Regarding skill:
Sometimes there are two types of skills in a weapon, One active and one passive.
IIRC Lightning Drum has a passive and an active skill.
If Lightning Drum loses its COND, is the passive skill still enabled? I think its passive skill is to add wind element to your attacks..

...shit i died starving 0 hp at the same tile as the green portal xD

Do you need to do something for Synthing to make it not suck ass? I haven't determined how to get more points per synth - maybe my blacksmith Vega's just bad at his job?

Mm, it's important to understand the benefits of synthing.

1) Transfer skills to other pieces of equipment. This is pretty powerful in its own right. Each piece of equipment has its own condition deterioration rate, which reduces on attacking, receiving damage, or both. A lot of equipment with great skills loses condition on attacking (which is generally unfavorable, you should be doing more attacking than receiving damage). So you can synth those abilities over to a more favorable piece of gear that doesn't deteriorate as easily. Similarly, you can shift abilities to gear that provides the stats you want to emphasize.

2) Raise the condition of equipment. Condition multiplies the effect of equipment boosters, as well as the stats on the item itself.

If you have a Nietono no shana, a dengeki sword with 50% SAT (and 50% fire, but that's not important here), and increase its condition to 140%, it will now have a SAT bonus of 70%.

Now, back to the original Nietono no shana. Say we had a Plug-S R Arm booster, giving us +45% to R-Arm equipment. With the original, unupgraded sword in the right hand, you get a 95% SAT bonus (50 original plus 45 from the equipment booster). However, if you raise its condition to 140%, you'll now get a 133% SAT bonus (70 upgraded sword plus 45*1.4=63 from the equipment booster)

To give you an idea of how ridiculous it gets later on, the maximum condition for an item is 694% and the maximum for a single booster is +255%. So if you use a 694% condition hat with a maxed Plug-L Head booster, every stat that the hat has a bonus in will be increased by at least +1770% (18.7 times original stat), since it's not including the actual bonuses on the item itself.

As for the actual shit you asked about:

Rank 1-2 equipment: 8 points
Rank 3-4 equipment: 9 points
Rank 5-6 equipment: 10 points
Dengeki equipment: 10 points
Unlosing Equipment (cape must be 2star and above): 10 points
1star Unlosing Cape (failure cape): 3 points

The blacksmith skill only affects how many times you can call them per dungeon, I think. Might also affect repair prices, I don't know.
James
oh man ivalset you sound like a genius im getting dizzy :)
where you get those info? from the jap wiki?

Ivalset
Yeah, most of it is from there. Google translate is pretty terrible so sometimes it's confusing to understand that shit.
awp
when I synth my condition is only raised by 1%

seems kind of expensive
Topic Starter
Ivalset
It's based on rank. Synthing a rank 1 item gives +1% condition. Rank 2 is +2%, etc etc.

It's a bit expensive now, but later on money becomes worthless and synthing for condition becomes worthwhile.

You should store excess equipment and hang on to it, though. All of it is good as fodder equipment for synthing. And if you have the cash and you find yourself using the same equipment, go ahead and start synthing; it's less work you have to do later.

That is, store the excess that you're not using for shadowgram.

Ugh, I just tried a run of absolute hero mastery dungeon at +9 church. By floor 80, the gatekeepers were already level 9999 and normal mobs were 3000. I was...512.

I was surviving pretty well until I got dropped into a hero interception room. Then a cat blended me.

Well that's a bit too overwhelming.

Damndamndamndamn, I so want this.

I keep playing Disgaea 2 on PSP to satisfy my desires.
awp
Good thing I have a pile of equipment I have no other plans for, but seriously, synthing equipment 500+ times? Kind of irritating, considering you can't put a Safety on equipment you're currently using

Guess I'll have to Shadowgram an extra life

Theoretically, you would only need to synth 495 times to get a full set of +99 equip. It's really not even that time consuming, since each synth is like under 10 button presses. I can synth a +16 piece of gear in 1 minute, so about half an hour for 5 +99 gears. Considering I've already put in at least 130 hours...

Plus, you don't even really need to synth a full set. Just whatever you're using a booster for and your weapon.

