TBH this thing is about the same as watching any Osu stream of a high ranked player and random people joining with “skin?” comments.

omg every single thing said in this thread is useless

it's especially useless to point out people like WWW who "are good" with "an old" tablet.

so what if someone is, for example, #8 with a 0.48% less acccurate tablet than the #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 players?
if they had a 0.48% more accurate tablet then perhaps they would be #7 instead because they avoided 0.07% of their misses... don't act like you know the impact of everything on everything.

even if you had all the possible information about the equipment, settings, or whatever, you wouldn't be able to quantify the results.

perhaps a tablet that tracks your movement slightly more accurately would actually DECREASE your pp by causing a miss in your top ranks? perhaps 0.005% of circles hit in your entire career were actually due to the tablet's INACCURACY?

so if someone cares about small improvements, maybe just let them apply those improvements.

IMAGINE if cookiezi was using some ancient inaccurate 50hz tablet from 1997, and was #3.

People would be literally saying "a thing that has 2% impact on your aim has 0% impact on your aim"

That's like saying being in Usain Bolts body wouldn't make you faster
being in usain bolt body would not make you faster directly, it would probably make you slower except you are himself or have been using it for a long time

I'm pretty sure having usain's body would make you a very fast runner, not slower.

In that case, you said you had a 480. Why not get the 6.3.9w5 driver?

AngelMegumin had rank 1 for a while with mouse

WWW is using old ass CTL-471 and at his peak he can challenge cookiezi without problem.
Dont forget all this oldfags play this game for 7-8+ years
All Circle-Jerking aside, I just wanna try it out, so does anyone know it?

well its true, u become better from practice. and u should find your most comfortable way of playing,
but keyboards do make some diffrence, Fx. Mechanical will always be better for osu than membra keyboards

Topre is perfectly fine for osu!... Having played on a friend's HHKB for a couple days, I'd say it's very close to playing with Browns.

Oh yes, they are also rubberdomes by keypress feel: https://deskthority.net/wiki/Topre_switch

In essence, quality rubberdomes (Not necessarily Topre) really shouldn't discourage you. I just find most of the stems used on rubberdomes have too much wobble and friction. Mechanicals have better built tolerances than rubber domes for the most part.

You could give usain bolt a crappy rubberdome and he would still be rank 1

That wouldn't quite work. Usain's thumb taps faster than the rubber could rebound.

Unless he pulls the keycaps by default, in that case he's the self-made mech kb.

'Gear doesn't make you better' yet every player in the top 500 has very good gear. If I cared enough about the game to buy his gear (including monitor etc) Would I be on par with Cookiezi? Unlikely since he plays at-least an hour a day, but without a doubt I would achieve top 500. Practice is only worthwhile if you practice with good gear, else you just build bad habits. That's not to say practice it's bad, the game is still fun to play on it's own without the competitive aspect.

When you have good gear your only challenge is other people with good gear, thus the distinction.

No, you don't need 'good gear'. There have been plenty of people who have gotten to extremely high ranks with what could be considered 'bad' or 'low quality' gear.
For instance; idke didn't have a 144hz monitor till this week, Yaong got almost top ten with a fucking membrane keyboard, and then of course there is riviclia who plays with one of the most unconventional and quite honestly terrible setup i've ever seen.

Money = comfortable equipment = more skill = more pp

I therefore conclude that you need gear that your comfortable with to improve in osu! ;ok_hand:

I think I get what OP is trying to say. They want to know what gear Cookiezi uses because they know it's good. I remember when I first started at osu, and had no idea my settings were absolute trash. I was using the whole screen area, and the whole tablet area, at 0.57 sensitivity. I was trash at the game. I didn't know my settings were bad. I've recently switched to the smallest possible widescreen res with letterboxing, and upped the sensitivity to 1.67x. I went from struggling on 3* maps to being able to beat some 4.5* maps, albeit with C rank. This was in one day though. Training with the low sensitivity and no letterboxing DID help me get better at the game, but improving my settings gave me a noticable boost, and my training may have been more valuable if I had been using my current settings from the start.

I still am using a Logitech K-120 with a 2001 ViewSonic 1080p/60hz 27" monitor and a HUION 420 on a MacBook Pro, and I'm sure my performance would improve, even if only by a little bit, if I was using a powerful Windows PC with a 240hz monitor. Right now I can just barely hold up a 120fps limit. Clearly, I could improve by getting better equipment.

TL;DR: The OP wants to know what equipment Cookiezi uses, because they want to make sure their performance isn't hindered by bad equipment. And bad equipment DOES exist.
