Finally,some AC14 news!It's song-unlocks again!
This time we have "KARMA tatsujin mix" from Tekken,
and Go Go Kitchen.
Huh,once again we have more songs from the rumoured
song list.Maybe Shimedore exists and Joubutsu's not
the last 2000?

Also, there's this "core remix" rumour in 2ch a long
time ago, something like 765 collabing with some music school
to remix famous 765 original songs like Fuun!Bachi osensei
and Go Go Kitchen.
Original post:
Wonder if this is true?
DAT WTF 'KARMA' reminds me ToTA ;_;

Don't ask me how I cleared 0:46 to 0:49 ._.

@Propeller: That makes a lot of sense, except in Joubutsu you're not given any break time unlike in nearly every other 2000 song :P

Actually you do get break time, it's that one bit where the map suddenly turns to Normal notes where there are no notes present. It only lasts 2 bars but in a song like Joubutsu I would be happy to get any amount of rest time at all. >_>

Your vid is similar to my attempt with classic controller actually (screwup areas, two bars past clear point, perfect/ok note counts), except I can't get high combo counts in the song XD leaves me with a measly 490k ._.

As for 0:46-0:49 I can do the 1/3 part but keep screwing up on the 1/6's... seriously this isn't hitting the notes, it's literally MASHING them. Like I said earlier the rate you hit these notes is actually slightly more intense than Hataraku's 1/8 notes, making them way too hard to hit.

I bet no one can 999 perfect (not just FC) this song.

Hey,I think there's a vid out there with a score that pwned Mekka-Don/DJ AUTO.
That means they probably perfect-FC'd the song AND had moar drumrolls than Mekka-don.

Holy shiiit.

Guys... I just have to tell you what just happened to me tonight. I cannot believe I have officially gotten a mental scar here. (it's on-topic, don't worry)

OK, let's see if I can make it a bit more... 'fantastic'? Okay here goes.

I'm on a really, really dangerous quest. It's called...

...kill everyone.

I have jumped into the death hole myself, yes, I know. But read further, because this... oh whatever, just read...

But it takes more than just jumping head first into an obstacle in order to conquer it.

Before anything else, that obstacle must eat you up first.

And by letting it consume you, you can destroy it from the inside.

This has worked for me many, many times, especially when trying to do impossible shit on video games. Taiko is no exception, as it was the same principle I used to clear the 4 initial god songs...

Moving on, I have quite an unusual position when trying to game up to beyond my maximum level: I stand up and go quite near the screen so that my line of vision is almost only on the screen...

...then I let myself exposed in lengthened durations to the sound of the game... something like a warm up, perhaps. But this time, I think it proved to be one of the worst things I have done.

As much as I felt the hyper rush when I let Rotter eat me, the flying feeling from Ryougen, the sense of danger from Kita, and the idea of chaos from Hataraku... but from Joubutsu... oh god...

So after I got the score above, I felt pretty confident. I then set an objective that I would get one run that would have less than 10 misses, so I played some more of this song.

More and more... more and more.

But I didn't feel like it ate me yet. If it did, then I would've been much, much closer to FCing it...

So I endulged more into it. I let myself 'change the environment' by finally surrounding myself with the song of Joubutsu Nisen and the Taiko strummings...

...which is to say, this is where it happened...

Just a few stanzas after the initial slowdown... I can hear the resonation of Joubutsu around the room more clearer and clearer as the song passed while I was playing it.

...with this, I can also hear the music in it's deepest audible sense. This is the part where I can fully imagine the song's supposed message...

...man how can I describe it...

...in a simple phrase... it was fucking scary.

I now realize why they had to put that simple flute arrangement as the main instrument that's audible in the song... once you hear the instruments BEHIND THE FLUTE, well for my case, it... gave me only the most eerie and scary sounds I can ever imagine. The incinerator was fully imaged in my head, and a quite clear picture of an apocalyptic scene (in all sense of the description...) went through my head in a flash of around 3 seconds...

