Not sure if this is the right place for this, but it is an issue with FA beatmap template.

Camellia - Energy Drinking musume fein-chan! (Camellia's MONSTERISTIC Dempa Machinegun Psystyle Remix)

File name becomes too long after you first try to save the map, because it tries to add (username)[diffname] in the file name. I googled and it said max file name length on windows is 260, anything longer causes you to get an error.

Your file directory might look like this:

c:/users/user/appdata/local/osu!/songs/Camellia - Energy Drinking musume fein-chan! (Camellia's MONSTERISTIC Dempa Machinegun Psystyle Remix)/Camellia - Energy Drinking musume fein-chan! (Camellia's MONSTERISTIC Dempa Machinegun Psystyle Remix)()[]

This directory is already 252 characters long, which only leaves 8 characters for your osu username and diff name.

The way I got around this was changing the song name to this:

After that the file directory looks like this:

The piano is slightly variable here but 120bpm is a good catch-all option without overcomplicating it, to be fair. Let your guys check over that in case of doubt!

KNOWER - Die Right Now has a separate timing section in the dubstep part at the end that's 176 bpm (just 1 bpm higher than the rest of the song);
in the template there's only 1 timing point at the start, which is incorrect.

As a reference, here's an old map I did of it.

Because of the length, windows allow only 7 charcters for the dif name and the mapper name (which is added to the .osu file name). This cause an not so easy to understand error for new mappers and force almost everybody to shorten the title. Can this be officially shorten?

it doesn't show at all on the main font, nor does it show in the beatmap editor's song setup box. but it's there.

The current way it's set up has the offset at -12. With the current implementation, it requires either changing the mp3 or mistiming a couple of objects & resetting the metronome via additional red ticks to map the song properly, as the editor does not allow you to map objects to negative timing.

Timing checked the album, in short:
-Mostly a lot of minor offset/bpm changes because variable timing, mainly some ~+15ms because this was timed earlier this year on audio compatibility

-Some time signature changes here and there, most notably Rube Goldberg Variations & The Somnambulist going from 3/4 → 6/4, as it seems to fit better I think, but mostly tried to handle barlines properly for Taiko & Mania mapping

-Removed dupe .mp3 file for The Somnambulist

I will do the entire timing of Terraformer in 3 sittings, with 4 songs each sitting and split this post up in 3 parts according to the sittings. So here's part 1 of my Terraformer timing adjustments.

Wrinkle was relatively easy, however there was one spot where the drums came in later than the measure line indicated, around 20-30 ms later and I fixed that accordingly. Were also a few spots with slightly variable timing but nothing big. I also fixed the slowdown and timed the saxophone solo at the end.

FXMDLR was fixed in some parts, variable in some others. Interesting to note is that it becomes mostly variable when there's just instruments playing and no vocals, some slower sections are also variable. The most variable part was a short drum lick before the chorus picked up again, so nothing major in this one.

In Son of a Serpent I timed the instrumental intro, since it had a swing feel I adjusted the bpm to be equivalent to 1/3 instead of 1/4, but didn't do it in the section when the vocals entered as that is where a stable drum beat enters, so it may or may not be a weird change. Here I also fixed a few timing signatures, for example a place with 5/4. Also one section where the time signature is inconsistent, with the same musical section switching from 3/4 to 6/4 out of nowhere, when it actually should be 6/4 throughout barring some additional time signatures. The guitar solo and many buildups (which seems to be a common theme in Thank You Scientist) were extremely variable and were way too simplified in its current timing.

Lastly I timed Geronimo, which was probably the toughest of them all, since only 2 sections seemed stable. Because of the unstable nature of this song, many offsets were also really wrong, and because it was simplified so much it is noticable even on 100% how inaccurate some places were. Otherwise not much to say about this song other than it was very hard to time well enough.

romanised title currently ignores the ranking criteria rule, which says "Loan words from other languages have to use the original words in their stead when attempting to romanise them."

so instead of "Wa~tobi~to o~ba~hi~~~~to!!!!", romanised title should be "He~artbe~at O~ver~he~~~~at!!!!" or "Hea~rtbea~t O~ver~hea~~~~t!!!!", depending on how you look at it (choose the one that makes more sense in english, im not a native speaker, i think first one feels more natural tho)

something like "Heeartbeeat Ooveerheeeeat!!!!" (or "Heaartbeaat Ooverheaaaat!!!!", also depending on how you look at it) could work to i guess, but omitting of "~" isn't something we would do on osu so yea prob first option is better - the important fact is that current one is wrong

even if not, "は" is still wrongly romanised as "wa" instead of "ha" - it gets romanised to "wa" only when used as a particle

//EDIT: what i also noticed right now, shouldn't "Bassline Yatteru lol" be changed to "Bassline Yatteru? w" ? we already have two ranked mapsets under that romanisation so imo would make for sense to follow it, especially when both versions are equally correct

BPM should be 130 with 4/4 signature instead of 195 with 3/4, as overall structure of the song fits more the 1/3 divisor, and some parts (like 0:59) are clearly 130 bpm (confirmed this with a BN as well)

the default timing is really, really weird at 01:16:154. like, really, really weird. i'm no timing whiz but it's not right at all. here is what i think it should actually look like. this took a tremendous deal of effort on my part.

