hiya! i'm here from my modding queue.
whew! ok. holy shit. i didn't expect that to be so long.
i'm really sorry i couldn't help you more! as it went on the quality of the mod sort of decreased, that's mostly cause i didn't want to point out the same things over and over again and sound like a broken record. x_x sorry for nitpicking so much...
but it seems like most of the problems just come from weird inconsistencies in spacing and odd slider choices, and just being a bit unpolished. but other than that, it's pretty nice.
either way, i hope this helps! feel free to ignore suggestions you don't like, i'm just giving my opinions, after all.
cheers!
[General]
how in the world are you mapping this without using bookmarks- i never thought i'd have to type out a difficulty name like this but here i am
[ BURNING LOVE CAN'T MELT STEEL BEAMS]
- 00:02:394 (1,2) - i think these could be curved more to look neater, something like this?:
alternatively, just straightened out(deleting the bendy point slider thingy i forgot the name of it), or curved a bit more without being as drastic as the screenshotted suggestion - 00:03:331 (5) - if you take the above suggestion then obviously you should do the same to this one too for consistency
- 00:03:331 (5) - also, a bit nitpicky, but it could also be adjusted so the end makes a little triangle shape and looks neater
- 00:04:269 (3) - same thing i said above, except a bit more jarring
- 00:06:144 (1) - this seems a bit hard to predict/hit properly because of the spacing and high AR
- 00:06:456 (3,4) - not a suggestion, but just saying even though theyre the same shape as the ones in the beginning of the map, these look a lot neater because of the placement (as in, not not looking like theyre supposed to flow into each other but sort of stabbing each other instead)
- 00:07:081 (5) - this just doesnt feel like good flow imo, its a bit too close to the end of the slider and goes at an angle too high, instead of just going more of the opposite direction the slider went and creating more of a "rubber band" feeling. however, if it was more around where 00:07:237 (6) - is or was further away it would feel better, since it would create a sort of "zig zag" feeling
- 00:09:581 (5) - this feels a bit too close to the previous circle imo
- 00:12:081 (7,8,9,10,1) - this is a bit confusing and looks a bit messy, i think the stream could be curved a little more or the slider could be move so 00:12:237 (9,10,1) - dont make such a triangle shape
- 00:18:019 (3,4,5) - spacing here feels very awkward, too close
- 00:20:206 (3,4) - spacing is inconsistent with the other notes in this pattern, too close
- 00:22:394 (1) - curve so it blankets a bit more?
- 00:23:019 (3) - its not a big of a jump, but i think it looks a bit better to be as close to the slider as the previous circle:
alternatively, you could make the jump a bit bigger, and creating a triangle shape with the end of the slider, sort of like this: - 00:24:112 (2) - i think it would feel better if moved to the right more, something like this:
this also creates a little triangle shape with the end of the slider for neatness - 00:23:644 (1) - also, upon taking that screenshot, i noticed this slider goes off grid which is unrankable (i dont think youre going for rank, but still worth mentioning)
- 00:27:394 (1) - imo would look/feel better either moved closer to 00:27:081 (4) - or moved more to left (creating a triangle shape with 00:26:925 (3) - )
- 00:32:081 (6) - this looks too close to 00:31:769 (4) - , might feel better further away from 00:31:925 (5) -
- 00:32:628 (2,3) - imo could be better if at a different angle, like this (not as close/in that exact placement, just showing the angle i mean)
- 00:33:487 (7) - nitpick
- 00:33:878 (2) - spacing looks hard to read since its an actual slider and not just a circle
- 00:34:581 (1) - i hate to be That Guy but this slider just looks...... Bad. same as above also. im not even sure if thats a good placement for that slider anywho. it looks like it should go a different direction as well, more to the left
- 00:36:378 (2) - blanket?
- 00:42:706 (2,3,1,2,3,4) - this is a confusing pattern since the spacing between the half notes is the same as the (technically) quarter notes? maybe you should stack 00:42:862 (3) - and make adjustments to 00:42:394 (1) -
- 00:48:487 (1) - this looks very awkward? putting 00:49:112 (3) - on top of 00:48:487 (1) - would look and feel much better imo
- 00:53:175 (4,5) - also looks very awkward, you could try rounding them more around the slider end or, stacking 00:53:175 (4,5) - and doing something like this:
looks a lot nicer and flow-y. however 00:53:487 (1) - might need to be adjusted a bit - 00:57:394 (1,2) - nitpicky
- 00:58:253 (4) - this feels bad, it should be going at the same angle instead
- 00:59:269 (5,6,7) - move these closer together like 00:58:956 (2,3,4) - for consistency?
- 01:00:519 (3,4) - would look and flow better like this (the following patterns would have to be readjusted though obvs)
- 01:03:253 (4) - blanket?
- 01:03:644 (1,2,3) - the spacing here is VERY inconsistent. the gap between 01:03:644 (1,2) - is much larger and the flow between 01:03:878 (2,3) - looks weird because of close together the sliders are
- 01:12:394 (1) - curve this more?