...it was so fucking horror-inducing, I had to look at my walls to see if there was glass breaking or some sort of shit like people dying or a massive manslaughter was happening... NOSHIT THIS WAS SERIOUSLY WHAT WAS GOING ON IN MY HEAD.

After having a clear image for 3 seconds, the resonation of Joubutsu suddenly quieted down a bit, and I had to sit down on the bed behind me, still continuing the Joubutsu play, trying to calm myself down. But since I was so distracted and horrified then, I couldn't play properly... really bad in fact, as I failed it, much to what one would expect. The mental image is still in my head right now by the way...

...what's even scarier is that after I failed it, the score I got was...

...375640...

(...I wasn't able to screenshot it because I was just too fucking scared to do so)

After the song ended, I actually needed to do something just so I could get over it...

I played Kimi no Akari, Angel Dream and Kaze no Fantasy, shunyuu ~happy excursion~ (lol), Haya Saitama2000, and took a trip to the Dream Land for quite a while... then played Popcorn Parade almost 50 times, and I still cannot sleep even now.

I still cannot get fucking over it. This is the first time that music alone can fucking scare me, and worse, it was from a video game that doesn't even aim to do so.

Linda AI-CUE has a fucking deathwish. I swear...

...I don't feel like playing that song anymore. I am abandoning this quest...

EDIT: I realized I wasn't really able to fully describe the sound I heard when the music was going all over the room... well I don't bother to try and replicate that sound... but still... The description I wrote above isn't horrifying enough to tell how I felt, I swear.
crystalsuicune
That does it,Joubutsu's officially very High Octane Nightmare Fuel.

The worst thing is that the horror is rather subtle
(at least you have to know about all those secrets
behind the song to experience the full horror of the song)
It's a bit like those "When you see it you'll shit bricks"
images,only with a song.

For some reason,I had a feeling that this has
the potential to be good creepypasta…
Zekira
'Secrets'? After hearing the song for a while you'll hear every bit of the song and realize everything. You don't even need to understand French to realize that there's a really, really, REALLY creepy composition behind the flute. And knowing most people past 15 years old, they probably know how to count 1 to 10 in many languages, French included, and you can explicitly hear the song saying Minagoroshi -_-
crystalsuicune
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel
This should help.Wave goodbye to your spare time now.

Also, can I say that the incinerator noise in the later bits of Joubutsu is Hell It's That Noise?
It feels like it,since I get the creeps every time I get to that part.

@crystal: I watched that, he has about 10 可, meaning he can go even higher if he wants to orz. Also....KIRBY'S EPIC YARN FTW

@Zekira: I never really bothered to listen to the things behind the flute sound (all I usually hear are some really random cymbal sounds and manic drums, and of course the incinerator after the slowdown), but...wow. This is scary. I envy your score there though :/
Zekira
I really wish I could've taken a picture of that 375640 score... would've made the experience-telling more epic, but meh, as I said I was too fucking scared to even do so D:
Propeller_Cap
WHOA there Zekira O.o" I know this song has a scary tone to it, but that's just pushing the limits.

My suggestion is to put the song on mute the next time you play it. Works for me 80% of the time when I'm playing a song that the audio itself might distract me from performing the song.

Personally I've known about Joubutsu's death connotation before I've even played the song. It was scary at first but after playing it through a few times, it ain't that scary anymore.