Also, by the time you start really doing synthesis, you might as well be using the Insurer facility, since it protects your equipment and inventory items.
James
omg 130 hours... i played for.... ~10 hours. need to catch up.
just unlocked the hero dungeon though..
how to get dangeki cards?
Topic Starter
Ivalset
Need to set up your excavator in your caravan. The further down you set your caravan stop to, more/rarer items will be available. I think dengeki cards can show up as early as 5f.
James
what about those mirror things inside hero dungeon?
sorry to ask alot of questions here xD

Mirrors clone enemies that pass infront of them.

Damn, now I'm going to have to make an alternate set of gear with as much jump as possible.
James
whats the use of jump in this game?

edit:
if i use a specific costume, and level my character alot by using that costume.. do i get more stats with it?
example, i wear laharl costume and leveled to 1000. do i get more SAT than leveling a character using etna costume?

and what does each of the stats for workers specifically do? like love.. etc...

btw dangeki dungeons are hard :(

Ivalset
Jump just determines the maximum height you can ascend. With high enough jump you can pretty much jump up any size cliff. I've heard of people getting stuck in dungeons when stairs get placed on chimneys or something, but I've never had that happen to me.

You could probably breeze through the balloon dungeon gimmick (which returns in a dengeki dungeon and the absolute hero mastery dungeon...) with high jump.

I honestly don't know about costume stats. Supposedly, costumes grant some stat bonuses/minuses. I think they modify the stats you gain while leveling, because I can't see any difference at level 1 and they're not documented ingame. I would guess that Laharl would give you more SAT as you leveled, but I haven't tested it so I dunno. The only things you can see are the changes in elemental affinity; Index has 50% to all elements, Etna has 50% wind, etc etc.

The stats for the workers are used for the facilities they work at.

Home - Love
Blacksmith - Smithing
Caravan - Battle, Transport
Insurer - Info
Church - Love, Healing
Dark Clinic - Healing
Delivery - Transport
Tiger's Den - All
COSPATIO - Transport
Space Police - Battle
Usual Cafe - Transport
Satellite Cannon - Info, Smithing
Raising the stats allows you to call the facility more times while in a dungeon, insurer protects more items, and the church can be set higher. Some of the facilities don't seem to do anything with increased stats, though (like the cafe/cospatio)

Also awp, in irc I said you'd need 21 battle+transport to get another stop, but it's actually 41, then you get another stop every 20 points

How to effectively not to lose items when dying?

I haven't used Insurer facility since I don't really get the mechanic, as well as Tiger's Den.

also.. Am I doing it right? lol

Get an insurer with 51 or more stat in info. Wear sunglasses. Keep sunglasses when you die. DWI
James
OK. ill do that in new game+.
im at chapter 10 right now.

I need to finish the game first as i am stucked in chapter 4 in disgaea 1 and 2 lol
not really stucked but i forgot to beat the game.. too much item world lol
Pokebis
I never touched item world and crap before I finished the disgaeas except for the story-required of course and I never synthed items or grinded or anything in ZHP. I just play the story straight without grinding in these games and then do crap. Adds to the challenge a bit IMO. 8-)
James
youre right! hahahahah

James wrote:

If you have all the grid spaces unlocked, I'd say you can stand for some improvement. I was able to supercharge 2 parts to 50, one to 49, and one to 29, with enough storage capacity boosters littered about to net me a pouch of 28 and a SAT bonus of 10%

That's exactly how I do it too.

Also I might finally get Z.H.P today.

When the boss makes the ground in front of it yellow throw an enemy or one of the pillars laying around into it and the boss will suck them up. Do this a few times and the boss will let you hit it. Keep repeating it until the plant in front dies. After it dies you can walk onto it. Just go onto it's back until you can fight Bizzarro Jean and kick his ass. That's all.

Finally I cleared the game after the horrible Level-X dungeon which didn't spawn to the ground any weapons/parts and I was only able to get few rank 2 Longswords from dark knights as a drop. Also using a rather cheap tactic against the boss there at around lvl 34-42 (+700 total), I actually won.

Now I have no idea what to do in next playthrough. Anyone who plays this and have cleared it at least once already have any good advice?
