It's been about nine months since I did my first response to these questions, thought I should re-do them haha.

1. I was playing regular osu! with a friend, just starting out, and accidentally downloaded a mania map and asked my friend what this weird guitar hero gamemode was. He told me mania and I was hooked. I haven't stopped playing, really. Maybe once :p

2. 4k all the way bb

3. DFJK, but I find that QWOP works fairly well too. On 5k I use DFJKL (J is special key)

4. About 2+ years ago maybe? Probably went tryhard about 1.5 years ago.

9. My new favorite mapper is probably Ichigaki by far.

10. Ranked more often. I usually train on unrankeds because they're much harder and easier to find good quality maps than ranked at higher levels. :p kek

11. Of course. I wish the community was better at times, but I will always love the game like nothing else. It's played a bigger role in my gaming life than I care to admit most of the time, but I do love the game. I spend lots of time all in the name of self improvement as a player.

Because of my friends wanted to play while on a skype call, and I had already created an osu! account ouo

4k, 5k, 7k, trying to like 8k and I totally hate 6k, because I mess up with the two middle notes

My favourite songs always keep changing, but I think I'd choose Crack Traxxxx, by Lite Show Magic, from SDVXII

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?
Stairs, the simple ones please. xD

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
I love multiplayer but there's never rooms with good songs, and I don't like hosting very much so I end up playing solo.

8. Who is your favourite osu!mania player?
There's a lot of people I respect in this game, for instance, Ideu-, Tomboki, nowsmart, Staiain, Skalim, etc.

9. Who is your favourite osu!mania mapper?
I don't have one.

10. Do you like to play unranked or ranked maps?
Mostly ranked maps, but there's many awesome unranked maps that should be ranked, Miracle 5ympho X, Dragon and Girl and Decoherence, and M.AM.A. for instance

11. Do you like osu!mania?
Of course!

I've been playing IIDX for years and wanted to try a rhythm game with a multiplayer component. Plus some of my steam friends played standard and tried to get me into it.

Right now 4K. 7K once my brain can figure out the holds.

All I wanted to do is to contribute to the "DanceDanceRevolution to osu!mania" project.

2. What is your favourite keymode?
Mine are 4K and 8K.

Default is upwards scrolling and x1 (Speed 3).

I've been playing for 1 year.

"DUB-I-DUB" by ME & MY. The Challenge/Insane chart is very cool!

As long as if there are NO HANDS (3+ note presses), then I am good.

I say Solo. If I had a Gamecube-to-PC USB adapter and two dance mats, then it would be cool workout using Co-Op charts and the Co-Op mode.

I only like those that don't play beatmaps containing hands.

I got no one in mind, since I'm the only one contributing to the "DanceDanceRevolution to osu!mania" project.

Since my first "DanceDanceRevolution to osu!mania" beatmaps never got ranked on the official osu! website, I would have to say unranked. I upload my beatmaps to Google Drive instead.

11. Do you like osu!mania?

Yes; it is definitely worth a try, and beats DanceDanceRevolution when it comes to pausing in the middle of the game and skipping song intros.

Without hands, we wouldn't be able to play osu!mania! (no, soft ddr mats are not an acceptable no hands option. they must at least be metal pads before I accept that as a response)

1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
I switched from Guitar Hero to osu! as my go-to game. I knew that there was a 'Guitar Hero gamemode', but I didn't know what it was called. I found out it was osu!mania and now I get to have the best of both worlds.

2. What is your favorite keymode?
4k or 5k. I have yet to encounter 2k or 3k, but they sound alright.

3. What is the layout of your favurite keymode?
Standard. (DF JK) (DF JKL)

4. How long have you been playing osu!mania? (not including other games)
About a week.

Sedap Malam and Utakata, Ai no Mahoroba are my current favorites.

I was going to say ranked, but I think I like unranked better. Unranked is just for practicing and it helps me get better so I can play ranked maps and get better accuracy and more pp so I can level up.

Nope. I absolutely hate it. It's the worst thing I've ever played.

Well, I started with Standard and one day I tried out Mania. Now I only play Mania because Standard really frustrates me with its combo-based scoring system.

2. What is your favourite keymode?
My favorite would be 7k but I still suck at it. 4k would be the keymode I can play best I guess.

Too many to choose from.

Well you're probably the only player who seems to take playing mania on a pad seriously to begin with. Also, some ITG charts have hands, so I don't see the problem with including hands when they seem appropriate even on pad oriented charts.

I got frustrated with Osu! STD and wanted something new, plus the keybased rythm system appeals to me more.

