For those of you who play on a keyboard, what is your key configuration ? I have a very hard time passing fast parts with red-red-red-blue-blue etc things.

Red right : y
You might want to try a spread when your hands are farther apart, this is very comfortable for ME and most players.

I use

sd ;'

Don left = D
Don Right = :
Ka Left: S
Ka Right: "

I'm useing an american keyboard so the key setups may be diffrent. ^^

Red Left: V
Red Right: B
Blue Right: N

I use a laptop though so maybe that's why I feel the most comfortable playing with those keys. Have fun!

D: I use DF and JK since it's also what I use for Stepmania. The small bumps on my F and J key probably subconsciously help me with pressing the right keys on faster songs.

Agreed. Actually even on osu!standard, my z/x keys are actually 2 keys apart.
My Taiko keys are:

Don Left = d
Katsu Left = a
Don Right = Numpad4
Katsu Right = Numpad6

I think AWP's description of Taiko is fine.
Nothing more really needed to be said about it.

guys guys, does anyone reckon it's whack that dendens are extended in hard rock??

because a hidden SS will score a little less than a hard rock SS.
i know it's supposed to make it dendens harder to complete but come on, it's just bloody free points.

I agree with you, but taiko follows the osu standard system a bit and I don't think it can be changed, it happened to me too when my DT+HID SS couldn't beat a normal SS on a short song
Zekira
I don't mind, really, since if everyone's using the same mods then everyone's just getting the same score.

Hard Rock should increase your total score anyway, so why not.

I use xbox controller ;)
IATGOF
I play Q (A on qwerty keyboard) and S for Don and J K for Kat

I wonder if someone but me is playing like this (I mean, left hand for Don and the other for Kat).
Perhaps it's a bad practice, but i'm quite used to now...
Should I start playing like everyone?

Noobita plays like that as well

But I recommend you do try the normal setup... some maps are just too insane without it...

My set up is the good ol' default. I dunno, I just like it. However, the "home" button messes me up when I accidently press it :C.

I find it confusing any other way, too =l.
Claudia_old
far spread y'awl.
Kestrel11
f and g as don, h and j as kat.

I could never play using the original setup.

so much easier for streams, as I can cross over. ^^
Zekira
lol people restricting themselves to the walls of osu!Taiko :>
Kert
I am using X C + numpad 1 numpad 2
Very comfortable for me.

I second that. I was inspired to play CtB sometimes because of its achievements.
Claudia_old
has peppy ever denied taiko achievements?

if not i'm so suggesting some

I think those TBA achievements will be dedicated for Taiko.
Claudia_old
if they ever come out

ay caramba
mekadon_old
x/left mouse for don and z/right mouse for kat
or maybe an xbox controller, without the xbox :P

If anyone has been reading the changelog, you can see that a lot of Taiko additions have been made recently.

Because of those changes I suddenly can't wait for the new build.
those
Don - XM
Kat - SK

I play with my thumbs cuz I originally played Taiko no Tatsujin DS!. I'm sure I'd be a lot better if I had a controller P=
Luna
Is it *somehow* possible to change the beat offset for Taiko mode while leaving it as is for regular osu! mode? Some kind of legal modification of game files perhaps?
Because for some reason, I have to hit everything early in Taiko mode, and I don't think stuff like the Taiko training map is supposed to be offbeat (and I'd imagine you shouldn't have to hit the button when the blue and red circles have not even reached the hit circle area...) ._. Regular osu! is fine, though...
Btw, my computer is the worst pile of garbage you could possibly imagine, so I guess it lags Taiko for no apparent reason...
It's just freaking annoying because I wanted to learn and probably get into Taiko and now I can hardly FC the training map ;_;
Oh, and I've already tried setting osu! to "higher priority" in the Task Manager to remove/lessen the lag issues, but to no avail...

Now my keys are different, and a set up I reccomend to everyone. cvnm.

that's similar to mine, just mine are spread out farther. my netbook is small, and since the keyboard and my hands are small, it just works out better.

mine is as l;.
OzzyOzrock
zxcv

go go default
jraff_old
;) cool~~i love taiko mode
NeoRainier
Well, i'm used to play with default keys ZXCV:
-Forefingers on Dons (left one on X,right one on C)
-Middle fingers on Kats (left=Z, right = V)

I love this settings cause when there are "finish" Dons i use just my right hand ;) (for Kats it depends from the song but generally i use both middle fingers)
totoco
default.
Luna +. I also have something like that with a new pc Oo recently i had an "ancient" one and everything was ok, but now i have to press buttons earlier ._. totally ruined all the skill
Kushiro
I'm using ZX and ,. for Taiko mode.
