When testing map or modding a map it is hard to show the creator exactly how you played the map unless you go on an image editing software and create a flow-chart of how you played the map (which is not entirely accurate).
This feature "saves" the cursor movement from the last F5 test as an invisible smoke that can be toggled on/off and when on, shows the recent cursor movement around that part of the map, just before or after the current timestamp.
Example:

The amount you want to see ahead and before the timestamp you are on should be customisable, but if not then it should scale with AR.
In my example I just shown the smoke ahead, and it made it pretty clear to me that the snap at the bottom is a bit harsh and could cause a sliderbreak with slider 4, so this kind of feature is mostly for modding/personal mapping, but should clear up a lot of misconceptions about playability of patterns as least for certain skill levels of players. Not only spotting hard to play patterns but also fine tuning existing patterns should all be easier if the last play is easily visible.

Also, as a bonus point, it makes the F5 testplay option more useful because not that many mappers actually use it, they play the maps normally to account for drain.

tl;dr of tl;dr
It creates a flowchart based on your recent test of the map that you can toggle.

Made it more obvious what the feature actually was, should be easier to understand now.

I really like this, it could help give an idea as to how the map should play if, for example, something feels off but you can't narrow down why it feels off, and just look at where your cursor tends to go.
Shmiklak
We really need it, but I think it can be more beautiful.

Well sadly if it stores your cursor movement then it's going to look really off and not neat, and if there are algorithms to make them look neater then it wouldn't be the actual cursor movement.
(unless you meant something else)

Well played Arphi, this could be really useful to get a better impression how a map plays, especially regarding slider leniency.
I already threw one star and...let's see how this thread develops. Maybe I gotta throw more but I'm counting on the mapping community here.

I'm not one of those who testplay into the editor tho, since I can't play anything within the editor at all due to the background lol.
Most of the times I just rewind the same part again and again and by now I developed an automatic "flow" in my head that tells me how everything goes (but that's just me).
Anyway, I don't really see downsides to this, so why not :3

I actually do the same, I hardly ever play my maps (which is highly advised that you play them!) because my flows are generally really simple, but yknow this is for when leniency or quirky business comes into play really