Don't give up! :D
Zekira

What the fuck? Playing a rhythm game without the music? Are you shitting me? o_o

It was scary at first but after playing it through a few times, it ain't that scary anymore.
Dude it worked in reverse for me; I wasn't scared for the first 100 plays, when that moment of eerie resonation just suddenly happened. So I gone from 'it's just a song' from 'what the fuck am I hearing' instead of 'shit this is scary' to 'oh well it's just a song anyway'
Zekira
Half off-topic

I just came from the arcade... yeah, the one with the TnT AC4 with the hacked TDM software I was talking about.
Well I went there because I wanted to test the new drumsticks I 'made', not like I'm going to get in contact with an actual Taiko machine anytime soon anyway,
but I noticed that the stupid machine was gone. Oh well, TDM was a worthless localization anyway...
So I just had to find something to do since I was there. It had some of the newest machines, but I really don't play those except maybe that shiny DDRX2 machine which is the first thing you see upon entering the vicinity.
Actually the TDM machine is located at the way, way back, along with the many old games that they seemingly didn't want to abandon.
Knowing that they were really old, I did an inspection on the entire 'retro area' (yeah it's pretty secluded from the main area, so I'm calling it that way) to see which of these machines were the oldest, not counting the non-video game machine ones like those Basketball thingies.
At first I thought that ITG2 machine was the oldest, being a 2005 machine (or was it the Dino Duel Masters one, IDK, I didn't really memorize all the years those things came out), then suddenly I found this piece of junk ancient relic here in the corner:

This old thing is already past 11 years old, turning 12 sometime this year.
Needless to say I still tried it out.
With the really low-bit graphics back then, it's kinda hard to get a groove in this game, lol
Song Select not offering me all the songs right off the bat, and the song's title wasn't even anywhere to be seen,
with some horribad Japanese font making a lot of the song descriptions kinda unreadable,
but what can I expect from an old game? As one that delves into the world of classic games, I really don't mind...

...that is, when it came to the moniker screen.
I pressed the 2 Yellow Buttons so that I could bring up the Options me~
...options me~...
NO OPTIONS?! OH MY GAAAAAAWD
BOO FOR SLOWSHIT SCROLL SPEED MAKING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1/2 AND 1/4 A FUCKING PAIN IN THE ASS TO SEE
And that's not all,
extra hits count as fucking misses!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Did some research on it and only found out that these functions were only available on PnM6... SHIIIIIIIIIIT

So much for that though, at least I got to experience a PnM controller on an actual authentic arcade! Yes the buttons still work well (which I actually wasn't expecting, seeing as how this game seems to be more prone to stupid guys who mash shit to oblivion), and I must say it's definitely much, much comfortable to play it here than on the PSP, which I can comfortably say for every arcade game I've played that has a console port...
I can actually use my left hand to hit things on the right! FUCK YEAH no more trouble hitting right-green and right-white
No should button tortures lets out a big load of stress on the readability,
and I don't think 5 button existed on this thing.
Still frustrates me how THERE'S NO OPTIONS FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Hopefully the disappearance of the Taiko machine here means that they're finally fucking fixing it and putting an authentic TnT software on it, damn it

I think actually it's not really recommended. Though you completely memorized the notechart, you basically need the music for tiptop accuracy (and also timing accuracy). Though the song is bitch and the notechart is bitchier, they both are key components on passing/fc jyoubutsu uranai nisen

You can't delete maps on your own.

Though in the case of double submission due to metadata changing (which actually needs to follow a specific method for it not to happen, found here: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=24443 ), please report it to a BAT or a member of higher rank. Posting it in the Help and Support forum might work too, I guess

@Zekira Pop'n Music 3...whoa,that's an old one.
Reminds me of the arcade I used to go to when I was underage. It's got what?
ParaPara MAX?Ye olde version of drummania?EFFING 5-BUTTONS BEATMANIA?!!
(the good thing is,the beatmania cabinet there only costs you 2 coins. The bad thing is,the controls are very,VERY broken)

The newer stuff there should be Taiko 14 and jubeat.(dunno which version of jubeat they have now though)
But the jubeat cabinets there do not support online play.Kinda ruined it,man.