many of SOOOO's songs have absolutely gigantic file sizes. every one except for Ruins in the Paradise and NORMAL HUMAN are massive for their length. minus in the sun is nearly 70mb - Aether Realm's The Sun The Moon The Star, nearly three times longer, nearly isn't even a third of the size, only being 26mb total. Something is massively wrong here, likely just an issue of audio quality being too high.

mapper of that set reverted his nickname back to ItsWinter so you probably should delete the SILENCE PLAYER part

hey, as i've been mapping plenty of Omoi lately, i stumbled upon something wrong, probably just outdated:

on the album "Night Confession" on the Omoi FA listing, there's a song called "Miracle", but when listening to the album on for example Spotify, this song was split into two songs - the intro is separated into a new song called "On Your Marks" and the rest of the song is still called "Miracle" - but it's literally the song "Kiseki Saemo" (which was released earlier as a single) but with a new name, which is "Miracle"

additionally, i verified that "Miracle" on album "Night Confession" is literally identical to "Kiseki Saemo" on single "Kiseki Saemo" so it's not like a new version or anything, just same song but new title

so i suppose the fix would be that the Omoi FA listing should update the album "Night Confession" and then i think due to being redundant, "Kiseki Saemo" could be removed (since it'd already be on the listing when the album is updated on FA listing)

siromaru + cranky - conflict (listed as Cranky - Conflict)

There are two problems with this.
  1. The title is capitalized, but in other rhythm games the title is all lowercase. Also in all above linked sources the artist field is "siromaru + cranky"; Here siromaru is missing.
  2. There is a section of 7/4 signature, not reflected in the template timing. This is less a problem for non-scrolling rulesets or without barlines.

fairly sure 1:31 onwards on MYUKKE. - Ginevra should be 255bpm 3/4 - currently synth just doesn't match up with 1/3 snapping as its 2+2 grouping instead of 1+3 (also from 1:43 there's clearly 255bpm beat)

Inaccurate metadata issue on "WONDERLAND TRAVELERS" album of Yu_Asahina


I'm not entirely sure on this, but going by Twitter and Album sites, the following song should be written as follow:

Original Artist - Title: Yu_Asahina+ぺのれり - ロマンシングフィクションライフ！(twiples ver.) feat. みかん汁
Romanized Artist - Title: Yu_Asahina+penoreri - Romancing Fiction Life! (twiples ver.) feat. mikanzil

Changes are as follow

  1. add penoreri to the artist
    (penoreri composed and made the lyrics while Yu_Asahina arranged and mikanzil sang it)
  2. change romanization of Mikanjiru to mikanzil
    (source: Their Twitter)
  3. change "Romance" to "Romancing" as because the original katakana is 「ロマンシング」and not 「ロマンス」

"恋哀" should be romanised as "Ren'ai" instead of "Renai" - 恋 reads as Ren and 哀 reads as Ai, so to distinguish the spelling you seperate the syllables with apostrophe (Renai would be correct if readings were Re+Nai for example)

Camellia's put' l'da is featured two times for some reason? (once as put' l'da, once as Ice Path). there should be only one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (template with Ice Path should be deleted as we already have ranked sets with put' l'da - and next sets will have to follow that according to RC)

Under Romanised Artist, shouldn't it be romanised as 'Pratanallis feat. Kyoko' instead?

Issue on the English Title of Se-U-Ra's "エリフィと白昏の夜 -Called-":

In the BMS Event Site (which was linked by Se-U-Ra's SoundCloud),
there is a hiragana to help read the song's name: "えりふぃとしろがれのよる" - which reads as "Elifi to Shirogare no Yoru"

The reason it is "Shirogare" and not "Shiro Gare" is because "昏" is normally only pronounced as "gare" when used as "黄昏 Tasogare" (which is likely what the artist is referencing) - see This kanji site (sorry that it's full Japanese. I can't find English friendly site)

Now we know later that "エリフィ" or "Elifi" part should be "Elif" from the album "Tree Called Elif" - here's the crossfade uploaded on Soundcloud

So, this song should be "Elif to Shirogare no Yoru -Called-"

The timing on the template is at constant 220 BPM, but there's a portion of the song that slows down at around 3 minutes.

edit: I think the added timing points should be 204 @ 178341, then back to 220 @ 201870.

MP3s include a ~5MB cover art which doubles most of the mp3's size (easily removable using foobar2000 for example but will take some time for all of them)

I think all osz have the same issue, or at least I didn't find one without that issue but didn't look through all of them

MisomyL - Mukishitsu Sekai ni Irudori o (無機質世界に彩を) - the romanization title seems to be incorrect:

彩 can be pronounced "Aya", "Sai", "Irodo(ru)" but never "Irudori". I think it is a typo and should actually be "Irodori" based on these two links: https://jisho.org/search/%E5%BD%A9# , https://jisho.org/word/%E5%BD%A9%E3%82%8A .

If possible, the best way is to discuss it directly with an artist on what they actually meant (but it is most likely not the current romanization "Irudori").
