I just played Perfect Cherry Blossom for the first time... two words...
HOLY SHIT
I sort of expected it to be harder, actually, (I play lots of challenge games) so it wasn't all that hard to me, but I've never played anything like it. It gives me some feeling I've never experienced before. I'd say it's awesome. but I'm already awesome. I also love the background music as it puts me in the mood to carefully weave through the bullets. I love this game. I do wish the newer ones weren't so big though, my isp sucks and it takes me like to hours to grab one whilst doing nothing else on teh interwebz.

In random news, I wonder why EoSD runs faster on my older XP desktop than it does on my Vista laptop. Also, I really need to figure out a pattern I can follow so I can cap Sun Sign "Royal Flare".

That and figure out how to 1cc EoSD and PCB with standard lives.

Oh well, cleared easy from th6-11 and normal on PCB (omg my only normal 1CC) but its impossible for me for the other games :I
and also, i bombed pretty much everywhere in the bossfights x)

Remi is slightly easier if you've fought other Touhou final bosses - they stole methods of attack from her. Her first non-card? Eirin's Revival "Game of Life". Her last non-card? Kanako's last non-card (even going as far as including the invulnerable phases). Heaven's Punishment "Star of David"? Basically similar to Eirin's Awakened God "Memories of a Legendary Age".

I don't know how anyone can 1cc EoSD with ReimuA. She deals so little damage, she's slow as hell, and Fantasy Orb outright sucks if you don't need duration.

I play ReimuB, myself. So far, that's the only way I've managed to 1cc Normal. You need to be careful against Patchouli, though.

The TouhouWiki at Poolshmer lists all Spell cards in every game at every difficulty, if you get lost. It has opensearch too.

Well, to see how rusty I've gotten at Touhou since I'm unable to fully utilize my laptop (battery issues, and apparently issues that surfaced because of a shutdown that occurred because of it), I tried to do a pacifist run of Stage 6 of SA. With my crap keyboard that can't read arrow keys well enough. I lost two lives to mid-boss Orin because I was trying to find the safe spot in the attack (as you can tell, I failed miserably). Utsuho's first few attacks passed without incident... Until her second card. Promptly raped. Managed to get to card three. Dead.

Okayz, so I got a 16 gb iPod nano as an early christmas present. And I have a few albums of Touhou music from DoujinStyle! I'm really interested in vocal and not too crazy about rhythm songs. IOSYS, Silver Forest, COOL&CREATE, Seventh Heaven Maxion, SOUND HOLIC are my favorite out of the Touhou music band thing. Can't forget the awesome Innocent Key band. I've downloaded quite a few of rhythm songs which mean nothing to me so I delete them like Sound Online and euphoricia, although some are actually pretty good like ZUN. Anyone have any recommendations on some other really good Touhou music albums that I should've had downloaded a long time ago or that yall liked? Maybe I could even fill my iPod with only Touhou music, lol. ^^

^OH GOD THEY'RE SPREADING (future reference: referring to Mafiamaster's signature, noticed on 11/15/08, involving a Yukkuri)

Now that that's out of my system, I would like to express frustration at the Extra stage of EoSD. Even with the hitbox patch, I still can't clear any of Patchy's cards on a regular basis without dying (or wasting a good bomb or two - I use one anyway on Philospher's Stone).

Man, I hope the thirteenth game will be good... and hopefully involve Sanae or some of the SA youkai.

(11/16/08 was when I started playing) Shoot the Bullet was the worst Touhou game I've ever played. I mean there are no difficulties, or even a story mode. Just high scores and best pictures. It's probably just from the link that I downloaded it from where there are already placed scores in each level, which is why I didn't like it as much. I kind of wanted to start a new, but when I delete the score.dat file, it just comes back with the scores unless i'm doing something wrong... But I did like how it was a different kind of gameplay and that has made all the difference.

Stage 1 Scene 2 was hell for me which took me like 30 minutes to beat. Addicting and fun to play though, just not as good as the others. SWR is the best!

I haven't played any of the games in quite a while. Last time, I remember I was having trouble with PCB's Easy. Eww.
StB runs weird here, but I like it, even if I can't get any further than Stage 5.

Is 983,434,550 a pretty solid score for Imperishable Night?

Kinda forgot to take the screenshot until the last second, so it's fading to white.

The highest score in Gensokyo.org is 1,992,699,200, but I'm sure it has lots of grazing and manipulating the Youkai/Human bar and etc. Yours is good, I think. Hell I suck and my best score was around 910,000,000 so yeah it's a good score. I really should try playing again (even though the last time I did so I got this)...