4K because I like fast play, but 7K is the keymode that gives me the most training.

My friends were into it at the time. I started late in the fad but in the end I'm one of the only people left who plays it still. And out of a group of 7 I'm now 2nd best in raw 4k skill.

2. What is your favourite keymode?

It's a tie between 4K, 5K, and 7K.

DF JK, SDF JK, and ASDF JKL, respectively.

Around 8 months ago, with very few days where I went without playing.

5. Which osu!mania song do you like the most?

It depends on what the specific criteria is.

For song, it'd be Terekakushi Shinshuki. That voice is just adorable <3
For map, it's really difficult to pick a favorite. I can easily name my least favorite of them all, though- Ray. The map structure is garbage, and unlike the much longer but similar trainwrecks that are World's End Girl's Rondo and BBKKBKK, this one is worth barely any PP at all.

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?

Index streams. The End solidified my love for those, due to the fact that they're simultaneously simple and draining.
Well, that, and playing The End as much as I did means I'm pretty darn good at them now.
Jumpstreams follow in a close second.

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?

I mostly play solo. No pressure, just a race against myself.

8. Who is your favourite osu!mania player?

A lot of the meme-spoutin chat trolls are fun to be around. Eternalie, Konner-, gusto -_- and the like. Soularion was cool too, but he's moved back to Stepmania cause he don't want to play anything but 4K. His loss!

Fullerene-. I love people who accept nothing less than insanely difficult.
Although nowsmart is a bit of an exception there. I look at nowsmart with a bizarre mix of fear and respect.

I play both extensively, especially since the pool for my main mode, 4K, is woefully underpopulated in terms of ranked maps at my level (4.75*).

I wouldn't play almost every day I could have if I didn't like the game.

1. I came for standard, hated it, then found that there was a few more modes, namely mania. I thought it was a cool spin off of Guitar Hero, which I played since 2007, and the rest is history.
2. 4k is my favorite, but if given a Guitar Hero controller, I could dominate 5k.
3. Standard DFJK
4. I played my first mania song on like September-December 2014, but actively started playing on like January 2015.
5. My favorite is probably Bangin` Burst novice lvl 9 by Spy because it was the first map I really felt accomplished playing.
6. I like stairs and trills.
7. I like solo b/c you gt infinite retries

8. My favorite player is Staiain, but I like jhlee`s godly plays too.
9. My favorite mapper is Spy because I gained tens of thousands of places thanks to him.
10. I like ranked maps better, but some unranked maps just don`t get the attention they deserve to get ranked.
11. I like it, but the ranked mappool could use some more variety (RANK MOAR STUFF!)

It's been 2 months since I started playing o!m, so I thought I would do this again, considering I'm now a pro!

1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
I switched from Guitar Hero to osu! as my go-to game. I knew that there was a 'Guitar Hero gamemode', but I didn't know what it was called. I found out it was osu!mania and now I get to have the best of both worlds.

2. What is your favorite keymode?
~~4k or 5k. I have yet to encounter 2k or 3k, but they sound alright.~~
4k. I still love 7k, 6k, and 5k, though.

I was going to say ranked, but I think I like unranked better. Unranked is just for practicing and it helps me get better so I can play ranked maps and get better accuracy and more pp so I can level up.
I like ranked a little better now. Only because it makes me level up. Unranked maps are usually harder and more fun, though.

Really, it's much better than the other modes where you can easily get frustrated if you miss a circle or some grapes.

2. 4k and 7k (enjoy each in different way, can't say I enjoy which more).
7+1 is good too but I need some help with skinning if I want to play that >.< and too lazy to ask for help.

3. WER space IOP for 7k, ERIO for 4k.
Default too low for me. One row up feels much better.

o!m is my first vsrg.

5. Tough question. There are so many songs that are cool in different ways.

My friend invited me. At the first time, it was boring because my old pc doesn't support audio, so I was playing in a silent mode, but after a long time, I bought a new pc and started to play normally, and I knew that this game can increase my typing skill and also my reflect skill.

1. I wanted something that was kinda like my Guitar Hero/Rock Band comfort zone -- I knew about osu! since a few years ago, but never actually played until very recently. I actually found out that osu! had a mania mode from a Staiain video.

1. I love rhythm games. I played rock band and other various games for 8 years and became one of the top players for the community. But that got boring to me and I discovered osu through a ex-guitar hero player named Tob3GH3. I loved the general idea of osu and got hooked immediately.

