00:34 pinataman: you mentioned you wanted a testplay
00:34 pinataman: do you know what patterns you want tested/feedback on
00:34 pinataman: ?
00:34 DJ Lucky: ye
00:35 DJ Lucky: well I mainly wanted feedback on the kiai
00:35 pinataman: what about the kiai might you be worried about?
00:36 DJ Lucky: well if the patterns isn't too awkward, may need adjustments, etc
00:36 pinataman: sure, i can give feedback of the flow on the kiai
00:36 *pinataman is playing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/1428997 Meramipop - This Song I Give: "Higan Retour Symphony" [Lunatic]]
00:40 pinataman: 01:47:229 (1,2) - this felt okay. There was abit of anti-flow, but it didn't stand out as an unenjoyable experience
00:40 pinataman: 01:54:197 (1,2) - this felt odd, i guess i expected 2 to be on the other side
00:40 pinataman:
http://puu.sh/xQngn/92e6420984.jpg00:41 pinataman: 01:56:519 (1) - I really expected this to go the other way, so consider doing ctrl + G
00:41 DJ Lucky: ah I see - I can do something like that
00:42 pinataman: 02:03:874 (2,3) - this was an example of a good anti-flow. I liked how these interacted, and perhaps aiming for more of a flow like this could be safer than some other patterns
00:43 pinataman: that's all that I remember, so let me start from where I ended to test the others
00:43 DJ Lucky: k - I fixing some of what ya suggest above
00:43 pinataman: im gonna play in the editor
00:45 pinataman: 03:33:100 (5,6) - this felt okay. not bad not great, but it makes sense and didn't ditract too much
00:45 pinataman: 03:36:197 (7,1) - this felt awkward
00:45 pinataman: going up really steep after the stream, and then jerked back down by the (1) slider
00:46 pinataman: would recomend a less uncomfortable flow, there are probably anti-flows that get the point across without being this uncomfortable
00:47 DJ Lucky: ah - then I'll try to change up that part then :c
00:48 pinataman: 03:51:100 (3) - compare this to 01:59:616 (3) -
00:48 pinataman: one goes with the flow one goes against it
00:48 pinataman: this seems inconsistent
00:48 pinataman: I dont understand what point you're trying to make by contrasting these, instead I think you should keep the same point of view across sliders like this, and contrast them where there is a change in the music you want to contrast
00:50 pinataman: as a side note thats not relate to flow, be careful about your visual spacing and overlaps like at 03:52:260 (6,2) -
00:50 DJ Lucky: oh I don't do it on purpose - I try to not make kiais the same so if it inconsistent it wasn't due to that - I may have to look over that
00:50 pinataman: the overlap can generally look poor/odd, so it's generally recomended to avoid seemingly random overlaps like this and instead stack or avoid the overlap
00:51 pinataman: yeah it's hard to be consistent
00:51 pinataman: sometimes you just do what you feel is right, and there are times where you end with stuff like that, which totally makes sense at the time
00:53 pinataman: 03:55:358 (2,3,4) - get more opinions on this. Sometimes it feels weird, sometimes it doesnt. I personally would be safe and try remaking this pattern, but if you have a specific goal in mind, then try conveying that goal more clearly or make it just a little smoother
00:53 pinataman: or keeping it and getting more opinions
00:55 pinataman: 04:36:390 (2,1) - and 04:34:455 (1,2) - felt mostly okay
00:56 DJ Lucky: the thing above - I will get more mods on it and - i'll do a bit of self modding since I seeing the inconsistentsy now
00:56 pinataman: this was a little unexpected the first time, but the second time it made sense, it might be safer to be more forgiving here, but it's better to keep for now and get more opinions
00:57 pinataman: woops timelink for ^ is at 04:40:648 (6,1) -
00:57 pinataman: there are some notable aesthetic changes like the overlaps i mentioned and doing more blankets like at 05:08:520 (5,7) -
00:58 pinataman: but that covers most of the issues you wanted from your testplay
00:58 pinataman: so i think that concludes it
00:58 pinataman: unless you had any specific questions
00:58 DJ Lucky: this is quite helpful - thank you ^^
00:58 pinataman:
glad i can help
00:59 pinataman: how good are you at 5.3* jumps?
01:00 DJ Lucky: eh I can barely play 4* so not too good
01:02 pinataman: k. I have a map I'd like feedback on too, but no worries. Good luck with your map!
01:04 DJ Lucky: oh sorry I ain't much help on that :c but still thank you for taking the time with me