Dammit,go threaten ur arcade to import some newer games!Too bad 573 decided not to release any new Pop'n
cabinets outside Japan starting from AC19...We're stuck with our AC18.*sigh*
Zekira
ur arcade to import games!
It'll take a miracle to happen, especially if it doesn't have English text

Yeah there are a bunch of the newer rhythm arcade games at the front... well more like a few actually; both Technika's 1 and 2, DDRX2, some drumming game that I don't remember the title (...ther'es just so many drum games now lol), Mozarc (to my surprise it has much worse fingerprints than the technika machines), and I'm probably missing some more, but all of them have English text so meh

Oh hey, tell me more about Technika. I found one of them lying around and decided to try because it somewhat resembles Ouendan, but failed epically (what a waste of four tokens). NOne of the songs there were familiar to me either.
crystalsuicune
@aqua DJ MAX Technika?I tried it like once,
I failed epically lol
I don't think it's very similar to ouendan though…Sure it features stationary notes and slider-like notes,
but it's quite different from Ouendan, the most obvious part being the use of a moving timeline instead of
approach circles.

The reason why you don't recognise the songs is probably
because DMT focuses on original songs instead of licenses.

EDIT

I was bored.
Zekira
Nice Ryougen personification there.

Wait, I notice that Ryougen is a favorite of people to make personifications of?

@aqua: I don't play Technika myself... tried getting into it a few months ago, but I didn't feel that too excited on it and thus I dropped it early. Don't know much about it really, but if you wanna do some research, DJMax Technika communities are very huge in general, you can go ask them and they'll give you the answer 219385729735x lol

Got around to playing Joubutsu again (finally got over that song's message, lol), and recently I high score'd at 980k... which I could swear if the dddkkkddd didn't break my combo, I would've gotten 1m :/

Also recorded some stuff too, which I'll post later:

-Audio: Mainichi Kasan
-Audio: Victory
-Gameplay: Black Rose Apostle (Ura) Oni FC

I've been announced that TnT board of Baidu Tieba is preparing to hold Jiro mapping Contest (2nd session). Everyone submit their Jiro maps to the host and score each other in anonymous.
Though the rules is a bit unfair, the main idea of the contest is for improving competitor's mapping skills.

I'm wondering if we can have one in Spring Holidays......

Off-topic:Pop'n Music's dyamic scrollspeed is an asshole.Love Bazooka
has a BPM of 180,yet its scroll speed is slower,so all the notes gets clustered
and hard to read OTL.I failed that damn song twice, even though I had HS2.0
on..(to boot,I was playing 5-buttons,and it's only lv.12!!)

To make things worse, when songs have a changing BPM,you have no idea which BPM's
the main BPM.I tried playing a song with a BPM of 145-290,since I thought it'll
have BPM145 most of the time,I kept HS2.0 on.BIG MISTAKE.

I noticed something quite odd when playing Shunyuu ura on Haunted House...

For some reason the notechart becomes wtfmessedup (timing is still fine of course) and each player gets a different chart. The difficulty from Shunyuu in regular play mode is even lowered (read: the note chart itself, not star rating).

Is this intended, or is it just my Wii going crazy again? Things like these happen to a lot of my Wii games. :s
Zekira
Hm, that's odd... will test out later. Initially I thought this was something going on concerning 2P charts, but after you said that even the regular play chart messed up, that's when I suddenly got curious.

Sorry my wording on that post is kind of confusing... I mean compared to the Shunyuu ura in play mode, this one is significantly easier than the other one... regular play mode is fine, not Haunted House/Pirate Ship. Star rating remains same on both.

Then I checked on Wikihouse and found out it's a 2P chart. So it isn't my Wii messing up this time >_< What the hell, is there a way to disable it? Because it's too easy and sounds messed up...

Then I checked on Wikihouse and found out it's a 2P chart. So it isn't my Wii messing up this time >_< What the hell, is there a way to disable it? Because it's too easy and sounds messed up...
Nope; unless there was a way to play Dream Taiko Land with only 1P or 3P (which isn't likely), you're going to have to work with the 2P chart.

...which is kinda odd for the Haunted House game, I must admit.

