NOTE: This is in regards to the star rating shown on the website.

So for a while like, a LOT of maps have been including an Advanced difficulty. I think it would be nice to officially set a star rating about what an advanced difficulty is, since it's so prevelant in the mapping community.

I don't think that this should make mappers forced to put an advanced diff where none is needed, but it would be helpful to indicate what an Advanced difficulty is due to its prevelance in modern mapping.

Yes, I agree
I use them a lot. Maybe from 2.25-2.75?

Yes please.
And maybe add another one 5.25* to 7*.

That's already being done on the new beatmap listing. They are black in color.

That just shifts the colors around
Currently -Green-Blue-Orange-Red-Purple-
On new -Green-Orange-Red-Purple-Black
It doesn't change much

If I have learned one thing from star difficulties and difficulty names then it's that they don't have a meaning regarding the actual difficulty of a map.
A 89bpm map might very well fully apply the gameplay-elements specific for an advanced difficulty but still land 1,49 stars in terms of difficulty.
On the other hand fast maps will still use very simple gameplay-elements at this star difficulty range that don't deserve the name"Advanced".

Or differently expressed:
When the complexity of a map isn't characterized by its star difficulty, why would we add another difficulty range based on star rating? From my knowledge most people can't even tell apart an Easy- from a Normal-diff in terms of element-usage and it wouldnt be a tad better for Advanced vs Hard/Normal.