2. My most comfortable keymode right now is 4k. I play 2-3.5 star beatmaps.

I wanted to play it so bad so i started with osu!mania and it was really cool so I stayed here.

2: Hard to say, i played only 4K for a very long time but started with all other key modes few month ago and all are really cool!

Maybe i should mention that i use Co-Op for 4K (SplitStages)

9: My favorite osu!mania Mapper.. hmm.. i have some more. __M A S__ Makes REALLY fun maps, i love them. In 4K i really like Spy's Maps, they are pretty cool to play. In 7K i like shionelove's and yoshilove Maps. While i hate in 4K LN's i love them in 7K haha. They map them really good!

10: Both! Mostly i just play songs i really like. But there also really a lot of fun unranked Maps.

I've been a GH/RB player for ages, wanted to play more music games and I liked this one the best.

About 1,5 months I think, played a bit of Stepmania before it

I have to say Miiro, because I grinded that song for hours when I started out and it was stuck in my head for a good while.

Single note streams and stairs, hitting some nice bursts is always satisfying

It reminded me of guitar hero. I used to play it so much on my laptop, and when I found out osu had a mode that was like it, I automatically fell in love with it.

I am tied between 4k and 5k

1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
- I was showed the game by someone else, and the game caught my interest. I didn't immediately play the game, though - I started the game once, quit for about 10 months, and then came back to it with the intent of actually staying this time around.

2. What is your favorite keymode?
- Despite being a 4 key main, my favorite keymode is definitely 6 key. Unfortunately, there's not quite as much content out there for 6 key as there is for 7 key. It is what it is, though.

3. What is the layout of your favourite keymode?
- I use QWE/789 for 6-key; giving that separation on the hands makes things a little easier for me to handle overall.

4. How long have you been playing osu!mania? (not including other games)
- I think it's been close to 2 years now? I've got scores on my YouTube channel that are from mid-2014, but I think I was playing before then as well.

5. Which osu!mania song do you like the most?
- I'm not entirely sure how to answer this, because I don't ever like to attribute a single piece of content as something that is my favorite - however, I will say that I definitely love Flexo123's PLVCK [Extra]. It's hardly the best map in terms of accuracy/structure, but it's a hyper-bursty map that I almost always warm up with and I've come to like it more and more.

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?
- Jumpstreaming for days.

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
- I prefer playing multiplayer than I do solo; meeting new players is always a fun thing and I enjoy talking to those who might not have had the chance to talk to me before. The problem that I eventually come across with multiplayer revolves around players not having certain maps and having an incredibly slow connection, making the gameplay experience subpar. Even with that, I still enjoy it.

8. Who is your favourite osu!mania player?
- There's no way I'm going to be able to answer this. I am fond of too many players to want to just name one.

9. Who is your favourite osu!mania mapper?
- Same as #8; there's no way that I'm going to be able to answer this, as there are a number of mappers that I am fond of - in fact, mapping is something that I really enjoy seeing from players, because I care more about a mapper's effort to make their own interpretation of a song compared to something that is "high quality", which is always argued upon anyway.

10. Do you like to play unranked or ranked maps?
- I prefer unranked maps, because there's more freedom. Some of the craziest SV/LN maps will never be ranked because of our current ranking criteria standards.

11. Do you like osu!mania?
- Yes, I do, and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

1 : I found it easier to rank up in than Standard, and i was very good at guitar hero so when i found this aside from Standard i enjoyed it already

2 : 4K

3 : XC NM

4 : 3 months (approx)

5 : MDx2v3 (it's an unranked map, but the music <3)

6 : Jumptrills for days !

7 : Solo for sure

8 : I have many. Yip or Pope or Nick <3 And lots more

1: I was pretty much sick and had to find something to distract myself with. I played Osu! before but never really got far into it since I couldn't play STD well, but when deciding to figure out Mania it kinda just sucked me in.

2: 5k, but no hate on the others.

3: I use the default settings, so guess I have to nominate them, for whatever #K it's on.

4: Almost a year? I think it was late fall or winter last year that I started getting into Mania, and have been playing it since whenever I hop on Osu! (with occasional CTB and Taiko.)

6: Usually when there's a mixture of longs and singles on the side lines.

7: Multiplayer, but the majority of my friends don't play Mania, so mostly in solo anyway.

8: Ehhhh, there are names I could recognize as very pro players, but I don't really know them so I don't have a "favorite." Probably would if I knew the community more.

9: Similar case to my previous answer, and the fact that I need to check out more mania maps.

10: Ranked. I've yet to touch any unranked maps.