The reason why I didn't downloadit until now is because I couldn't get my controller back connected to my laptop (don't ask).

I guess I should do a youkai (or Reimu) solo on her then. I seem to always get hit by the ying-yang orbs right when I need to do a quick switch for speed.

I played through PCB and SA again today... I couldn't 1cc easy....
However, I was able to get past Reisen on IN normal.
[insert non-existent replay here on account of IN not letting you save one AND continue]
Cyclone, I think if I met you IRL I'd be subconsciously compelled to punch you for being so awesome.

I just recently started playing these, and they're quite fun, but a bit confusing.

A) Whats with the timer during boss fights?
B) do i need to play these in order or anything?

If the timer runs out, you won't get any Spell Card Bonuses which are basicly points. ( That's all I know about them )

And no you don't have to play them in any specific order. I first started playing TH07, then jumped to TH10.5, then back down to TH07.5, then TH06, then TH08, then TH9.5 but it sucked really bad imo,then downloaded TH09, TH10, and TH11 at the same time just to be safe. Although I may be wrong =X

If the timer runs out, then the attack immediately ends, and like stated above, you don't get a Spell Card Bonus.
EDIT: Unless the card is a survival card, e.g. the Imperishable Night's End series.

I suggest you play 8 first, since it has the longest deathbomb timing, which makes it a bit easier on newbies.

I knew a lot of people hated Shoot the Bullet, but it was that bad for you guys?

Oh, and Mafiamaster, thanks for reminding me of this flash.

Pretty fun game. I'm having troubles beating Imperishable Night on Lunatic without using a continue... I've been playing mostly as Marisa Solo lately, It makes spellcard 143 a lot easier.

Oh, since you've been going as Marisa solo... How the heck are you supposed to clear Impossible Request "Dragon's Necklace" on Normal like that (for the Last Word)? Is there a bunch of holes I keep missing or something?

That and Eirin's "Game of Life" are the only two cards preventing me from getting that Last Word.

Was moderately entertaining.

Dammit, I hope this doesn't get scrapped.
Reimu was perfection, tbh. Her attitude and moe moments were fantastic.
Marisa ehhhh... Not so much. She seemed way too normal compared to how she is in the games.
Aya was pretty good. I always imagined she'd have a more mature voice, but the naggy little girl appeal works for me.
Suika wasn't drunk, so there's nothing to compare her to.
China wtf. Although it is expected that some characters would get more screentime, her part is just annoying. Epic points for Sakuya calling her by her real name though.
Sakuya seemed pretty steriotypical, it would be good to see her fight though. ZA WARUDO.
Patchouli was epic, but it would have been better if she had a more lazy voice, like Clannad's Kotomi.
Remilia.... yeah, she was pretty good too, although she looks way too young.
LOL WIKIPEDIA.
Animation quality overall was better than the Ghibli films. I like the style, and it'll be interesting to see fanart of it.
Sound effects need work.

Yukari, Cirno, Alice and Flandre are pretty much confirmed for later eps.
This could set a new example for anime if they don't fuck it up.
They did a good job introducing characters in a small time, too. At this rate, if there's any more than 4 eps, the IN crowd will play a part.

Also is it just me or are the DVD menus better than any non-doujin DVD?

Haven't really bothered to load the disc up yet (I'll do it on New Year's), but I'm amazingly surprised at the seiyuus Maikaze managed to bring to what amounts to a fanon work. Gensokyo.org has the full list, including some previous parts, but sheesh, how'd they land the VA who did Mai in Mai-HiME?

Holy shit marisa solo scores VERY fucking high. Also i did horrible on the final boss with her. Lost about 5 lives on the final boss -_-

Wow. I can't figure out how to put the English patch into IN. When I tried it kinda messed up my exe where I can't even get into the game no matter what I try anymore. Good thing I had a back up IN folder. Haha

I was having the same problem for a while... I don't even know what fixed it, I just played through the game on easy mode, exited, and tried patching. Worked perfectly, that time. Just make sure you've got the updated version of IN

So I replayed SA to try to get the rust off my Touhou skills.

1cced Easy, tho there were some (9) moments, especially when I died twice on Stage 6 Orin trying to find the safe spots in the formation.

Failed at Yukari's second Spell Card on Normal. FFFFFF....

Replays up when I feel like digging around my folders for them.