- 01:21:925 (6) - this really feels like it should be moved more the upper left
- 01:27:394 (1) - ??????? gap between 01:27:315 (7) - ??? ??? no???? move it up???? No Looky Good
- 01:31:612 (4) - nitpick
- 01:31:925 (6) - aaaand another one
- 01:33:331 (3) - blanket? (01:33:644 (1) - adjusting this one to match?)
- 01:43:331 (5) - curve opposite direction?
- 01:43:644 (1) - ^ flows nicer i think
- 01:55:519 (3) - stack on 01:55:987 (1) - ???
- 02:03:644 (1) - maybe?
- 02:05:519 (3,4) - just a suggestion (02:06:144 (1) - would have to be adjusted if this was applied) (02:05:831 (4) - could also be moved down more which looks neater)
- 02:07:003 (4,5) - this seems unnecessary, i think a hold would just be better
- 02:08:644 (1) - straighten?
- 02:14:112 (2,3,4) - nitpick
- 02:16:612 (4,5,6,7) - spacing here is weirdly inconsistent
- 02:17:394 (1) - stack on the end of 02:17:081 (7) - ?
- 02:19:425 (1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5,1,2) - not a suggestion but this is so cool
- 02:20:831 (4,5) - center these in between the slider ends? it looks very off
- 02:27:628 (2) - rotate? its very awkwardly clashing with the previous slider rn. also, maybe ctr+g or just move it because the spacing seems unnecessary again
- 02:28:253 (5) - ^
- 02:33:331 (4) - nitpick
- 02:37:394 (1) - ^
- 02:40:362 (2) - spacing and placement is VERY weird. not a good direction to go
- 02:43:644 (1) - this could be a bit more blankted, and also, goes a teensy tiny off grid...?
- 02:44:581 (4) - ?
- 02:44:894 (1) - jump seems a bit too large
- 02:48:878 (2,3) - would be better as a hold imo
- 02:55:831 (4) - blanket 02:56:144 (1) - ?
- 02:58:644 (1) - curve opposite direction?
- 03:06:456 (2) - seems a bit too close to the end of the slider
- 03:19:112 (3,4,5,6,7) - more inconsistent spacing. not as jarring but still offputting
- 03:22:394 (1) - this could be curved more, possibly even blanketing 03:22:862 (2) -
- 03:41:612 (2) - blanket 03:42:081 (4) - more?
- 03:43:644 (1) - rotate so it points into the center of 03:43:331 (5) - more?
- 03:44:112 (3) - curves too high imo
- 03:47:862 (2) - give this the same curve as 03:47:394 (1) - except in the opposite direction
- 03:50:206 (2) - this spacing seems really unnecessary. you could try crtl+g-ing 03:49:894 (1) -
- 03:52:862 (4) - nitpick except not really because the spacing in this pattern is inconsistent, mostly cause of this one circle
- 03:54:737 (7) - maybe stack on 03:54:581 (6) - ?
- 03:58:331 (5) - blanket this more?
- 03:59:894 (1) - maybe you should curve this a little more (semi-blanketing the circle)
- 04:01:769 (3) - blanket
- 04:02:394 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - again not a suggestion but this is cool
- 04:06:144 (1,3) - these look... really weird. im not sure what to do but i think curving 04:06:769 (3) - in the opposite direction could help a little
- 04:12:394 (1) - teensy tiny off grid again
- 04:14:737 (6) - nitpick
- 04:15:362 (2) - could be rotated so its semi blanket-ing and just looks/flows better
- 04:23:331 (4) - same thing ive said about all the sliders directly after sliders ending on eighth notes
- 04:33:331 (5) - blanket? 04:33:019 (4) - could also be curved to match and blanket the circle before it
- 04:36:612 (3) - nitpick (curved more so its better blanketed)
- 04:46:925 (5) - spacing too inconsistent, try stacking?
- 04:50:831 (4) - move this so its more blanketed?
- 05:09:894 (1) - this is way too hidden by the previous slider and might be unrankable
- 05:15:987 (3) - nitpick
- 05:16:456 (2,3,4,5,6) - this looks horribly mishapen
- 05:23:487 (5) - move so its blanketed?
- 05:23:487 (5) - i think this is a lot better imo
- 05:53:175 (5) - abrupt spacing again
- 05:56:612 (3) - this feels like it should be curved more, and
- 05:57:394 (1) - this feels too close to the end of the last slider
- 06:03:644 (1) - i think this is also a lot better
- 06:09:112 (3,4) - ok this is just ridiculous and unnecessary...
- 06:27:237 (1) - maybe?
- 06:40:362 (2) - move so its more blanketed?
- 06:44:894 (1) - seems a bit too close to 06:44:581 (1) -
- 06:45:987 (1) - also move this a bit more so its better blankted
- 07:37:394 (1,2,3,4) - i think the sv change here might be a bit too drastic...
