of the maps.

About timing, those are ranked ones so I though it's ok. If you think anything wrong about timing, please post here or PM me. I'll ask to some experts to confirm it. (Mainly Alace, as he is a staff.)

Tournament Instructions
The 1st round of the tournament will be robin-round stage. There will be 4 groups and each groups have 4~5 teams. Your team will play every other teams once, and the team achieved #1 or #2 in their group will be ascended to the next round. Ranking of teams will be decided by certain standards:
　1. More matches won.
　2. Have bigger {(the number of games won) - (the number of games defeated)}.
　3. More games won.
　4. Have bigger ∑{(total score difference) / (maximum score)}.
　5. Winner of the rematch.
第一輪為分組賽，每組均有4~5隊，賽事採用單循環制，頭兩名者出線。
排名準則如下：
1) 勝出較多場次。
2) (勝出局數-落敗局數) 較高者。
3) 勝出局數較高者
4) 累積每局(分數/滿分) 較高者。
5) 重賽勝出者。

Other stages will be Knockout stage. If your team wins the match, your team will be ascended to the next round immediately. but if you lose your match, your team will be knocked out from the tournament.

Usually you will have a match per a week, but in the 1st round you may have two matches in certain week if your group consists of 5 teams.
除第一輪外其他對賽為淘汰賽，即勝方晉級，敗者出局。

Round 1 consist of Round 1-1, 1-2, 1-3. There are 17 teams so there's no way to group teams equaly, so some disacvantages for some teams are inevitable. Since Group A has 5 teams and we have 3 weeks to finish round 1, all teams in group A should play once more in certain week since they will play 4 matches.
Total 10 matches in Group A and round 1-1 has 4. That's why so many teams play twice in this week. Of course they won't play twice in other weeks.

Halcyon is good yeah but, still, i don't mind playing them its just ya know, its a "taiko" tournament.

Uh, no. Your team will have match with each of teams in group A, so you will have total 4 matches during round 1. The best team and the second best team among the group when the round 1 is over will be ascended to round 2, and this round 1-1 is only 1/3 of round 1.

Also, I don't think the time's good for USA ;_;. Backfire can't make it. It's pretty late too, but it's a saturday so hopefully I can make it without being so tired katus look like dons to me orz


EDIT: Ok, coincidence time.

KYOUI is added to Team U.S.A. and Light677 is moved to back-up along with anongos (assuming I can have more than one?).

@^: Uh, you can't have more than one back-up.
