i dont care
If you like rules so much, why don't you just go to GD and stop complaining about OT? That place is just like OT, except "quality content" is enforced. If ignoring content that you don't want to see - like everyone else does - is too much for you, then go to a board where there is none; either that or stop complaining and trying to make this subforum more like the one that you don't even go on.DaddyCoolVipper wrote:
the rules were previously "don't be stupid"Canadian Baka wrote:
I think if the exiling system was tweaked this system would be better. As of now, 3/4 exiled users were exiled just because of posting "bad threads". Even if they broke no rules and followed them respectably. I think this is unfair because the users were only exiled based solely on opinion, not on the rules that were originally here on OT. We should have at least been on the "users in danger of being exiled" list, I mean, none of us where aware at the time that we might be banned. No warnings at all, so we kept on posting on OT.
if you think you guys were following that respectably, you're wrong. no warning was needed, be honest, you knew exactly what you were doing: shitting the forum up because you found it funny.
unless you truly have no self-awareness, in which case, that's exactly why the rules were put into place

You didn't even respond to B1rd's point of GD. By your criteria, that place is the place to go. It is dead, everything there is serious, and quality, anything that's not quiality disappears. There are no spams, no trash, what better of a place for you? The only reason why you would stay in OT is to have a chat with OT peeps, but you hardly speak to anyone but B1rd and others in ITT. You can, with the quality that you post, do the exact same thing in GD and not having to deal with the trash that you hate, what is the problem?DaddyCoolVipper wrote:
I'm just replying to people who are whining about the rule change, B1rd. I like OT more when it has less threads spamming the front page, is that so controversial?
And please, please stop the fucking virtue signalling about capitalism vs socialism. You look ridiculous.
edit: also I just want to ask, has the rule change actually even seriously affected anybody?? I feel like people are complaining more just for the sake of it. One thread per 24 hours isn't even much of a restriction..

And so, you just throw around buzzwords without actually responding to anything I've said.
I honestly think that people aren't nearly as affected by the rules as the drama suggests. I don't expect them to be enforced very much, and the only one I think actually matters is the 1 thread/day rule. I don't mind the "no politics" rule simply because with that comes the 1 thread/day one.B1rd wrote:
No doubt, the rules affect everyone else a lot more than they benefit you through not having to go through the inconvenience of seeing threads you don't like. So, like I said, if you hate spam so much, why don't you just go to GD instead of coming here where there is intentionally less rules and complaining that things aren't to your liking?
Are we on the same page here? I know what virtue signalling is, however in what way was I "virtue signalling"? I wasn't, you're just throwing around buzzwords and you continue to fail to respond to my arguments, as Blitzfrog has also mentioned. Because really, you have no good reasons to support these rules you love so much, you just throw around vague assertions, and you ignore the fact that these rules do in fact have very large effects on the subforum. But that's okay for you, I doubt you even really care much whether there are spam threads or not, doubtlessly you just enjoy inflicting rules and restrictions on other people for the sake of it, because that's just your character.DaddyCoolVipper wrote:

Talking in the OT!News discord now so you won't see a big response here.
Well this is his area of expertise, something he is very passionate about. You would generally base you examples on things you enjoy/care or have a ton of experience in (basic things). He just likes these stuff dude, leave him be lolDaddyCoolVipper wrote:
Because half your posts involve some moral high ground comparison about how capitalism/the free market is amazing and how socialism/restrictions are awful.
You even do it in this post. "doubtlessly you just enjoy inflicting rules and restrictions on other people for the sake of it, because that's just your character."
I feel like you've been pretty unhinged lately. It's hurting our discussions when you don't even notice how much you're making these comparisons in order to "signal" just how great your particular economic or political stance is.
Me too. I've spent way too long today trying to get him to understand the most basic stuff, and even that took multiple repeats and repeated highlighting, just to even get his attention.Kisses wrote:

People justifying themselves, gets countered by others looks entertaining.