- 07:50:362 (4) - nitpick
- 07:57:706 (2,3,4) - this is very hard to read. also a very unnecessary hop
- 08:00:987 (1) - another nitpick but straighten this more so its the same angle as 08:00:362 (3) -
- 08:01:612 (3) - this jump seems a bit too large
- 08:08:253 (5,6) - i dont think this is necessary either. i think this spacing might be ok if it was a hold slider but otherwise its.... offputting
- 08:44:581 (5,6) - once again i really dont think kind of stuff is alright here. at least not in this song with a bpm of 192... its also very inconsistent with when you choose to make hops out of these. also, the emphasis is on the white tick, "mo," so it seems double weird to make the hop/jump on the eighth note before it.
- 08:48:253 (5,6) - same thing as above except this one is even worse in terms of distance, especially since theres nothing in the music to suggest a hop there
- 08:57:237 (1,2,3) - same thing i said about the sv change earlier... mainly cause its hard to predict.
- 09:01:144 (1) - arches too high, i think it kinda goes off grid
- 09:19:269 (3,6) - nitpick except a somewhat jarring nitpick
- 09:20:362 (3) - the jump seems a bit much and the slider makes the pattern look messy
- 09:29:894 (1,2) - move the circle so its a bit more blanketed?
- 09:33:487 (6) - another nitpick... sorry
- 09:38:019 (3,4,5) - unnecessary, and imo i think it would be MUCH more fitting to use this rhythm instead:
- 09:42:706 (2) - i think this is a better placement for this
- 09:58:644 (1) - this is a bit iffy but i really think it needs to be curved more... or at least curved in a different way than the screenshot or in a different shape
- 10:01:300 (2) - nitpick... again
- 10:03:956 (2) - again with the inconsistent spacing, except this time it seems a bit too... close in comparison to every other time this has happened
- 10:04:737 (1,2,3) - same thing about the sv change
- 10:09:581 (5) - same with 10:03:956 (2) -
- 10:15:206 (2,3,4,5,6,7,1) - i think this is the only part where i thought that that technique was actually used decently. in an actual pattern and not just kinda random and by itself. however, the jumps still seem a bit drastic... but its not too bad
- 10:21:456 (2) - this like... Needs to be blanketed. it would also be consistent with 10:22:394 (1) - a little after it in the pattern
- 10:26:456 (2,1) - even if it fits the music, theres not enough warning or previous distancing that would suggest there would be a jump That big. even 10:26:144 (1) - is kinda pushing it, but it seems pretty okay.
- 10:44:581 (3) - could really be blanketed better, with a nitpick over 10:45:206 (3) - to make it look neater and out of the way:
- 10:49:269 (3) - i dont see a reason to Not make this symmetrical
- 10:50:519 (3) - blanket more?
- 10:55:831 (5,6,1) - seems a bit drastic of a jump and pattern
- 10:56:612 (2) - blanket more?
- 10:58:644 (1) - there isnt anything in the music suggesting the slider end on an eighth note, and its very jarring. you should probably move it to a white tick
- 11:08:331 (4) - pretty awkward placement, its too close to the previous slider and going at a really weirdly different angle
- 11:11:144 (1,3,4,5) - the sv change here doesnt seem as bad cause of 11:10:519 (4,5,6,7) - it was already jumpy/fast paced so its almost expected.
- 11:26:065 (6,1) - this also doesnt seem as bad since the slider before it is actually flowing directly into it, and because of the sv change its not really a hop either.
- 11:27:003 (5,6) - this however, might be better stacked on the end 11:26:769 (4) -
- 11:32:394 (1) - make this curve in the opposite direction, it flows better and looks a lot less awkward
- 11:49:737 (1,2,3) - this seems pretty... hard to read
- 12:18:175 (4) - nitpick again
- 12:19:112 (3) - move this so its stacked on 12:18:487 (1) - ? creates a triangle shape with 12:19:737 (6) -
- 12:19:737 (6) - also, move this so its blanketed more
the last 2 changes in screenshot form: - 12:22:081 (5) - just another tiny nitpick
- 12:23:487 (6) - more nitpicking... except this one is a bit confusing since its clearly off
- 12:23:956 (2) - blanket
- 12:24:581 (4) - ^
- 12:25:362 (1,2,3) - please move this closer to 12:25:675 (4) - , its too drastic of a jump after a triplet
- 12:28:019 (4) - another tiny nitpick
- 12:32:394 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - the spacing here also seems inconsistent with the somewhat larger gap at the end not fitting the music
- 12:39:581 (6) - this placement doesnt really make sense to me... it kinda just looks like it was stuck there randomly
- 12:39:894 (1) - semi blanket?
- 12:45:831 (10) - nc here instead
- 12:49:581 (6) - i think this off grid...
- 12:50:831 (5) - more nitpicking x_x
- 12:54:112 (4,5,1) - the sv change here might be acceptable since its the very end of the map
whew! ok. holy shit. i didn't expect that to be so long.
i'm really sorry i couldn't help you more! as it went on the quality of the mod sort of decreased, that's mostly cause i didn't want to point out the same things over and over again and sound like a broken record. x_x sorry for nitpicking so much...
