It brings popularity to a person because realistically, most people only care about/pay attention to good scores (usually scores valued high in pp) and base it as their first impression of the player.
The term I used, "drastic improvement", was directly referring to sw's rise in rank over the past few months (more specifically the past week). This is why I bothered to question the "spurious correlations".
You seem to think that I'm the type of person that relies 100% on pp to calculate the absolute skill level of a person. Well that's not true lol.
You fucked yourself over by saying this poll involves votes and not skill while defending someone who appears to want more attention (check reddit and twitter). This poll is more of a popularity contest and pp doesn't change skill at all.
You're looking at this situation with values in true skill ( I like that ) but you're missing the point that I am trying to make. Like what poncho said about the correlations why would sw bother making a Winter 2016 poll instead of best mouse players of 2015? A winter 2016 poll would center the focus on sw's recent scores.
Those are the reasons why I brought this up and at first it was just an innocent question with no intentions of starting shit and to be honest, no one would've questioned about it except for me because no one wants to be that guy that acts differently among the crowd.

Also, you seem to have been unnecessarily aggressive and "awfully agitated" yourself when you decided to start something from what Ritzeh said (which, by the way was not in an aggressive tone at all). Why are you pointing out his "awfully agitated" response like he should be acting all civil and nice to you when out of nowhere you decide to be sarcastic and attack him? You calling Ritzeh a drama queen off the bat when he just asked for Smoothie World's reasons for creating this poll is honestly a bit ridiculous considering his message wasn't agitative (again, the tone wasn't and he also clarified that in his post). Anyways, the idea that Smoothie World wanted to make this poll to get an idea for where the community ranks the mouse players is fine, but it probably would have been wiser for him to not make it given he showed some impressive scores recently. For the third party, the idea that he did it for attention to his recent scores is honestly a viable one regardless of whether it was the intention or not. (Again, not saying that it is the case or that the poll should cease to exist or anything like that)

Is the person creating this compilation going to be the sole determinant of the people who get on this list? You guys are still are still voting and making the choices yourselves. I'm having a bit of a problem seeing why you guys are putting so much credence over this situation, heh. Besides, looking at the results and at Smoothie World overall as a mouse player compared to some of the other nominees, it's not like he's going to be at the top anyway.