Wait, Lokamp was going to do NSMBWii? I never heard you say that when I was asking Zekira to record the music for me :/ Oh well, sorry and all.

BTW, art request. Can I get someone to make a custom 'comboburst' art with the Arumujika character in this picture? :P

Well it can't be that difficult to imagine it in big size :3 It's a small baby deer. Also, it'd be nice if you could use thick lines like the one in the comboburst of the Taiko skin.

@Zekira: I never really bothered to listen to the things behind the flute sound (all I usually hear are some really random cymbal sounds and manic drums, and of course the incinerator after the slowdown), but...wow. This is scary. I envy your score there though :/

Uh, wait, isn't there some sort of birthday song in TnT? I wanna pklay it lol
Propeller_Cap
Umm just to break in the convo with another one of them god song discussions...

I really think there are only 3 songs suited for god: Joubutsu, Kita, and Ryougen. All 3 of these not only require tons of skill to clear, there are gimmicks placed within these songs that makes them ungodly hard to pass/FC for the average person. For me I don't do so well on any of the 3, especially Joubutsu :/ and I can't full-gauge any of these either.

Rotter Tarmination Ura really isn't god-worthy anymore because it really only tests your skill with Taiko. There's nothing really outstanding about it, except for the ending deathstream but even that is quite easy compared to the deathstreams in the above 3 songs.

Black Rose Apostle Ura shares the same case with Rotter Tarmination, in which that it also only tests skill. The difference is that there's more deathstreams, however these are even more predictable/easier than the ones above.

Hataraku only tests how well you can button/drum mash, really. This is a gimmick song, no real skill is involved unless you're trying to FC the song (which I admit, is nightmarishly hard).

Believe it or not I actually did worse on songs like Doom Noiz and Kagekiyo Ura than on Rotter Tarmination Ura and Black Rose Apostle Ura, lol. I guess I'm better at skill songs than gimmick songs...

Rotter is not just a skill test, it's a stamina test. The average player would be completely tired right before reaching the slowdown, and the 1/6 streams are terrible (I really hate the sudden (kkkkkkk)d part). BRA is a lot easier.

Hataraku isn't just mashing buttons either, when you get to the point where you're fast enough to hit the notes correctly you'll notice that the streams require an ungodly level of coordination as you have to switch hands every five or so notes.

As for Doom Noiz...It's PhD level hand-switching :P
Propeller_Cap
I'm a failure at handswitching... which explains why I couldn't really do well on those songs lol.

And to me, I think all of these songs are stamina drainers when played on the first try, no question. But since my hands don't tire as much now, stamina drain is out of the question. Point taken for the average player though.

1/6 isn't that bad in Rotter, try the dkdkdkdkdkdk in Ryougen and those ones packed in intense streams in Joubutsu. Heck even 1/8 Hataraku has a faster drumming rate than 1/6 Rotter. Also the ones in Hataraku and Joubutsu are placed in intense note streams.

I still don't consider Hataraku that worthy of god though, only the last go-go was hell.

I don't know why, but I can clear the 1/6 dkdkdkdkdkd spam easier than the kkkkkkkd in Rotter :

Now, Zeki-kat-chan should use Kat-chan again orz

Right, anyone try to remake 'Hibike! Taiko no Tatsujin (Short ver)' with all diffs orz?
Zekira
For me, actually...

...well, let's take Joubutsu out of the question first because it's pretty much a given.

Outside of that, I think Ryougen is the ONLY true god song around here.

All the other god songs concentrate majorly on only one technique, and one technique only,

but Ryougen tests every aspect of a Taiko player.

KitaSaitama2000 tests your speed.
Rotter Tarmination tests your stamina.
Hataraku tests your reading skills.
BRA Ura tests your balance.

Ryougen makes sure that you'll end up using all of these techniques at least every once in a while. And it isn't as frustrating as K.Sai to make you ragequit immediately.
Lokamp
Awww, why all these technicism for an inexistant problem? Here's an easier way to catalogue them.

