Oh, never knew there's a Taiko World Cup going on soon.
Man, I would love to join, but I'm pretty much cut out from osu!,with the freakin' proxy settings and everything.
Maybe I can go to the library here and play, but imagine someone wrecking havoc on a laptop in a library.... I doubt the security personnels would miss that. :o

Nway, support this idea, and good luck to everyone! :)

i thought the last days about what maps can be played, and as far as i know, most taiko oni maps are very hard (at least for taiko newbies/intermediates), so we could begin with a easy/normal standard map as a 'warm up', and then maybe after 2 or 3 rounds, we could start with some easier taiko oni maps, with their difficulty getting higher from round to round


i'm already so excited about the tournament :)

I'd be interested in doing something with the american players.

But, if anything, I'd like to be part with anyone. I'm not very picky, and I'm not all that scrappy at taiko, I think I'd make a decent addition to anyone's team c:.

Take osu! world cup / other tournaments as reference:
usually it's 10PM~2PM (GMT+8)

and, we have judges around the globe, so time of match can be flexible, depending on the two sides of the match.
say if it's UK VS US, then it can be somehow like night time in European timezone,
and if it's TW VS KR we can have it somehow like 10PM (GMT+8) :3

Oh, and about map suggestions, the 1st round needs both some relatively easy maps('Hard' or 'Taiko Muzukashii' or something like that) and somewhat hard ones (Taiko Oni lvl.7~8, I guess?) becuase skill of players are quite varied at that time.

I mentioned about time difference because it would be quite tricky to set a time when a match like KR vs BR happens.

I'm very, VERY interested in this.
I had been wondering for some time about that why there hasn't been a taiko world cup yet, and now I noticed this :D I shall try to discuss this with Mara - who hasn't mentioned this thing in #finnish or the Finnish forum for some reason - and some other Finns tomorrow.

I think the tournament should be go like the korean?! VS japan?! Taiko Tournament...
-4 ppl per team + 1 backup
-Someone from Team A VS someone from Team B for each song
For example:
A:OnosakiHito VS B:MMzz - Song: Mint Tears
A:DarkDunskin VS B:Rokodo - Song: Taiko Time
A:RockeDon VS B:Sander-Don - Song: Angel Dream
...
The winners are, the team which wins 3 maps

Would be nice!

And about maps, think only TnT, Ranked Guestdiffs and maybe some UR Taiko maps from users (They must be checked before they can into the mappool)

Aaaaand, because the teams, think everyone has to find a team in his country before join any other teams.
The reason is, like the 1st post here from rokodo, It'll be sux when all good taiko players join in 1-2 teams!
It's a WORLDCUP wich includes countrys and no random teams!

I actually considered the method that used in Korea vs Japan Taiko match(It wasn't tournament, actually.). Yeah that works too, but that method needs more administration, so I don't think that method is good for this kind of big tournament. Also, the best player in the team is likely to be more weighted than others, and I don't want that.

Some Taiko players prefer non-Taiko-only map so we need to consider that. I'll try to put various kinds of maps.

Yeah, this is world cup but there's some nice Taiko players with not many Taiko players in his/her country, like noobita or zekira, so that's why I set the rules. There's too many good players in certain countries and that's the problem too.

About maps, yeah some non-taiko maps are very good and much fun to play, but I prefer taiko-specific! *lol*

I don't expect to much from the 1st Taiko-WC, little mistakes//problems will be unable to avoid.

imo some solo diffs are mapped that is played nicely in taiko mode too, like tieff and Shinxyn's various maps like worldenddominator. (despite the fact that it includes 1/4 finishes for worldenddominator ;w;)

Consider somehow like JP vs KR that is possible but I think enjoying the match is more important =/

EDIT: Can we conisder USA as minor? Several active players are there, hmm. UK can considered as minor cause there are not much active players there, as I know.

I think to use the maps which have reasonable and simple patterns is better than use hard maps.

Actually, Too hard maps that have so long stream or many convoluted patterns are not fair imo.

Cuz It's super-advantage for who know that maps.

I think to choose the maps that have not too fast bpm, long or hard patterns.

Totally, ☆7 ~ ☆9 level's difficulties are best imo.

and, I found my name on this thread, well, as you can see on my signature, I'm extremely busy.

I don't have any time to play Osu! without sunday, maybe I can't join in this event?

(Surely, If who request me to participate for back-up, I will, but maybe nobody will ask for me cuz my ability, haha.)

No need to worry about that, guys. Maps like Angel dream will be excluded. Maybe Rotter can be included in final or something, but as it also has speed ups, so I need to think about that.

As I said, Maps 1st round will include Hard/Insane/Taiko Muz/Taiko Oni ~lvl.7 or 8. Maps for certain round will be announced a few days(about a week, I guess) before the match starts.

Alright, I'd love to participate, but.. I've got quite some trouble to form a team. -and yes, sorry, I can't read 11 pages right now. D:-
So, if there're some people out there who are short on someone or who'd like to play to get somewhere -up to being beaten by Japan/Korea/SanderokoMMzz or so-, please do tell me :D
I'll be available from 4PM-10:30PM GMT+1 on most cases.

Match Instructions:
2. The team that mentioned first in the timetable will be Blue team. Referee will be Blue team, too.
　2-1. Referee should not touch anything that can affect score.
I think that changing to players individual is a better way to prevent Referee affecting the score
Just count the score after that match
It can reduce the stress on players
Also it is more flexible if there are more than 1 Referee

Rules:
9. If 1 player gets disconnected, the game will continue. If more than 2 players get disconnected, the game will be nulified.
I don't agree much with this rule, since if anyone got disconnected, it will totally affect the result of that game

12. The manager can ban a player or a team from the tournament if the player or the team is concidered as disturbing the tournament
I know why this rule is existing, but how can a player disturb the tournament?
