I'm pretty late to this, but eh.
I kinda like 'em.
They're a mixed bag of people that can be from those who happen to be really damn nice and chill to be around (essentially those who are fairly casual and mainly are just there to have fun), to the meme-spam owolord fennec-fox kind of comedy gag, and then to those who primarily identify with the fandom and some sort of animal avatar because of various reasons so they feel more comfortable somehow (likely to not be the greatest around other people and will likely not be very socially inclined aside from when they're around others who accept them within their community).
What I enjoy most about the fandom itself is its really vast base of artistic and creative people-- there's a fuckton amazing art i've seen that kind of just baffles me (admittedly, a lot of it is NSFW, which actually kind of makes it more intriguing), as it's really high-quality art with great applications of artistic concepts from excellent lighting and color palettes, with immersive artstyles that seem semi-realistic, yet are obviously totally fictional. Of course, their skill varies, but I've come across a lot of good art like this made by the community.
So, all that considered, I can say I'm quite fond of the fandom, but still, I wouldn't exactly consider myself a furry. To be honest, it's not exactly my kind of thing. I mainly just enjoy the hell out of what they make.
But yeah. I have a fairly friendly disposition towards furries, primarily because I respect the skill many of the artists there, and I enjoy being around some of the people that represent the fandom. They're generally artistic and pretty community-driven.
Well, though I do like the fandom, I still prefer to judge them on an individual basis as I do anyone else. Because like humanity in general, there's bound to be shitty people you'll meet.
That's pretty much how I see it.