KitaSaitama2000 = Hard
Hataraku2000 = hard
Rotter Tarmination Ura = Sadic
BRA Ura = (hahahaha)hard
Ryougen = Evil

...Joubutsu = Out of catalog. And that's all. S:

By the way, I forgot to hope a merry birthday for Kira-cop!..I didn't think he was so young. I was sure to put him 20-22 years xD

(@arken: good notation about Taiko's foundation. The Taiko Team has highlighted it in the post about the latest unlockables, together with a special version of Taiko Wii 3 buyable in japanese airports within January 2011 only. It has a Cop-pilot Kat-chan instead of the Pirate outfit...)

I agree with you on the most part, accept for Ryougen. Because Ryougen is just retarded xD
And what do you mean by Balance for BRA (I've never played the song V:)
crystalsuicune
Ryougen's a trololol notechart,though Joubutsu's the ultimate trollking.

Since I clearly do not have the skills to try out the four gods,so I'm in no position
to comment on them...
Though some donders in the chinese community say that Hataraku's the most difficult out
of the four.
Zekira
Well my basis for my comment would be the JP community actually

Because if I would base my comments from my own opinion, I would still say that Kita is harder than Ryougen

But I'm only one of the few who say that, and I see more people waning for Ryougen up there.

@MMzz: it's got a shitload amount of basic streams that come at you almost endlessly. It may be easy to execute them when individually hit, but they'll just come at you with almost no break, and you'll have to keep up your pace for almost the entire song.

Well you're not alone, because that's exactly what I think as well.

IMO Kita is just like Ryougen in which it tests all your skills. It has speed and hard-to-read notes, and you really need to keep yourself stable the whole entire song. Kita has those very unforgiving deathstreams put into the song as well as the wtf ending. While Ryougen's notes are at least readable, there's that dkdkdkdkdkdk I mentioned earlier, plus pretty much the whole go-go time is trolololol.

What makes Ryougen easier though is that there are more "forgiving" (aka. easy) sections than there are in Kita, at least imo.

Still, along with Joubutsu I would only place these two as god.
Zekira
While Ryougen's notes are at least readable
What? Compare Ryougen's gogo with Kita Sai's and I think that pretty much gives the prize for unreadability to Ryougen

The only unreadable part of Kita is... the x2-x8 part, IMO.

There are more parts where I mess up in Ryougen than in Kita. In Ryougen, it's the dkdkdkdkd and the go-go time. For Kita, the only part I really have trouble clearing is the deathstream before the x8

My mistake, I was referring to the general parts. I specifically mentioned go-go time after lol.

You cannot deny that Kita's deathstreams during the song are hard-to-read either... that, Ryougen's go-go and pretty much all of Joubutsu's fast parts are really the only things I have trouble reading.
Zekira
Kita has fewer deathstreams compared to Ryougen though.

Wellshit what would I know, my problem with Kita isn't the readability but it's fucking insane speed which my body can't comprehend with. We're probably playing differently lol
crystalsuicune
Remember how I said some donders consider Hataraku
the toughest?
Scrap that,I made a mistake. It should be the opposite.

Congrats :D Though if you've memorized the notes, playing it on osu is actually easier because of the larger hit window.

EDIT: Why do I always suck at trying to get a full perfect orz :|

Propeller_Cap
Ugh full perfects... the BANE of my Taiko experience. Even on kantan songs I get like 1 or 2 hits that are slightly off. WHAT THE HELL.

Good thing it's not required for anything. Unless you like score attacking.

On the other hand though, a rainbow crown for getting a full perfect isn't a bad idea either.

And lol aquabluu, you actually bothered to clear songs with more than one file XD
Topic Starter
aquabluu
Full perfects are much easier to get on Kantan and Futsuu because the accuracy is a lot less strict. And the 2nd place score isn't mine, it's my brother's XD
