Hello everyone!
I plan to make "osu! Taiko Dan-i Dojo" (段位道場).

Q. what is Dan-i Dojo?
This is exam to get grade (Dan-i, 段位) what is appropriate to your skills.
Taiko no Tatsujin's highest grade is "Tatsujin" (達人). Video

You need maps to be suggested so you can determine the level of a player...?

something like 初段 ~ 達人 grade in arcade, you should make the list of grade at first.

and pretty sure that 初段 needed to have 3 star rating around things.

but remember that SR3.0 over maps are from muzukashii+ difficulty. that's probably a bit hard for beginners.

or 級 grade can solve it too.

hm, Kyu-i 級位 is good idea. i'll select from ranked maps for it. :D

SR 6.64です 結構クセが強い譜面なので個人差あるかもしれません…

Might be worth noting that there are currently a lot more taiko arcade ranks than the provided list should you attempt to emulate that.
We can just map the official ones...... just saying.

True :3 Talk about the decline of arcades in Hong Kong......

It's worth noting that the stamina required for osu!taiko rather than arcade is much much lower...... so if we map the original arcade ones it's going to be much easier to play.

Most of the difficulty in osu!taiko comes from deadly AR and lethal rhythms, whereas in comparison the rhythm is more stable and predictable and the 'AR' is more reasonable in the arcade version (mostly).

Just my two cents.

If we are to recreate a similar ranking scale encompassing novices to godly level, we would need maps spanning a myriad of difficulties, but difficulty is quite subjective and therefore very hard to determine. In the arcade, even 3 misses would cost the highest rank. We can't recreate that, but we can increase the difficulty overall :o

Is this thread dead? Is anyone planning to continue this?

If the original author wanted to continue this I would gladly contribute some of my collections into this.

You're right about this... osu!taiko and arcade taiko are two different games, in terms of mapping style and techniques. The songs selected for 4th dan could easily have fit into 7th or even 8th dan were they in the arcade...
