I'm afraid of Winter Wyvern
She seems pretty good against Meepo. Don't think she will be played much in pubs though, just like any hero with skills that can fuck up allies (see SD, Pugna, Oracle, Tusk).
It's the same with every new hero that makes it into the game.
It gets so much attention during the first week, people think it's OP, picks it in games to either stomp hard or feed heavily, then proceeds to be fade into the background the week after.
That being said. I love playing Wyvern in the offlane.
Though WC3 Wyvern looked more badass.

new in this, what should I do after completing the tutorials? and who should I use?
there is no real recommendation, just stay away from chen and meepo if you have not perfect micro skills.
Maybe play Limited Hero mode to get used to the basic game mechanics first. But if you want to learn new heroes fast I recommend playing single draft as it forces you to play a new hero everytime.
Ask someone that you know and play with them. I'm totally recommending this since there's so many HATE in dota 2 right now.Trash Boat wrote:

The game has a pretty difficult learning curve so playing with a friend who knows their shit and be able to teach you will help tremendously.
For now go with heroes that does not need you to manage more than one unit.
Its so hard to play Dota and Osu hoping to get better at both. They both require so much time.

I also think that Alch's aghs upgrade doesn't look too useful unless he's too farmed and 6-slotted already. It wouldn't really work if you play as a support too since you won't be able to farm for aghs fast enough without stealing farm from the cores.

God fuck techies. He turns the game into a completely different beast where you have to buy 99999999999 sentries or a gem while your whole team plays ultra safe because you're so fucking paranoid about mines. Aghs upgrade is retarded and make it so fucking hard to push highground. This hero is cancer I don't know why icefrog keeps trying to force him into the meta, he needs to be deleted from the game.

In terms of mechanical complexity, how does DOTA2 compare with LoL? I know both are incredibly more complex than Smite (Plat 2 jungler there). Just wondering what everyone thinks.

Anyway in my opinion LoL takes more raw mechanical skill in general, there is just way more focus on it. Since every champ has 4 active abilities (and some more) as oppsoed to Dota where you can have up to 3 passive skills instead and also the lower cooldowns and manacosts you can and have to use more stuff more often which I find really demanding at times, especially considering everything is a skillshot nowadays and you have to consistently dodge.
That said there are some heroes in Dota which go way beyond any LoL champ, for example Meepo, Chen, Lone Druid, Tinker etc. So if you want to have a REAL challenge try to get good at these.
Also there are way more game mechanics in Dota in general like pulling, stacking, creep aggroing (no you can't compare LoL's creepwave management to this xD) and so on, but tbh they are not really hard to pull off. Also even now I learn new tricks every other day whereas in LoL I've got the feeling I have already seen everything.
tl;dr if you care purely about mechanical complexity LoL > Dota

ah yes the tie-breaker TI between europe and china. should be interesting. Actually it's guaranteed to be interesting from what we saw in groups, this comeback meta makes a great viewing experience overall.
I'm like 99% sure it's going to end with secret vs lgd, i dont see any other turn-out. from there it's a toss-up. Teams are a lot more even and it's due in part to the very comeback mechanics that define this patch. It's not like TI3 where all the money was on Alliance to win since groups because they were visibly better than everyone else, and it's not like TI4 where.. okay to be honest i missed TI4 completely and just watched the finals via VOD and had no regrets about missing it at all..

It's a great hero, gives the team a little bit of everything.
Also lightning storm now makes landing that stun way easier.
