It matters because PewDiePie has an extremely large fanbase that will check out the game if they see him play. This would be fine, it's just that for one, alot of the people in the fanbase seem to be very annoying and/or unwanted. I personally don't judge them at all, but others do, and that might cause alot of problems in the community. Second, if OSU becomes too popular, we might start seeing copyright claims on the songs that are beatmapped. Even though this game is free, and no proffit is being made from it, we could still see alot of DMCA claims. Im not entirely sure of this, but that seems to be one of the concerns going around.Nameless wrote:
Better question: Why does Pewdiepie playing/not playing osu! matter?
non autists/autists is the metric you care about, not the total number of autists. I honestly don't think that pewdiepies fanbase would shift this quota to our disadvantage. And besides, I'd like this place to become more active too, so I'd very much approve Pewds playing a bit of osu.Jordan wrote:
No. Enough autists here.
Fair point, actually.drkslyr666 wrote:

Nah, The Pewds fanbase isn't autistic; it's cancer, which is arguably worse.Jordan wrote:

It's just a matter of time.Mercurial wrote:

this, it's not like our community can possibly get any worse than when league of legends players and bronies all came in droves.Nameless wrote:

his videos get about 3kk views. Given that a big part of his community also shows interest in anime-related content (he uploaded these things every now and then, I think)... maybe 5k? That'd be one out of 600. 5000 new active players is a lot.xxjesus1412fanx wrote:

Something like 10% of the LoL players stayed only because "muh epic mouse mechanics skillz are improving!" and only like 5% of the bronies because the majority of bronies are transient in their interests and gravitated to MLP because it was popular at the time. That's why FNaF ate that fandom.
How many pewdiepie fans would seriously stick with this game?
